My Grandmother used to make a chocolate fudge that is grainy. Not everyone in the family likes it, but I do! My oldest sister makes it every Christmas time. However, I have a recipe for peanut butter fudge I received from a former coworker who was the aunt of her nephew that she raised who became our diocese’s Bishop. It was his favorite!

My mom made delicious peanut butter fudge. She is in heaven now and mine never turns out like hers. I’m going to forgo the boo crew sew along because I’m doing summer camp and have other projects started, but I do hope FQS offers a spooky box this year. I have a thing for all things Halloween. Have a good day.

There’s a National fudge day!!?? Oh goody!! My fav fudge is just plain chocolate…no nuts…no peanut butter…nothin’ but chocolate!! My mom used to make fudge using the recipe on the Hershey’s cocoa tin and that’s what I’ve always done. It is the best! When my 4 kids were all at home that would be our Christmas candy treat!
We loved the cooking process and smelling that yummy chocolate as it bubbled away on the stove top!

What I saw when you showed the needle threader.... Put the thread half on each side of the threader so the loop will be in the middle. Don't pull either end of the thread through the eye of the needle. Instead pull the loop down to meet the ends of the thread so it's like four thread ends coming together. Knot them, and when you sew, each stitch will be like sewing with quadruple thread. You'll be able to fly through sewing on buttons! Twice as good as a double thread.

Since my mothers passing in 2005 I have followed in her footsteps and since then I am the only family member that can make “Moms” fudge. I’m sure the recipe was handed down from her grandmother but my mom would put a oversized tablespoon of peanut butter in hers which makes it still chocolate but with a hint of peanut butter which has people wondering why it is sooo good. It is what all of my family members and friends want from me for Christmas so I make at least 5-8 batches every Christmas.

I have peanut butter fudge down to a science as well. It's my whole families favorite. So many people beg me to make it Christmas. I made probably 10 or more recipes in order to find the recipe that we preferred. It's super easy and delicious. I also made a gazillion chocolate fudge recipes until we found the one of chocolate that we prefer. So just about every year I make peanut butter and chocolate fudge for my family and give some as gifts as well. Love your mauve block!!!! That backing is something else too. Fantastic.

      It's called Penuche Frosting
      1/2 butter
1 cup brown sugar, light or dark
      1/4 cup milk
Heat on stove until bubbly. Take off stove and then add:
      3 1/2 cups powdered sugar
Keep stirring until it gets dry looking. You might have to add some more powdered sugar. Either drop small amounts on waxed paper or spread into an 8X8 inch pan.

The red zinger does not use wide selvages (It could but the effect of the words and dots might not be as striking) Are you planning a second selvage quilt for pieces like that cat print that are cut very generously? Karen did say that you have plenty... I make string quilts and find them to be addictive to piece, so the possibility of a second selvage quilt is not just an academic question.
