Thank you Jeff, I'm healed up from last year's stupid move, falling from my tree stand and I bought a muddy harness.at 63 I don't heal as fast as I used too and honestly I'm a little gun shy about hunting out of a tree stand but I love hunting whitetail so I've got to conquer my fear and get back at it.
I live in the Northern part of WV. I can drive 5mins West & cross the ohio river and be in Ohio. Also if i drive East 5mins I can be in Pennsylvania. The 3rd and 4th week of October is about the time when the magic happens and Rut cranks off. Everytime Jeff drops a new video im all over it and cant wait to hit the woods. Planting my fall plot this weekend. Super pumped for it! Thanks Jeff!
Great information again Jeff! Like you I have shot over half of my bucks near bedding areas in the mornings during that prerut time here in southern Wisconsin. All the brassicas in for this year went in little over a week ago Big boost brassicas great germination also, and like we talked when I was up with you and Jen. The fall food plan we discussed is paying dividends every bigger deer from last year is moving in now Thanks for talking me into this plan excited for the season already this season. Have a great day!
Love the videos just put in a micro food plot with feed corn and a watering hole! I’m keeping it watered and in a few days I’m gonna fertilize it! Thanks for the video!
Nearly every time i hunted for broke in a buck bedding area I'd get in way early but they still would come past before shooting light. One time I heard a monster rack clanking trees as he walked and he ended up underneath me. I could only see the white on his main beams in the moonlight.
So important to sit on the outside of the bedding area with your scent blowing to an area a buck shouldn't be. Also making sure you get in to the stand right at daybreak if you need thermals to hide your scent.
I got one stand that I call the rut stand on edge of bedding that I don't hunt until October 31 if weather is right but last 3 years I shot 2 9 pointers and a 8 point on same day in the evening.
My concern is how close more so than when ,but i do follow the same aspects you do Jeff, and my Mock Scrape is a draw but many times after dark then i have to sit till the Buck leaves and sneak out after dark.
Jeff, have you ever done any videos on dealing with ag fields being cut right before the season. We have 42 acres of hy fields that are normal cut 2 wees before season starts.
Hi , I was wondering if its a problem when planting cereal grain, the no till way ,if turkeys birds etc pick up the seeds ,I know brasicas are really small they probably won't bother those ??
Any suggestions on building a better mature buck herd in southern Vt. We have a 200 acre active dairy farm. About 50/50 ag and hardwoods with some pines. Hard to get food plots in on active farm fields. Always have bucks to hunt but trying to build age structure. 1 1/2 and 2 1/2 year olds mostly.
@@whitetailhabitatsolutions9751 thank you so much!! I’ve been watching your videos and taking notes every single day! Getting success out of a mock scrape already too. I appreciate you.
I feel you...and thank you! Make sure to pay attention to when I talk about big woods and public land 😊it's all the same north or south, when comparing % of woods and fields. Just the plant varieties change
New England if possible also sir? Thanks for all your info you provide, also absolutely 💯 % hardwoods here , smallest state and there’s just not enough area for food plots!
Jeff you're getting me pumped
Good Kevin 😁 Good luck!!

Best hunting channel there is! Thank you Sir.
Thank you very much...really appreciate it!
Always great info. You're right about DE. November 4 on our farm in Delaware is the peak pre-rut activity.
Thanks a lot Virgil!
Awesome info again, Jeff!
Thanks a lot Jason!
Still love the last 10 days of October.Always great to hear your advice👍👍

@whitetailhabitatsolutions9751 words of wisdom indeed !
what an awesome 8pt at the beginning .
Great info, as always! When can we expect your Digital Land Management to go live?

I’ve watched nearly all your videos. Love the info! But extremely bummed I can’t make it upstate to Carson city. Will it be on TH-cam after?

Going back around Labor Day 2 put some cell cams out and then won’t go back in until it’s time to hunt
Nice... exciting time of the year Drew!! Hope you see some big ones!

Hi Cody...you will have to establish consistent food from Sept to January...enough to last the herd size 😉
I'm all set Jeff. No need to reply. Tx.
Ok!
Jeff, how far would you expect your scent to travel when you are blowing it in a certain direction?
I’m new to hunting and was curious when you think the pre rut starts in southern Illinois??
Hi Quinton! Right around the last few days of October to 11/1

Midwest man!!
I hunt central Louisiana. It’s so different than most can understand. I’m using a cypress slue downwind for boat access.
@@joelbruce7466 yep. Ive hunted all over and very little country looks like where o hunt regularly. Heavy and thick
Question for anyone- I’m hunting public, about a mile back over a bedding area in a transition zone. Still hunt opening day or wait???
