That's my mower! Every couple of years I've had to spend about $100 on parts to fix one thing or another - and parts are readily available. Just fixed the steering link and put new blades on for about $50 total - it works like brand new. And the nearest equivalent of a new one is over $2,200 so I feel like I just saved two grand.
I like my Poulan Pro. I had a Dynamark that I bought used about 25 years and the engine finally got weak so I retired it and got a Poulan, which looked to be constructed about the same as the Dynamark I had. I figured if the Dynamark lasted as long as it did, the poulan should last until I'm in my grave. It seems to be well built and does a great job.
[ thank you for youre video I just bought a poulan pro lawn tractor with the yellow deck it's the real deal I learned something today from you about the poulan pro lawn tractor 💯 %
I can see the appeal for this mower. There are many cosmetic differences, with relation to the dash & some controls differ, slightly. I have a McCulloch M14538 (14 HP Intek, 38" cut), Peerless 6 speed, made by Husqvarna in their Orangeburg, South Carolina factory in 2011. It's been in Australia ever since. I'm the second owner, since the end of 2015. The original owner had it for (less than) it's first 4 years. It's still running as good as it was when it was built, as it should, when well maintained. That mower would be one of the last made under the (then) Electrolux owned Husqvarna. Husqvarna became independent again in 2006. They make Poulan, Jonesred, Klippo (now called Husqvarna Klippo), which is why so many parts are interchangeable.
very good video. and good knowledge, so the heavy duty deck part is different to my prouland tractor, mine is original but your sounds better, how I can get one , where you got it ? and how is the procedure to replace original with a heavy duty deck...sounds as hard task
Greetings, I have a 2002 model and am trying to replace the stationary clutch idler pulley. It loos like the bolt goes through the frame and has a nut on top. I think it is covered by the steering gear drive assembly. Do I have to take all that out just to replace this pulley?! (I'll also try your email.)
Hi, I need help , I’m trying to replace my trans drive belt on my 54” deck 2006 Poulan Pro and I can’t get the tension pulley to budge in order to get the belt on …..
I have a popular for it for free from my neighbor but she won’t turn over at all no power nothin changed some things and still nothing what else could it possibly be any suggestions ?
Never disable that switch. If the blades are off and the parking brake is set you can get off the mower with the engine still running. If you disable this switch you may get off with the blades still spinning and it is very easy to have your toes tuck under the deck.
I got one like this for free. I was able to adjust the valves and bypass the safety switches so the motor runs great. But it seems to be stuck in gear. Will stop if I let go of the break, and won’t move forward nor revers. Please help me.
