    Love this! Instead of buying three charm packs I’m going to use a layer cake and cut it into five inch squares.

    Sitting here with my mouth hanging open. I will be making one of these just because! Happy it is small so I can just give it a try. It might turn into a small wall hanging for our autism class room at school. With nice bright colors! Thank you.

      Check with the shop you bought your machine at. They "should" offer mastery classes for all of the brands they sell. My shop, Sew Yeah Quilting in Las Vegas, NV offers them monthly. My Brother class is next week and I can't wait. It's about a $300 dollar class but free because I bought my machine from them. Even JoAnn's has classes on the better machines.

    • @Str8eeth
      @Str8eeth ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jeannemcmillintwinlakeses3767 So, I had a brother but it kept skipping stitches and they couldn’t find WHY….I ended up biting the bullet and got the Bernina 735….there is a bit of a learning curve with Bernina!!! But, they do offer some classes. I took the Black Bobbin class that gave me the basics, but couldn’t remember much after driving two hours home! (I live in Rural Utah so have to drive to the BIG CITY for everything😩) I need a class where I get to do it, not watch while someone that is very familiar with the machine just quickly runs through it saying “if you push this button you can change this setting). I had so much in my head the only thing I remembered was how to switch a decorative stitch going to the left, to the right! (Which was helpful when I was doing decorative stitches for Christmas!). I know this machine is capable of lots, and I mainly just do piecing…..WHY DID I PAY SO MUCH FOR A MACHINE IF ALL I AM GOING TO DO IS PIECE???🤔🙁🙄 I will never know….but I better start quilting and embroidering soon so I can feel like I haven’t made a 💲huge 💲mistake.

      I use my manual a lot and also check TH-cam for information
      When I started out I made sampler pieces for various stitches
      I made muslin sandwiches with the batting I typically use and sewed samples of stitches. I wrote notes in pen next to each section. Example: straight stitch: sew an inch at the default setting, stop, increase the SL , sew an inch, and repeat. I did the same with the zigzag stitch, marking SL & SL. It’s saved me a lot of time over the years.

    • @melindaostergren8115
      @melindaostergren8115 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Rita: you CAN ruin your machine but you have to work at it! 🙃 Thread it properly, use quality threads and sharp needles, clean and oil it as needed and just PLAY
      Try making some samples. You can use 2 pieces of muslin and just have at it. But most of all just relax and have fun.
