    Doctor I don't have pain but a cracking like sound wen I sit and get up..do I need to take a xray??I walk daily..can u suggest any tablets for calcium..my vit D also very low

    • @dr.anuragsportsphysiotherapist
      @dr.anuragsportsphysiotherapist 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Crackling sound can develop because of knee cap(patella) rubbing on your femur (thigh bone) also, tight front thigh muscles add to this problem.
      Foam rolling the front thigh muscles, stretching and strengthening the muscles around the knee and hip will help you alot

    Dr.I have been taking CARTIMOVE which has 750 mg Glucosamine which was prescribed by my doctor n every week Nanoferol Vitamin D3 n Beuno Cal. I have been taking this for over three years. Is it advisable to take the same for long period as I am suffering from osteoarthritis for many years. I am a senior citizen. Of late i noticed that when I go for walks. My knees pain n I get the feeling of cracking when I get up after sitting for long. Is it becoz of continuous medication of CARTIMOVE n NANOFEROL ? PLEASE ADVISE.

      It's important to do knee strengthening exercises along with medication.
      Age related changes in the bones cannot be reversed but exercises will definitely reduce the pain to a great extent.

      As Our Physio has suggested- exercises and weight loss are very important .
      Evidence shows that in early osteoarthritis collagen and glucosamine have a moderate role to play .
      No evidence in later cases .
      Please let me know if you need further assistance.

      @@DrSanthoshJacob Thanks doctor. I think I will have to undergo knee replacement surgery. I am 63 years n I plan to go abroad but with this pain, n the cold weather, I fear it will be bad for me. Is it advisable to go fir knee replacement surgery at this age. I have also been doing physio exercises at home but to no avail. Doctors have advised that finally knee replacement has to be done.

    • @DrSanthoshJacob

      A knee replacement surgery surgery is a great option once you’ve exhausted all the non surgical options .
