I often wonder if NMN has had a similar effect on my skin. It's a difficult one to judge as, in my case, there could be other factors at play. Great to hear you've both had such a good experience though.

I'm an 82 year old and have been taking 300 mg of NMN for the past 30 days. I am having less trouble keeping my weight at 110-115 .and have a good energy level . My exercise routine at the gym is 2 days of hour long resistance training and 2 days of 1 hour stretching exercises. I also take Spermadine 20mg daily in wheat germ plus 1000mg of liquid B12 daily. I feel well and energetic plus I sleep 7-8 hours every night. I'm planning on continuing my whole plant based diet as it seems to be working for me. Thank you for your video and I will stay in touch. I was being assessed for ALS MND Motor Neuron Disease, I used mega dosing of B3 Niacin and B3 Nicotinamide to deal with my depression, my fatigue was off the charts with muscle wasting.. My depression was under control but at the same time I started taking ASEA Redox Signalling Molecules and after 2 weeks I stopped the mega dosing as my depression was lifted, my energy increased, running and power walking and am now working 6 days a fortnight, seeing muscle tone increased, my left hand still has spasticity but is increasing in strength and my right arm is improving also..

Stansfield is a junior doctor who confuses clinical studies with personal effects and apparent personal animosity to Dr. Sinclair. I am 80 and have been taking NMN (~1gm) with TMG (2 gm) for 6 years. I walk 3-10 miles a day, and do some weight baring exercises. I have reduced carbohydrates and increased protein. I am convinced the NMN has been effective in supporting my activity. I still do very complex consulting in data analysis. I've been taking NMN for 6 months, starting at 250 gms then 500 gms. Added TMG about 2 months ago. I'm 70, still working 7 days a week, and still remember the early days of NMN where I'd have periods of buzzing round my shop feeling like I was in my 30s, though not with the same stamina. Now that's the new normal. When I took NMN at night I had a truly awful week of sleep because my brain just wouldn't switch off, so that was a negative proof if you like. Thanks for this honest review ~ I'll make my own experiment by splitting my dose into morning and afternoon - now I think about it, that seems an obvious thing to do ! I also eat in a 6 to 8 hour window each day, and started a carnivore diet more recently to fix some gut issues so it's hard now to isolate the benefits, but I do feel NMN has been a very positive influence.

Thanks for the personal trial with MNM! For NAD boosting, I've been taking liposomal NMN at 500mg/day along with 50mg niacinamide with 500 mg DMG for over a year. I also lift weights 4 times a week and do treadmill HiIt twice a week. I've always exercised, so I know it produces many benefits including NAD. But now, I weight train at the end of my fasting window in a fasted state... which is hard but makes me feel AMAZING! I also do intermittent fasting (17/7) and do 48 hour fasts every 10 weeks. So what does all this mean? Well at 67, I am still squatting 450 lbs and plan to set a world record by age 70 as the record is only 365lbs for this age and my 198 weight range. My theory is simple. Keep the body at a state that still is in the "REPRODUCTION CAPABLE" state. This extends quality of life. "DON'T LET THE OLD MAN IN!"😊

    Hey Clare, another great video.
I totally agree with the need for more informative investigations into the use and beneficial claims made about MNM , NR and other precursor only supplements.
The discrepancies in your NAD+ blood test levels is no surprise.
Accurate and reliable at home consumer NAD testing is still a long way off. The reason being - the NAD coenzyme is extremely unstable and it degrades really quickly. The only way you can accurately measure NAD is through a process call mass-spectrometry and is used after any samples of blood are immediately placed on ice to prevent degradation.
I do agree precursor-only NAD boosters (like NMN and NR) do increase a person’s NAD levels but “lack of available precursor material” is not the reason for our declining levels of NAD
These pre-cursor only NAD boosters do not address the root cause of NAD decline as we get older.
There is also growing and concerning evidence over the use of NMN in isolation and the resulting short and long term impact of methyl donor depletion hence why one of the products you and your dad were using also needed TMG.
An effective and efficient NAD supplement needs to have a whole-systems approach that is backed by real clinical evidence in the form of human trials and addresses the root cause of NAD decline. These products do exist.
    Keep up the awesome content.

I'm 66 and have been taking NMN for about 16 months now. I immediately felt results on day one. My energy levels increased, I no longer felt drowsy in the afternoon after lunch and I just felt better overall. I also lost 40 pounds over a five month period but I'm not sure how much of a role NMN played as I changed my diet as well. Before starting NMN I had decided to get in better shape also and started doing one thing I really love, day hikes. I live at 7000 feet in the Rocky Mountains and the hikes ranged from that altitude up to over 11,000 feet. At first I could only walk about three miles without feeling exhausted with minimal improvement until I started taking NMN. Almost immediately, my range improved to over four miles with another leap to over six without feeling beat. Now, I can do over twelve miles while reaching the high altitudes I mentioned earlier and, while tired, I'm not just totally worked. I also believe my pace is on par with what I could do in my thirties. NMN has had a significant effect on my life despite what Brad Stanfield says. I've come to the conclusion that he will take the opposite stance on just about anything that Dr. Sinclair and others do just to feed his own ego. I stopped following his TH-cam channel months ago.

NMN and Homocysteine: NMN may theoretically increase homocysteine levels because it increases the consumption of S-Adenosylmethionine (SAMe), which is needed for homocysteine methylation. This could raise the risk of cardiovascular diseases. To counteract this, the intake of TMG (Trimethylglycine) is often recommended to balance homocysteine levels.
TMG and TMAO: However, TMG intake can increase the production of Trimethylamine-N-oxide (TMAO) in some individuals, which is also linked to an increased risk of cardiovascular diseases. These interactions between NMN, TMG, and TMAO are complex and require further research.
It's important to use supplements like NMN and TMG under expert supervision and after careful consideration of potential risks. Regular blood tests can help monitor for any adverse effects.

Thank you. This is the first video of yours I have watched and found it informative.
I do dowsing and muscle testing. The first few min of the video I was questioning the use of NMN for myself and others and kept getting a No. I thought that was odd. Then after you mentioned it was suggested to take NMN with TMG, I questioned again about taking NMN but with TMG for myself and others and then got a Yes. So I found that interesting.
I am taking many supplements and superfoods now however I will want to save this video and begin an NMN + TMG and possibly Berberine at some point when the budget allows.

What I did find was that pains in my feet, particularly big toes, that had been there nearly 10 years and were affecting my ability to walk with no medical explantion, had dissapeared and after a month that the 'liver spots' on my hands were fading. Now though I do feel better, I stand more upright and I do not fall asleep all the time. I also take resveratrol and keep up my input of flavinoids though red/dark fruit and veg.

A few months ago, I start taking GlyNAC, NMN, and TMG. I only did NMN for a couple months and then swapped it out for Niacin because NMN was too expensive. I've been feeling the best I've felt in a while, and quickly somehow lost 15 pounds barely trying. I don't get tired half as easy when doing any kind of exercise anymore.
Just a word of warning to others, if you decide to use Niacin: in the large doses you need to take to affect NAD levels, it causes an intense flushing effect on your skin. It's really itchy, and your skin can feel really hot. It lasts 10-15 minutes, and it's not in any way dangerous, but the first time it can be a little scary if you're not expecting it. Some say that flushing effect also has a benefit to our skin by circulating blood through it.

Very interesting video, thanks for bringing us your results. Being a bit of a geek, I did a very deep dive into NMN myself and this lead me to Dr Nicola Conlon's research on NMN and her company Nuchido. She's a British scientist who has created a next generation NMN supplement which is I believe one of the very few supplements to have undergone a rigorous double blind placebo clinical trial with published results. Her product aims to address the root causes of why our NAD levels decrease with age and I learnt a lot more about NAD from watching some of her presentations. I've been taking her companies supplement myself for 3 months now with very positive results so far, and in order to verify my subjective observations, I've also done a glycan age test prior to starting the supplement and will follow up with a repeat test in 6 months to see whether it has indeed lowered my biological age in any meaningful way. Anyway, I just wanted to bring this to your attention as I really think this will add a lot of clarity to the whole NMN debate.

Definitely worth watching some of her presentations on NAD cellular biology on TH-cam. Also, in my research I found that researchers don't put much stock in the postal NAD blood testing kits as the active NAD degrades so quickly outside the body. That's why it's better to do a test like the Glycan age test and use this as a proxy rather than testing for NAD itself as this needs to be done in a laboratory. Although I stand to be corrected if I'm wrong as I'm not a scientist, just a guy doing some research online!

I'm approaching 40 yrs in a couple months and I have been combating RRMS for almost 13 years. And well it's never too early to give the body what it has very likely been missing for... most of its time on earth. I hope that I didn't do a bad thing by not first consulting my neurologist. In my defense tho the guy, without even stopping to consider, advised me to take the recent vakscene debacle.rotflmao. I’ve been taking NMN for six months, though it was hard to find and I had to have it shipped in from Canada. I started taking GlyNAC about four months ago, but it started causing diarrhea after about a month, so I have had to cut the dose in half, then half again! I started taking TMG two months ago, along with Creatine. So far the only positive effect has been that I have stopped losing muscle strength, and have been able to increase my weight workouts back up to five days per week (I had dropped down to three workouts per week, on my doctor’s advice). Other than that, I haven’t noticed any improvements in my appearance or health. I did start suffering from cold sweats at night beginning about one month into taking NMN. The only thing that has help my arthritis (both osteoarthritis and ankylosing spondylitis, which is in the rheumatoid spectrum) has been a large dose of MSM twice a day. I am no longer able to take the biologic drugs that had previously worked so well, due to the detrimental effects on my immune system.

I have tried NMN and NR, I gave up both for just plain Nicotinamide. I take the plain Nicotinamide because the others are costly supplements which get broken down to plain Nicotinamide because of digestion. The digestion process breaks down the NMN and NR but this does not reduce their effectiveness as obviously they still do have an effect after your body reassembles them. The basis of my theory comes from research on skin cancer here in NSW Australia. .Oral Nicotinamide Prevents Common Skin Cancers so to me that means that the same mechanism that is aiding old people in maintaining higher NAD levels is the same whether you are taking plain Nicotinamide or NMN / NR. David Sinclair has admitted that plain nicotinamide is effective in raising NAD levels. I also eat a Vegan diet which has remarkably good effects on my health as well and David Sinclair has admitted he does too.

I think you said you were also taking Berberine - surely this is more likely to be why you have lost weight as it works like metformin and helps with metabolism and insulin resistance. ??! Many people who take berberine lose some weight as it's a bit of an appetite suppressant ??!

I am 70 and have been taking 2 to 3 grams of NMN a day from DoNotAge for the past six months. My waist hasn't been so thin in nearly half a century. Am working out at the gym and stronger than ever before, jogging and milking cows on a kibbutz, very difficult work. My medical issues have nearly all disappeared. Through trial and error over decades I can definitely say that most of my results can be linked to NMN. Why don't they give at least a gram in human trials?

I open with the fact that I’m a sucker for gimmicks, I wanted to say thank you for the video, your delivery feels far more balanced than some other channels. I’m 57 and physically train everyday, I wanted to boost energy so I watched Brad regards Taurine and took 900grammes of the bat (I know, I am an idiot) this had a adverse effect and caused an allergic reaction which resulted in breathing issues. It turns out that Taurine will affect allergic asthmatics, if you do a piece on Taurine would you stick a note into warn people of the potential dangers. I will research the NMN and test the theory. Really great delivery, Many Thanks, J

I have to agree my own experience with NMN at age 66 is quite good. I have always been athletic cycling 8000 miles a year with 500,000' climbing but I was feeling more & more my age the last 3 years. Since taking NMN a gram a day for three months I am really happy with it & the results. As an aside I would like to say you yourself look very much better than your earlier video...Not that there was anything wrong with those videos which you showed clips of in this video but now in this video you clearly look healthier/younger more vibrant...It Shows! FYI there's a huge quality difference in brand and manufacturer. Tony Robbins talked about it; they bought several off the shelf and tested them. Some contained no active ingredient whatsoever! Assuming not every company was trying to scam, NMN degrades quite fast. It's not super shelf-stable (not sure about NR). But that could be what happened with the stuff you bought.

I have recently started with intermittent fasting. I'm mostly following Mindy Pelz' IF advice. Still early stages with that so not much to report yet. (If IF gives you headaches then take a little salt with the water, is all I have so far). In general I think it's way too late to try and affect my life span. (I'm not sure I would want to anyway since I have very poor quality of life). But I take mineral and vitamin supplements, no tobacco/nicotine (ever) and very little alcohol, and I try to eat more veggies and fruit. I'm not particularly strict with my diet though, I eat sugar and less healthy foods sometimes.

I Just read your comment, it's sad you feel you don't have a great quality of life...
I think the best we can do for ourselves is try to live a better life rather than a longer life, as a result we may get a few extra years...
The reason I replies to your comment was to ask you if you heard of Red Light Therapy, if you're watching this kind of content on TH-cam then, i'm sure you have...
Personally I believe that along with a sensible and healthy lifestyle it's probable one of the best things you can do for your body along with practising yoga and everything else in moderacion...
It's very easy to get caught in the mindfield of suplements and
the trouble is, a lot of them do absolutely nothing other than make those manufacturers and suppliers rich... and in most cases you need to be taking something else to make something else work...
We are what we are, some people eat shite all their life, smoke a packets a Day and out live someone who had a healthier lifestyle, it is what it is...
If you haven't already then get yourself a Red light device, I believe it's a game changer...
If you need any help with that then let me know
      Regards
Oh and IF, another game changer, definitely believe in the benefits of that...

Yes, a lot of it is a płacibo effect but it does actually raise levels. It's not always a good thing. People abuse NMN and other NAD+ supplements because these companies sell it well. I've read so much research on NAD+ and although, it did have successful mice experiments, humans are not mice, but they also don't ever do their own research.

Interesting experience. Thanks for sharing. I've heard there are studies suggesting TMG potentially helps reduce white fat, increase brown fat, and may even maintain muscle mass while losing weight. Since you took both NMN and TMG together, I wonder if the TMG was more responsible for your body composition changes than the NMN. I'd be curious to see someone just try TMG and see what happens. There's a logical reason to take both together, but I wonder if it's obscuring which one is actually doing certain things.

Thank you for a truly balanced video and your honest personal experience. I was going to work my way up to 1.5 g of NMN but I find my own sweet spot is 750 mg with the same amount of TMG, split over two or three daily sublingual doses. In my 50s. Energy levels are up. I feel less creaky. And my greys are going away. I use Renue by Science. I plan to increase thedose in my 60s or 70s or when my body hints at it. On the other hand, I may taper down in the future if I exercise more.

Additionally, the researchers found that in mice, 4PY triggered inflammation in the blood vessels. This inflammation can lead to damage, including atherosclerosis, or the buildup of plaque in the artery walls. The study was published Feb. 19 in the journal Nature Medicine.
Lead researcher Stanley Hazen, M.D., says together the findings suggest that excess niacin is not just associated with an increased risk for heart disease but may also contribute to its development. The results could pave the way for treatments to reduce or prevent blood vessel inflammation, as well as diagnostic tools to help identify people who are getting too much niacin and may be at higher risk for a heart event, Hazen says

    • @bojax3434
      @bojax3434 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

This is complete BS. Get prescribed Niacin FOR heart issues up until about 30ish years ago. Any “issue” with niacin is taking the niacin for present in NMN…which is the flush free version. The flush version is processed immediately. It is called nicotinic acid. The NMN niacin is Niacinamide or nicotinomide…these are NOT processed right away and get stored in the liver and can bullies up to toxic levels. Big pharma is engaged in a Full court press to discredit traditional niacin. If they wanted to prove it was not beneficial, they would run it 1:1 with statins and compare results. They have never done that, only paired with a statin versus just a statin. They concluded no benefit. Yet here we are, with heart disease as the number one killer in the US, even though we have these wonderful statins!
