Straight up if I go to a restaurant there's an English/Spanish language barrier, I already know I'm about to have the best food of my life.
My dad (a kiwi-there’s no Latino people in nz and the food suffers a bit for it) would always say “I don’t trust a fancy Italian restaurant unless there’s Mexican folks preparing the food”

I'm originally from Philly, and even though this is NYC and a chopped cheese, truer words have never been spoken.
Don't go to most tourist spots for the city famous dishes. Go to the hole in the wall corner stores or bodegas and find your favorite one. Those places are cooking them with love and knowledge of the dish you can't replicate from tourist attractions.

The only thing in it the sandwich that you could make an argument for is the white bread, and even then it's still not that bad, mainly extra dyes and some added starch.

Ridiculous are the ones with layer after layer and so tall that you can't take a bite without getting it all over your face. I make sure to do big skidmarks in their customer toilet if I get fed that unmanageable crap. I make sure to leave my gerkins stuck under their tables if I get any sauce on my face from a ridiculously tall burger. I protest against all selling of all tall burgers because tall burgers are messy burgers and messy burgers are dangerous burgers. Burger slop can be a slip hazard.
