Got my 1982 toyota hi ace in South Africa. Very difficult to get the parts, but Im also spending some love and tender care on the van. Its a pleasure driving around town and seeing all the appreciation for the van when passing people .

Sweet looking Toyota Van. I've heard of the Toyota HiAce. For some reason, it was never offered here in the USA. I think it was the smaller TownAce that was sold in the USA, possibly Canada. I'd buy it myself if it were sold in Tacoma, Washington.

Does anyone know how loud a 2nd gen HiAce diesel is driving on the highway? I am considering one, but I have a 1st gen LT with a 6-cyl diesel engine in the same location and I almost need ear protection driving that over 60 miles per hour.
