You are a life saver! I have a day of quilting with friends today, and I wanted a small project. I wondered what I could do with a single Honey Bun in my stash. Guess what? I also have two tone-on-tone white charm packs. Thanks to you I am all set for the day--now, I just need to think of a casserole to take. Thank you, Barbara!

Your tutorials are truly stupendous! I have learned so much over the years, watching your videos! Donna, you're a wonderful teacher and we are all truly blessed to be able to attend your virtual classes. I also enjoy the daily sale emails with the customer project photos. It's fun to see what others are making and their colorways -- kind of like a virtual quilt guild meeting. My budget doesn't allow me to purchase all the lovely fabric on sale every day, but I certainly try to support your online store when I'm able to. Thank you again for these wonderful videos!

As many others have said, I really enjoy and look forward to your tutorials - what's particularly great about them is that you sound (and clearly, are) so expert and enthusiastic about all aspects of quilting, without being "patronising" . I especially enjoy how you treat colours, and you emphasize that even in a planned quilt you can get a 'scrappy' look - trying too hard to get things to coordinate I think takes some of the charm away, it might be a pre-printed fabric if one does that... This video pattern makes a really great impact wall hanging (glad that in the final version, you took those light strips out of the central star!)... Interesting that you say the fabric you've chosen is one for all winter, I am just making your 'Ribbons' quilt out of that very fabric from your shop, as a Christmas present, I hope the recipient will snuggle in it all winter and not just at Christmas (however, now I've seen your holly quilting pattern, that's what I want for mine!) Keep inspiring us, Donna - you're a ray of light in dark times.

Quite true. Instead of all those "professionals" trying so hard to be the next sewing queen, Donna is more like a good friend from college days coming over to your house to show you how to make a quilt the right way. When Donna does a quilt, it's all about you and a quilt, unlike like the "all about me and my brand" girls (some of whom do sloppy work). In fact, she does endorse having fun instead of perfection, but also doesn't let you stumble down a bog hole and wind up with another UFO.
It must get tiresome for her to repeat the same steps and tips in all her videos, but she teaches as if this is your first quilt. Others act like they're the grand guru and you're supposed to remember every detail (I watched one recently where the woman kept quoting a quilting magazine ARTICLE about herself from last year !!! Gee whiz, Cookie, I have a life of my own.) I live on the opposite coast, but once we can all get on the road again, I'm seriously thinking about heading northwest. Maybe Donna can plan a new workshop so we can all meet!!!!

This is what I do: machine sew a hanging sleeve into the top edge under the binding (the width of the quilt less an inch or so, and then hand-stitch the sides and bottom, making it "D" shaped. Then you just slip in a wood dowel and hang it with drywall screws.

This wall hanging looks absolutely amazing on your wall. For those of us extremely visual quilters, this is a huge bonus. But, must add that all of your videos are terrific, this just puts the icing on the cake so to speak. Though I have quilted 30+ years and often create my own quilts, I eagerly watch (sometimes rewatch) your videos. And have become a fan of Cozy Quilts. I actually have 2 patterns to make up for Christmas gifts. Jordan Quilts has added as much to the quilt community as the rotary cutter. And yes I was quilting way before that innovation. Add my voice to how much I love how you use color and patterns together. The both of you are very gifted and talented; packaged up with fun loving personalities that shine with each video you make. Blessings to the entire family as all of you so generously bless us.

Tip: When sewing strips (1 1/2”, 2 1/2”, 3 1/2”) together the first thing I do is to cut them in half. Not only does this eliminate the wonkyness but it actually gives you more variety in your stripsets as you can mix and match more different strips together.

I live in Texas. I appreciate the prayers!! Thank you! I found a job and start on the 14th of this month. I have a Husqvarna that I love. It has been a work horse for the past 26 years. I’m hoping it just needs a good cleaning. We purchased a Singer Quantum during Singers sale and it should be here Saturday. I’m hoping it’s a good machine - the reviews on it were good. I will have my other machine serviced in a few weeks and hopefully I will have two good machines then.

My husband bought me a Singer Quantum the is supposed to be delivered tomorrow. I received a job offer yesterday that starts in a week so plan on taking my Husqvarna in and getting it serviced next month. I will then have two machines which is a GOOD thing!! Y’all have safe travels and thank you again for your offer.

I sewed all my 35 strip sets together, with my Janome machine which has a scant 1/4" foot....nice straight seams, but wider than the pattern specifies. This is no problem---just center the 5" squares on your cut strip set sections, and trim to size. For my next quilt I will simply cut the squares to be 5.5".

Thank you for another wonderful tutorial. Only thing I didn’t like was not being able to try one of your delicious looking honey buns! 🤣🤣. Thank you for using honey bun strips. I’d forgotten all about them as the jelly rolls seem to have taken over the precut world. Thank you also for your very generous giveaways - so kind of you.

Good afternoon Ms. Donna! I randomly clicked on a video of yours a few months back and was instantly hooked and decided to become a quilter! And as usual, the pros make it look so easy! Seriously, sew a straight line, how hard can it be?! Haha 🙂 I am having a huge problem with the size difference in my finished squares/blocks and I’m not sure where my mistakes are. I bought a log cabin table runner kit from you guys and I had so much fabric left over! That was when I figured out my sewing machine presser foot wasn’t 1/4 inch 😏 So I went and bought a new machine and I now also have a 1/4 presser foot. My seam will measure right which means my cutting is off. I don’t get how I can be off so much. I am hoping practice will help, but not knowing where I am making my mistake bothers me. I love your videos and thank you so much for making them. You guys have a great day!

I love the way you rearranged the light strips so they are so beautifully balanced through the quilt.
