    That was an amazingly informative details guide on how to do a brake job on the jeep. I also have to commend you for taking the time to explain everything and the wonderful camera work. Nice job

    No retaining screw for the rotor...I like that!!!

    When you remove the old rotor to help with future removal either a dab is Anti-Seize on the rotor hub or in the case of the O-ring then a small coating of silicone based lubricant usually same grease as the slide pins.

    The allen head socket for the front caliper bolts is 11MM - typically not found in sets.

    Great video man, this helped a lot and was exactly what I was looking for.
    One note on the large spring clip, I was going round and round to figure out how it kept the outer pad from rattling. I don't believe it does. I think all that large spring clip does is tension the caliper to keep it from rattling. If it does anything to the outer brake pad, I'm clueless as to how that works. It doesn't touch the brake pad at all.

    I did my brakes several times but I keep forgetting how to remove that metal thing that holds the outer pad. THANKS!

    The caliper mounting bolts on 2016 GC are different ==! It's really annoying the manufacturer keep changing those bolts and we have to buy different sets of sockets...

      Hi, I didn't put it in because there's often a slight difference between makes and models. I think it was a 7?

      Hi Mark. I did this a long time ago so my memory doesn't go that far back :) You'll have to just use trial and error!

    Are the front rotors 330mm or 350mm

    • @outdoorsman6896
      @outdoorsman6896 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The front rotors are 350mm on the heavy duty brake package (incl. with the 5.7L Hemi and/or tow package), excludes SRT and Trackhawk models.

      @@outdoorsman6896 thanks i just chsnged mines on 2015 jeep grand cherokee overland 3.6l. Tje store gave me 350mm vented front and 330mm solid rear. The 350mm were bigger then the stock ones so i went back to the store and it was 330mm vented fronts and 330mm solid rears.

    • @DougBrownVancouver
      @DougBrownVancouver  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      For anyone watching, use 11mm or 7/16" which is more or less the same size.
