Took me home! Just a few history notes, The water level in the locks you went through is gravity raised from Gatun lake and lower by draining into the next lower lock till the chambers are equally level. Then the chambers doors swing into depressions in the walls allowing ships to pass to the next chamber. water passes from the lowest chamber and mixes with either ocean. I love American engineering!

Another Panama Canal video. Like to watch them. Born and raised there in the Panama Canal Zone. Been through there many times. Grandfather was a tool maker machinist in the industrial division, dad was a cop, boarding officer, customs, then finished career as an admeasurer. Spent loads of time fishing, spear fishing both oceans. Good vid!
Thats it! I'm going to take passage through the canal on the on the smallest vessel I can find! I'll do it for Mom, because we never did it despite having it as a goal... Great job Captain!
Wow Barry what a cool video. I’m a land lover never been to sea . I’m sure enjoying your adventures. I live on the on the north shore of Great Slave Lake in Canada’s Arctic. I’ve only been on a sail boat once and it was a great experience. I did a day trip with a outfitter who took people out on a 4 hour sail . I was kind of weird because the boat was clipping along with out any sound. I’m used to motor boats and the sound of the motor . The trip through the channel was amazing. I got to see first hand how ships navigate the channel . Big thumbs up 👍 . From your land lover in Yellowknife Northwest Territories

the first time i passed the canal i was 18 years old and the last 55 years all the passages total all these years 153 times what toy you rememper me my friend
I've watched about 6 panama canal crossings. The least expensive was Zingaro , not sure how he did it for so little. He was sending out emails, I think to patrons, showing his expenses. The guy is really creative and he and his girl friend both speak Spanish and she, German. that might help. Occasionally I would let TH-cam carry me along into something to do with a big ship, like pilots getting on those ships ! Crazy what they have to do when trying to jump on ! And, a few accidents. Never small boats or cruisers though. Once you've committed to this, your definitely committed most likely to a world journey. Big jump in life.

We are deep in the harbor ( where you can dodge more "roros"; another name for the car carriers like that monster behind you and container ships) but there are reasonably priced guest slips in San Pedro closer in to everything.
