Thank you, thank you! For me, the "Aha!" moment was the idea of wrapping my fabric around the ruler! I can see a Saturday with wine glass in hand, wrapping and wrapping. Will be a great space organizer.

Need fabric? Need doesn't have anything to do with it! Want, I want it, it brings me joy! If I never make anything with it, I go to the quilting room, rearrange, iron, fold, and fondle my fabric. And sigh with pleasure when I leave, satisfied and content!

What an awesome video. So helpful to anyone new, or veteran to quilting. I have totes for all my fabric, but can see now that I am doing it injustice because it’s hidden. RN 35 yrs, newly retired w new hip replacement, and can now spent time organizing my mess, and sewing endlessly, even in RV. Thank you so much for all you do, it is fresh, family first, inspiring, and so easy to listen, and learn, Thank you. Wendy S. Wenatchee

It was helpful to hear the amounts of yardage needed at the beginning. I like the way you fold large pieces. I may copy that. I don't save fabric bits either. I also cut left over fabric into 5", 10" and jelly strips and allow myself one tote of stashed scraps. Then I keep turning the irregular scraps into scrappy blocks until I have enough blocks for a quilt and I use the cuts for baby quilts for charity. Thank you for a well done, concise video of useful info.

Thank you for your video. I really liked your methodology for fabric purchasing and storage. I have 4 large bookcases in my sewing room stacked with fabric in no logical order. It is frustrating when I know I have a cut of fabric and cannot find it. Also I would love to reorganize the fabric so I can see and shop in my fabrics. I have a huge amount of fabrics and sometimes I cannot understand why I am not able to find what I need. This video has helped me to rethink how everything is organized and what needs to change.

In knitting we refer to the distraction as seeing a squirrel. How about setting a timer? Justgetitdone TH-cam channel suggests a setting a timer (15min 🤷‍♀️). You will get something organized. Plus, have a notebook handy for jotting down creative thoughts while organizing.

I recently got all my fabric out of tubs (well almost all) and out where I can actually see it. I fold my yardage around my ruler like you do and then store it in 1 yd - 2 yd - 3 yd or more shelves. I have bins for my leftovers cut into 2-1/2 strips sorted by color. We currently have a basket of 2-1/2 squares also but that's because my great grandsons are working on Minecraft projects with me. Your stash is beautiful and I don't have any where near what you have. Slowly working my way through it all so my granddaughter (who unfortunately does not quilt) won't have to deal with it. But I keep buying more for some reason. Those Friday unboxings are killing me. Thank you for sharing
