I have had two other GT's in the past, I was always able to find the rattle and fix it. Many times it was the passenger seatbelt touching something or the glovebox was not closing tight enough. This might be a little late. But for the rear rattle, go to the trunk pull back the liner from the passenger side. You'll see a module sitting on a very thin sheet of metal. Take it off, put some sound deadening in the sheet metal/between the module and metal and put it back together. That should fix it. Of not check C-pillar airbags

  • @theodoreshasta7846
    @theodoreshasta7846 2 ปีที่แล้ว +21

    I own a 2017 GT350 and have a few observations. The software defaults to either ‘normal’ or ‘quiet’ exhaust mode upon cold start (perhaps even hot start) out of respect for those around you because the exhaust note is objectionable to most people during periods of fuel enrichment, i.e. cold start. Ford is wise to do this because otherwise people (your neighbors?) might complain and create a regulatory backlash. I believe the seat back of the driver’s seat is shaking because it is not ‘locked down’ in its normal position (at least it appears from your video that the seat back is in its forward position). For what it’s worth my GT350 has no rattles. Before you get carried away modifying this car perhaps you should look for a well maintained GT350, a better car which is likely to cost you less all in. No matter how much you spend you on aftermarket parts and software will not be able to replicate all the improvements Ford made to the GT350. The list includes a bespoke and wider front clip, Brembo calipers and SHW floating rotors, larger wheels and tires (I believe the wheels are forged), a Torsen differential with pump-driven oil cooler, revised suspension bits, a Tremec 3160 close ratio (except for sixth gear, which is an overdrive) gearbox, and, of course, the high-revving 5.2 liter V8.

      @@Karmakatt6 I am not qualified to speak as to the current prices of used GT350s and can offer no insight as to the future values. It’s a free and open market so the interplay of buyers and sellers sets prices. Perhaps the only valid observation I can share is that, for the most part, the values of modified cars do not reflect the expense of the modifications and often sell for less than a comparable unmodified car.

    I own a 2021 gt 500 and I will tell you that my 500 has the same rear driver's side rattle. I assume it's build quality, and I completely understand your frustration. It feels like it comes from the window area to me.

    • @theodoreshasta7846
      @theodoreshasta7846 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Eliminating the rattle may be easier than you might believe. It could be a loose fastener, a fastener that slipped out of a worker’s hand during finally assembly, or a wiring harness that is not properly secured. There are relatively few things going on in the rear quarter and relatively more things going on in the driver’s door. In either case you will have to remove some of the interior trim to perform an inspection. You can probably do this yourself, or you can have the dealer (probably covered under warranty) or a body shop take a look. I very much doubt you have a serious, structural issue such as missing welds. It’s annoying and it should not happen, but it should be fairly easy to correct.

    • @prasharanasinghe3344
      @prasharanasinghe3344 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@theodoreshasta7846 I don't doubt that at all! But paying a marked up cost for a car already puts me in salty waters. This addition does not help. That being said, there's a reason I bought it in the first place and still have it! I love the car.

    • @theodoreshasta7846
      @theodoreshasta7846 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@prasharanasinghe3344 I guess I should consider myself fortunate in that our local dealer (mid-size, family-owned) was allocated a single 2022 GT500 production slot which I have reserved and optioned out to my liking (the usual stuff, nothing fancy). The car will be sold at MSRP, which I consider to be more than fair. Many people assume I have ordered the GT500 because I am not entirely pleased with the GT350, and they are rather surprised when I tell them a) I have ordered the GT500 because I like the GT350 so much, and b) I intend to keep the GT350. While it is little more than a guess on my part I believe the next GT500 (or whatever Ford decides to call it) will either be a hybrid or all electric, meaning the 5.2 liter Predator engine will represent both the high water mark for internal combustion and the end of an era. Not sure what this will mean for the value of these cars, but I believe there will be at least some incremental value for being the last and the best. I say this fully aware that hybrid or all electric drive may well be more powerful and offer even better performance. At age 70 I have no interest in an even faster car. 760 hp is quite enough. Enjoy your GT500, and fix that rattle. 😉

      @@theodoreshasta7846 You couldn't have said it better! Finding one for MSRP is a good deal. Trust me when I say you'll love the car. The sense of speed is what appeals to me. I complain only with love, as I wouldn't trade the car for anything else right now. I can't wait for you to recieve yours! 760 horses is a different level entirely. I come from a new model 5.0. I got a 22 and it's crazy fast off the line. I live in a crowded area so I don't need to race around. Ford should have put wider tires on the car though. 235s are too narrow and kind of dangerous on this car. Also, the stock GT wheels are ugly as hell. Ford offers a supercharger for their mustangs still under the hellcat price with a warranty if installed by ford or ford certified mechanic.
      So for say a fully loaded mustang gt premium it’s around 50k + 10k for a supercharger installed so 60k total and 750 crank hp which is higher than a standard hellcat in that aspect plus it’s 1k lbs lighter. The hellcat charger wide body I had was 74k and it was all just basic.

    I wouldn't own one with a 10R80 My 21 GT PP has the MT-82 which is moderate for a car that I daily. It had the 3rd gear nibble when i drove it off the lot with 5 miles on it but it makes the driving experience much better than the 10 speed. Although if you get your car tuned the 10 speed will work really decent 'Alex @ Lund racing seems to know how to set them up where there really quick and smooth. if you're gonna toss a CAI on you might want to get with them to make that slushbox come to life.

    • @TheLoneWolf_andCoyote
      @TheLoneWolf_andCoyote 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@chrish9502 a aftermarket closed airbox with a larger maf housing will make more power over a stock air box that can be chassis dyno proven. long tube headers and off road pipes are also a huge rwhp gain on a tuned coyote. as far as remote tuning goes Lund and Palm beach are definitely the top sellers in the email tune market. Although if you want top results a chassis dyno session is the only way to go in real time while monitoring all engine data the chassis dyno tune is the only way to roll if you have access to one.
