  • I show you guys some of the characteristics relating to the Ford 10-Speed Automatic. I use a 2020 Mustang GT as my example in this video. All of these characteristics are from my experience with my own Mustang with a 10-Speed and brand new dealership vehicles (F-150,Ranger,Expedition,Explorer) with the 10-Speed.

    I had them replace the cam solenoid on the exhaust side of both banks. This solved that rattle sound you hear. Changed the shifting of the transmission and turned the car into a different beast all together. All of the little issues with the transmission disappeared.

    I own a 2021 mustang and approve all points. When I don't let him idle, move forward a little bit and then break immediately, it kicks me from back (i think because of rising rpm)

    About halfway through the video you mentioned the issue with mine which is when its downshifting, it'll pull and lunge and it seems worse the slower the speed so its the worst when I'm almost to a stop or to take a sharp turn, it hangs or pulls and then shoves me forward. I brought it into the dealership and they reset it and that fixed it for less than a day and then it started happening again so I am bringing it back in. Any ideas on what it specifically is or what I should suggest to them?

    Have it flashed or reprogrammed. Its a learning system. I changed the fluid with a filter changer at 40k miles. There was no contamination in the pan. So far the truck shifts smoothly.

    I have a 2020 Mustang GT that downshifts really hard into 3rd when on the brakes and coming to a stop if when its in Sport+ mode or if I have the shifter in sport mode, Almost like it keep the rpms high before downshifting to 3rd and it feels like getting hit from the back of the car. It doesn't do this in normal or any of the other modes. Do you think its a transmission issue? or the factory computer tune in the car when it's in these driving modes?

    Hi there. Recently got a 2018 ecoboost mustang with 10r80. Drives pretty smooth on heavy throttle and on highways. But when i drive it in the city and i am light on the throttle i feel the shift go in at around 30mph. Nothing crazy but that is the point i feel it the most. Like some light back and forth of the car. After that it goes back to smooth again and i might feel it back when it downshifts to a stop but not as frequent as the acceleration part. Should i take it to the dealer just for this or no? The previous cars i drove never noticed something like this but they were not 10r80 transmisions.

    • @JVette01
      @JVette01  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s not unusual to feel the first few shifts in the 10 speed, and to feel it downshift. It should not be harsh though. If it’s excessively harsh, just take it in and explain what it’s doing. They will most likely just reset your adaptive learning tables.

    Also car squats going into gear from park and into reverse throttle is very sensitive.

    • @Booplesn00tgaming
      @Booplesn00tgaming ปีที่แล้ว

      Bucking is normal in sport mode at low speed, so is the throttle sensitivity. Drive mode is for normal driving, sport tries to optimize the shifting to keep the engine in the powerband as much as possible and downshifts for engine braking instead of coasting.

Once my extended powertrain warranty is up, that truck is going bye-bye. The 10R80 transmissions are junk. They can't even make it to 50,000 miles without a major failure. Ford screwed thousands of their customers with these garbage transmission units. This will be the last Ford truck I purchase unless that 10R80 gets replaced with a more reliable transmission.

    I just had the entire transmission assembly replaced on my 2020 F150 under warranty. Only 26,000 miles. Internal failure causing a severe 1-2 slip when cold, as well as erratic shifting. I think it's time people stop making excuses, and talking about "clearing adaptive tables". Lets face the facts here...The 10R80 transmission is a poorly engineered, poorly manufactured pile of garbage. It's not a good transmission, nor is it a reliable transmission. It's crap, plain and simple. The amount of issues with these things since their initial use has led to a class action lawsuit being filed against Ford Motor Company. A properly operating transmission shouldn't whine, slip, grind, jerk, or have any other abnormalities that Ford would consider "inherent qualities". Ford dropped the ball on this one, big time. It won't happen anytime soon, but they really need to start from the ground up and design a more reliable, properly functioning transmission to the replace the 10R80.
