Your camera work throughout the whole series is totally amazing considering the circumstances sailing singlehanded in some very tough situations. Your patience and perseverance is exemplary. Well done, sailor!

    Happy!
You’re cool ol’ Sea dog. Thanks for sharing adventures, this makes a break up north when you just want to dream away. Maybe this is the key to happiness...
If you like. Please visit Gros Islet on Saint Lucia. Such a happy place. Lots of locals and music. At least once a month they have a night party. Drums in the street and tasty Macaroni Cheese.
And also Cas-en-Bas on the opposite side. Great people beautiful beach 🏖 Fair Winds

Your entrance to Colon brought back some real memories. I was a Cadet Officer on board the NZS Training ship Rakaia in 1958/9 and steered through that gap late, late at night having done the day shift on the wheel through the canal. Leaving Colon after we had taken on fresh water, I was called from my bunk with just a couple of minutes to wake up. The Pilot said "Hard to Port". I thought he meant Starboard so turned the wheel the wrong way and very nearly squashed a tug boat. !!!! The Captain understood my tiredness and defended me against a very angry Pilot. To make sure I had not lost confidence he got the Pilot for the Cape Cod canal to let me steer through that canal with no instructions. So many thanks for the memories and Good Luck with the Pacific. Try visiting an atoll called Vanavana. Interesting. Regards and best wishes Michael Chartres

Barry, thanks for sharing your adventures. If you did not know a good way to move a sailboat with a dinghy with motor is do a 'hip-tow'. You would tie off the dinghy on one side aft of the centerline of length, the reason for this is the sailboat will have way more drag than the dinghy and you would spin in circles no matter how much helm you put in to the sailboat. By putting the boat aft of center the dinghy will be pointing out and away and counter-act some of the drag of the sailboat. One can then just add a little helm to counteract any left over imbalance and do all the steering from the sailboat, it works really well. This the same position that any larger boat would use, say a tow service. Tie off using at least two lines. Happy trails brother.

Love that rough coastline, Cape sea dog to the rescue, good job! If he was moaning about being ripped off an extra $12 bucks, You better get the defib unit ready for the next bill, what these land pirates have in store for the old sea dog makes me mad. As long as the sea dog has a few beers to reduce the shock, when he gets that final bill sitting on that map table, He should be fine.

    • @Josef_R

Good job with the assistance in the rescue. BAU around it and yep, had heard before how expensive Panama can be for yachties. Fond memories of the Panama Canal ( Panama City side ) along with the Suez Canal just watching ships coming and going through ambitious giants of engineering feats constructed yester-year. Good luck with the transit through the Canal. Guess you'll be doing as much of the organizing, without the need for an agent, by yourself like RAN sailing.... ?.

Hey Berry, this goes back a few videos when you decommissioned your water tanks. At the time I was going to ask why you didn't make them into diesel tanks? The reason I ask is it seems the price of diesel varies a lot from country to country so you could save a lot, plus gain an extremely long range motor yacht.
For an example, I saw where Ecuador's diesel was about $1.50 a gallon. I realize you're going North(I think) so the cheap diesel there won't do you much good. A word to the wise, buy your fuel BEFORE you hit California. Oregon is much cheaper and Mexico is better yet.
