You forgot one thing about the Eclipse and that is that it had a miniature superlaser attached to it's bow that could one-shot kill large vessels and burn continents. Basically the Star Wars equivalent of the Wave Motion Gun.
That's only if its in its line of sight. Think of the Ion Cannon frigates of Homeworld. Powerful wave motion guns that are wonderfully powerful weapons but the only way to use them properly is to basically point the ship directly at the enemy and hope to god they don't flank you faster than your ship can turn in time. . The same would be true of the Eclipse although granted its far more protected and far better armed. For me my best chance would be to flank the Eclipse on her stern and use the Executor to shred the ships engines apart and then wear her down. best way is luring her into a gravity well of some kind.
At this point, the Elipse would just be a big, fancy toy for its CO. Might as well have fun with it.
Don’t forget it could be used like we see the UNSC infinity do in a Halo 4 cutscene
Wonder how this fleet would do against Eckhartsladder's fleet
Eck's fleet would have nearly undestructable flagship armed with superlaser. It dosen't mater what ship you have if you stand aginst Eclipse 2.
Eck's fleet is a lot more diverse. It's likely that one Eclipse is going to blast the other one out of the sky almost immediately, like a Terrakion winning the speed tie and OHKOing another Terrakion with Close Combat. I play a lot of Pokémon. Then, the actual battle begins. If Alan's Eclipse strikes first, then it's a close mach, but Ecks eventually wins thanks to his much more comprehensive fleet. If Eck is able to take out Alan first, then Eck's fleet will dominate.

Eckartsladder is way more competent. Allen would probably try to ram Eck's Eclipse with his own Eclipse but it'd get shot and be destroyed. Allen's battlecruisers would hold up against Eck's battlecruisers. The Resurgent class battlecruiser is extremely powerful and has good shields. While the Allegiance is also powerful and the Praetor extremely tanky, I might give this one to Allen. For mainline cruisers, Allen would get outgunned here as MC 90s are more powerful with weaponry and have stronger hulls than the MC 80s. Carrier wise, both use venators but Allen would have much more of them, Eckartsladder opted to use Quasar's as carriers. I did some maths and Quasar's were more affordable pound for pound and by nearly 5 times. Eckartsladder wins here. Allen's frigates are really more like destroyers, they're too big to be frigates. Eckartsladder has Victory class star destroyers. It's quite clear that Eck takes this round as well. It takes 3 or more Munificents to defeat a venator and Victories have more weapons than Venators. For Frigates and Corvettes, Allen has the Hammerhead Corvette while Eck has Nebulon B's and Modified CR90s with an emphasis on starfighter screening. While the hull strength of the Hammerhead and it's thrust power is impressive, the Nebulon B's have more firepower and the CR 90's are even faster and more maneuverable. This one also goes to Eck. Unfortunately I couldn't remember what starfighters Eckartsladder used. But if it wasn't clear, Eckartsladder wins 8.7/ 10

Alan, we already have an amazing space station. If you can get over the fact that its older than your car, smells funny (you can't air it out) the Russian sections are only good for storage, its cluttered with space junk and it has metal eating bacteria, its still a wonderful achievement!

The Resurgence class is a bit over the top though, but I don't think the Eclipse is the best
It is the best actually. Since the fleet deals with most of the problem, the Eclipse's job is to be tanky, hard to kill, while scaring the shit out of the enemy.
Which it does very well. (Super Lazer, Extremely Thick Hull, Good Shielding, Generally seeming very menacing with it's massive black armored body.)

Eclipse, yes. Resurgent, yes. Venator, yes. Raider, yes. Skipray, yes. Beyond that, I would drop the CIS 'frigate' (thing is nearly the size of a Victory). Take the Victory as a cruiser. Add some Interdictor and Gozanti support. And flavor with one of my favorite legends, the Carrack light cruiser. Just love that ship for whatever superfluous reason. Of course fill everything to the brim with TIE/D's and Xm-1's.
For heavy cruisers I'd take Katana Dreadnaught heavy cruisers, versatile, tough ships. The Empire version with more torpedo launchers, yeah.
The victory, as you said, Is a cruiser, a bad One, It could be the best frigate but It's not, the munificent Is a frigate and It's way cheaper to produce, and mantain

I would use Lucerhulk as my carrier
Otto Honkasalo a good idea but lucerhulks can't take care of themselves in the way that venators can(I mean one was destroyed by an 8 year old that liked spinning by accident;)
Rubicon Prime yeah but that was early refit and Lucerhulk has more guns and stronger shields than Venator. It is everyway better alone than Venator. Same way could Anakin land to the Venators main hangar bay and destroy The Venator.

Also I the lukerhulk is a for droid fighters, while the venators is more for organically piloted starfighters, and concidering the lineup already had the frigate(a pretty good droid carrier) and most of the starfighters were organically piloted to begin with, it just makes more sense to take the venators as the lead carrier
I repeat myself again. Venator is better. Faster, lighter and better equipped. Lucerchulks had only light weapons in the form of 48 lasers. Of course, new ones were added over time, but for comparison miunificent has 38. Their shields were not the best so their resistance is focused on the hull. As for the fighters, I've made it earlier. Those who are curious about the sources, I refer to the Ekhart ladder.

Owszem, z czasem dodawano nowe, ale dla porównania miunificent ma ich 38. Ich osłony nie były najlepsze więc ich odporności jest skupiona na kadłubie. I like the way you used the modern Earth navies for context. It's not always easy to get that just from the movies.
The problem lies in the fact that space warfare is quite different from naval warfare. A gunboat isn't as much of a benefit in Star Wars.
Actually, as laid out in Star Wars there isnt much difference, especially since they whole thing is based off the genal WW2 time period naval warfare where small fast aircraft became the major factor in most battles.
In fact a case could be made that gunboats are exactly what the rebellion needed, they were never going to be able to slug it out, on even terms, with the empire, so they needed massive number of guns hitting the target as soon as possible, destroy it and then GTFO, rinse and repeat.
With limited manpower, you could man maybe 100 gunboats, each with say a sigle heavy turbo laser battery, or one large ship with maybe a dozen batteries. It's easy to see the gunboat wolfpacks dammage output would greatly exceed what the single ship could do. Additionally smaller and faster ships would be easier to aquire and hide, and after a strike they could fly iff in multiple directions forcing anyone coming after them to either waste an entire fleet going after a few small ships that went one direction, or split up the fleet to go after many of the small groups, which would then allow the groups to coordinate strikes against the smaller groups if enemy ships, and pick them apart piecemeal
The best part of the Eclipse is the blade shaped prow?! So, no mention that it has a superlaser that can vaporize a capital ship? Okay then.
You can ram one Mon Calamari ship with the blade-shaped prow, and simultaneously use the superlaser to blast another! Efficient engineering at its finest.
you could also use the providence class dreadnought, or the trade federation lucrehulk class battleship as a carrier because of their roomy hangars and their great firepower
I really wanna see a strategic versus match between Generation Tech and Eckhart's Ladder. All-out conflict over the capture of a system of many different kinds of planet.
FS : Eclipse, A few Resurgent's , a few Vindicators , The Home one , a few Nebulon B2 frigiates , a lot of blackade runners , a few Raider classes

Great choices here. I did guess right on which carrier, and corvette you would pick. :) This is a solid fleet. I think the Quasar Carrier would still be good to have. It would serve well with smaller fleets for lesser actions that would not require a larger fleet, or a quick response type fleet. This would save costs, but I know how much you like to make a show of force. Humanity First always. Long live the Terran Empire.

Yeah I'd count it as a small cruiser, which leaves the frigate option open
Personally, instead of the Quasar Fire-class bulk carrier, I would use the Ton Falk-class. It is 160 meters longer than the Quasar Fire, but with a substantially higher capacity of 72 fighters.
These are all good options but it seems that a Malevolence class ship would make for a better flagship as it has a decent capacity and specialized weaponry that could turn the tide of a battle

The only changes I would make to your fleet design would be to incorporate the Lucrehulk as a Battle-Carrier (A Battleship with high carrying capacity), the Bellator as a "small" dreadnaught, and the Viscount as a "large" dreadnaught.
Would keep everything else you mentioned in the video the same.
Also need Interdictor best girl ! She can deal with all the pesky Light Speed Flies !

You forgot about the destroyer escort. As they were good for anti sub warfare in WW2 and in star wars you might need an anti stealth ship to ecort carriers and flagships.
Even though the Venator was considered a capital ship I think it was miss classed.
It was a fairly sub par Ship of the line and it was easy to out gun these ships.
However as long as it is used in its main capacity aka A CARRIER it becomes one of the best ships ever made.
With the ability to carry 400 ships it easily out performs any other carrier even most that are much larger than it.
As a battleship its firepower sucks, but if you compare it to almost all other carriers it has amazing firepower!
At the end of the republic there were TENS OF THOUSANDS of these ships laying around! If the empire hadn't been retarded they would have paired ever Venator to a Star Destroyer and put several on each Super Star Destroyer!
This would have probably won the war for the empire since it would have instantly removed the Rebels fighter superiority with overwhelming fighter numbers in every single engagement.
However the Empire got cocky and forgot how to strategy.
Yeah, if even one of these had been assigned with the Star Destroyer at Yavin, then whole game would have been over fir the rebels.

Don't forget the Eclipse's superlaser! Not as powerful as the one on either Death Star obviously, but still capable of annihilating ships in one or two shots.

The ISD is more of a heavy cruiser than a Battleship. The ship you placed in the Heavy Cruiser class, the MC80, was roughly equal in capability.
The Venator doesn’t get enough credit as a capital ship. It may not have enough of it, but it’s offensive weaponry was really good for the time it was used in. Just look at basically any Clone Wars episodes. You would have 5-7 Munificents against the 3(sometimes 4) Venators, and the Venators often won.
Do those really count for this discussion? I mean the Venators in The Clone Wars Show are reinforced by heavy plot armor
Grand Moff Tarkin was so full of hubris and arrogant to a fault, he wouldn't even entertain the smallest doubt that a way could be found to undermine the Death Star's defences. I think his hubris was second only to Director Krennic's, a dangerous situation. Vader was right to doubt it. After all it's power was insignificant, next to the power of the Force. The Force can bring down a Star Destroyer.
I actually would have a mixture on my fleet.
Star Cruisers: MC75, MC80, MC90
Assault Ship/Carrier: Aclimator / Venator
Battleship/Battlecruiser : Lucrehulk, Mandator III/Belator, Maloevalence /Subjugator , Resurgence
Heavy Cruises: Dreadnought class, Munificent Class
Support Frigate: Nebulon B and C, Pelta Class, MC30
Corvette: Raider Class [Corvus], Hammerhead, CR-90, Free Virgillia-Class Bunkey Buster,
Star Destroyer: Victory I
I like your choices. But I would choose the Harrower Dreadnaught for my frigate class ship, even thought in the time it was used it was a heavy cruiser.
Was he talking about the mc80 home one type or the liberty type?
My ideal fleet consists of CR-90s refitted to deal with starfighters,Venators as carriers, Munificent-class frigates, Resugent-class battle cruisers, Mandator 4 ships for orbital bombardment and/or as mini Eclipses, and either an MSD or an Executor-Class. I don't pick the eclipse because a:it's too easy, and b: you can just use Mandator 4s. Using an MSD/Executor SSD provides more safety for the ship itself and the MSD would basically be its own planet.

The Raider Class in Star Wars Battlefront kind of reminds me of the USS Voyager from Star Trek Voyager.
Carried roughly the same amount of crew, sleek, fast, easy in easy out. But instead of take 75 years to reach home, it could take about a week in the Raider. She’s armed roughly the same.
For the Carrier Class you that I recognized that is better than the vejatorio is the Lucrehulk Class Battleship. Of the one at the battle of naboo,I’m talking about the one in the battle of ryloth
Alan you forgot the fact that the Eclipse had a superlaser in the middle equivalent of a mini death star. Also cool list but I would rathr take the Zann Consortium's corvette cause it has better anti starfighter weapons and a point defense system that destroys missile which no other corvette or ship seems to have.

The Interdictor is essential. Keeps ships from jumping to light speed and pulls ships from hyperspace. You were thinking in terms of today’s Navy.

Totally agree. The Resurgence Class Star Destroyer is one of the few things I like out of the new Trilogy.
MC-80's typically fielded 32 - 36 Turbolasers and 24 PD lasers. Only Home One (The one you keep showing which for the record is larger than a SD) had more and could take a SD one on one. It rolled with 84 turbolasers.

I would use an extremely heavily modified imperial 1 class star destroyer with half offensive and defensive capabilities such as heavy turbolasers and point defense laser cannons and a full fighter complement of modified tie interceptors and regular tie bombers.
It saddens me that we will likely never see ships like the Viccount class star defender or the Eclipse star dreadnought on the big screen.
Could you design the perfect starfighter ?I think more of a jedi interceptor cockpit , x wing s foils but curved fowards and rotating wings like the gauntlet
Take away the rotating and you basically have a Chiss clawcraft.

Tartan Patrol Cruisers and Broadside Cruisers are pretty powerful.
My favorite Star Wars ship (in Canon) is the MC80 Home One class
Sense this is a fancy fleet for the Carrier roll I would have to pick from a different sci-fi chain and use Mercury Class Battlestars such as Pegasus and I leave Admiral Cane in command. And yes we will find away to make the fighters work with it
The raider corvette would be my main corvette, the acquaintance as my light cruiser or frigate.
The best carrier was the CIS Lucrehulk-class battleship. It carried literally thousands of Vulture Droids and Tri-Fighters.
The Resurgent-class star destroyer is an awesome ship, glad you chose it

I think id want a few lancer class anti-starfighter frigates as well for covering larger ships "blind spots"
Funny you mention the Skipray GAT -12, it was small enough to be a fighter, but it had such an enormous power output and was so heavily armed and shielded that registries actually considered it a capital ship by itself!
And I'm not sure if I'd choose a Resurgent-class destroyer. One of the huge weaknesses of the Imperial-class destroyers that can't be overlooked is the huge blindspot at the stern of the ship. If the Resurgent is as exposed from behind, I would replace it with a Mon Calamari destroyer. I would also customize each of those ships to, like Mon Calamari ships, have redundant shielding to make it last longer in battle. I do approve of your star defender choice.
For the record. MC-80's had great shields for their size. In the end a SD still had more overall shielding.
And... With the Eclipse you also get a hyperspace torpedo system with torpedoes the size of small freighters and transports that had hyperspace motivators. Hit targets from star systems away.

the smaller ships like the transport and skip ray were included in the fighter and troop section so won't be talked about much here.
i'd again be making my own ships, at least in part.
gravity well platform: most of the existing ships for this role are small and can be taken out relatively easily, instead i'd put the generator in a ship that was built around shields and armor. think Mon Calamari cruiser with no cargo/fighter capacity, no heavy guns but sporting a gravity well generator.
in addition to this i'd use smaller non-ship gravity well platforms to protect important systems or choke points in my territory. the most minimal i could get a gravity well generator, just sitting out in space. easy to take out, but would keep forces from just jumping to a critical planet and slipping in infiltrators, or conducting an advance raid against critical defense structures. one could even use them to deploy a trap with them and keep a force from jumping by dropping a few of these, at least until they are taken out.
carriers: i'd use clone war era venator class for my escort carriers, capable of operating on their own due to be being an all round ship. given the nature of the fighters this is important as this would give it plenty of offensive capability via bombers, as well as missile defense via point defense fighters. thus more emphasis would be placed on its anti-fighter role over its anti-capitol ship role, so faster firing smaller guns, or more smaller guns than current.
the heavy carrier would be the Lucrehulk-class ship, beefed up with extra shielding, and teh cargo room focused on just fighter support (traditionally it had 1,500 fighters, but i'd double this at the expense of all the ground troop space).
battleships/dreadnoughts: for main planet bombardment and overall heavy gun support i'd go with the eclipse class dreadnought, with its small deathstar laser and extra heavy shielding/armor. obviously i couldn't have too many of these, but would i need to?
a battlecruiser in the same vein as the majestic class would be the bulk of the battleship role ships in my fleet, heavy shields, and a mixed bag of anti-fighter and anti-capitol ship weapons. some built in point defense, and a small complement of fighters would round this out to make it able to be quite flexible in many situations. the big downside is a lack of cargo space for provisions and thus would be reliant on supply ships for longer missions, which is fine.
the last heavy capitol ship would be a light cruiser with light turbolasers, and quad laser cannons, without anti-capitol ship capability. built to deal with heavy fighters, swarms of fighters, and small picket ships would act as a heavy picket ship with plenty of shielding to handle adverse situations. i feel such would be needed due to the expensive eclipse class ships in the fleet.
lighter picket ships: crusader corvettes would act as an elite anti-starfighter platform for the fleet, though carrack cruisers would act as the main picket ship. the crusader corvette is very expensive, and the carrack is very cheap. the carrack does both anti-star fighter and anti-capitol ship duties, making it a very flexible choice for the bulk of the fleet.
patrol craft: a militarized corellian corvette (such as the CR92) would act as a standard anti-fighter patrol craft. fast enough to catch X-wings and armed well enough to deal with most fighters this would allow great anti-fighter ability on its own without the need for fighter support. a carrack cruiser built with just anti-capitol ship duties in mind would be the other patrol craft, similar to the dreadnaught class light cruiser this would act as a deterrent to small fleet incursions.
upgraded kyramud dropships be used as an atmospheric baseship. a heavy weapons platform with heavy shielding and plenty of cargo room for troops, vehicles, and army support (maintenance bays, medical centers, etc.). not very maneuverable, it would need escort to a planet, but once dropped it would be like having a fully functioning base planetside. most importantly due to heavy use of droids in the army this would have a droid control center to ensure smooth operation of the droids in the field.
the only other ship worth mentioning at this point would be the use of bulk cruisers as supply ships. probably quasar fire class bulk transports. they would probably be used as salvage ships as well to grab the debris from battles so strip and process them to minimize expenses in repair for the fleet.

I agree with most except corvette using the raider for screening is more practical and would be placed on the outer ring and i would use both the resurgence class and victory class staggered in formation

You say you want the bigger battleship but then you choose the resurgent instead of the subjugator. And if you say the Malevolence was experimental, the ion cannons could be taken out and the 500 turbo lasers on the front would still be there. Or if you say it actually was an unspoken contender for the flagship, their designation was either heavy cruiser or battleship depending on the source, never a dreadnaught like the executor or eclipse. A good Cruiser-crusher with or without ion cannons would be great for any fleet.

@Christopher DeRaadt/Da Rat The hyperspace tracker requires a sensor or something like that to be in hyperspace itself so gravity wells would interfere with that function. It *might* explain the hyperspace ramming situation but in that case they should've disabled the hyperspace tracker and disable the possibility of the ram. There might be the explaination that gravity well tech was lost but IDK, the first order should be capable of reinventing such tech unless the resources required to make gravity wells are scarce in the unknown regions.

I would have added the Lucrehulk class for a heavy carrier/mobile support and supply base, since it has great armor, point defense, loads of space for fighters and for cargo, too. Also, where are your interdictors????
The eclipse unlike the star destroyer could not fire all turbo-lasers effectively, I would go with the Terror, an executor-class star destroyer with a clocking device, that carried TIE Phantom star fighters.

I like how Alan doesn't even mention the Eclipse's massive firepower or axeal superlaser. The flagship is basically a novelty, anyways, so why not just have a ship that's basically a seventeen kilometer long toy.
Well you Said that some factions could not field a LOT of battleships so heavy cruisers were good becuse one of the could change the tide of a battle thats some what True for the subjugator class heavy cruiser becuse one of them could change the tid of a battle but smaller factions could not field many of them
Yeah... Battlecruiser is a better choice of words for the subjugator, or even a small dreadnought. A heavy cruiser would be something like the Victory, or the Dauntless, not a nearly 5 km long ship with a superweapon capable of taking out entire fleets.

I like your choices for the gunboat, carrier, commando base, frigate, and battlecruiser, but I would prefer to use the crusader corvette, the Nebula-class star destroyer and the MC90's for the cruiser, and I would have a mix of Bellator and viscounts for my dreadnought. I would upgrade the ships to include Mass Driver and MAC cannons because they are extremely effective against capital ships and starfighters, most starfighters only have ray shields, not particle shields so would be knocked out of the fight by light MAC cannons, also, I'm fairly certain that a large chunk of metal flying at near light speed can knock the bridge off of a star destroyer or go straight through the hull of one. I also think lancer frigates are perfect
