Because it didn't "abandon" slavery. There was a process that started. You don't just "abandon" something like slavery. It would be just like asking to abandon banking today. We know how abandoning slavery went for the UK and later on, for the US. Read its history. When UK made slavery illegal, other people were tricked into indentured labour to replace slaves. their children still live in the Caribbean (example: trinidad) and other former british colonies. And for the US.... well we know how that went. The hatred and the divide exists to this day. That is what happens when slavery is "abandoned"...

Find me a book older than 150 years that criticized Prophet Muhammad S.A.W. marriage to Hazrat Aisha R.A. or Maria R.A. This is a very recent thing. 200 years ago they criticized him for giving daughters property rights knowing that daughters have nothing to do with the farmland that the father left, since they're married by the time they're 12-13 yr old. What I understood this problem of women being oppressed throughout world(and this is happening in less religious countries too), one main reason I found is being financial dependent and iliteracy. Twenty seven (27) battles from the twenty nine (29) battles were fought with the attendance of the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) himself not as a fighter, but rather a leader or something else with only nine (9) of them being fought by the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) himself using his sword which are : The battle of Badr (2 Hijri). The battle of Uhud (3 Hijri). The battle of Al-Khandaq (5 Hijri). The battle of Banu Qurayzah (5 Hijri). The battle of Al-Mustalaq (5 Hijri). The battle of Khaybar (7 Hijri). Fath Mekkah (8 Hijri). The battle of Haneen (8 Hijri). The battle of Al-Ta'ef (9 Hijri). Although the scholars opinions differ on the number of the battles that the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) attended, but most of them agree that twenty seven (27) were attended by the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) with nine (9) battles from them being fought by the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) himself. This guy can not simply say islam abandoned slavery.
Because it didn't "abandon" slavery. There was a process that started. You don't just "abandon" something like slavery.
It would be just like asking to abandon banking today.
We know how abandoning slavery went for the UK and later on, for the US. Read its history. When UK made slavery illegal, other people were tricked into indentured labour to replace slaves. their children still live in the Caribbean (example: trinidad) and other former british colonies.
And for the US.... well we know how that went. The hatred and the divide exists to this day.
That is what happens when slavery is "abandoned"...

No woman of Banu Qurayza was killed except one. She was with me, talking and laughing on her back and belly (extremely), while the Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) was killing her people with the swords. I don’t understand that too but I googled in Quran it’s there that you can keep concubines . This is all very confusing because then how come Quran in contradicting itself ?
