Despite a lot of questionable dialogue and artistic interpretation of the Locust, RAAM, and many Locust characters, it's a faithful apocrypha that stands well on its own. And worth adding to your Gears of War collection as well.
We need a gears game that lets us play as the locust fighting the lambent many may hate it but it still would be interesting. Anyone who requires a hammer of dawn orbital weapon to be killed is an overpowered boss. Plus he commands the krill swarms (basically man eating bats) and with his genetic modifications he could take on even the toughest of creatures in the hollows.
Honestly It’d be pretty awesome to me if we were play DLC content featuring Locust POV against the Lambent, in the hollows. It’s just so potentially interesting. Honestly I always viewed the Locust as a VERY underrated species that I wished we have more perspective about them, about as much as the Covenant from Halo.
Honestly, Delta Squad managing to take down Raam shows just how strong Marcus and his squad were as a team. Raam took down entire units on his own, but when Delta Squad came together against him, they were finally able to put him down

The Great and Glorious General RAAM. General RAAM did scared me when I first played gears of war especially with the Kryll that block the shots. After a while I grown fond of general RAAM and I looked up to him especially his deep and raspy voice. "Serve the Queen" That what made me like and love general RAAM, there are times I say General Lord RAAM. I see RAAM as a general and as the Lord of the army's of Locust, the Queen's enforcer, General Lord RAAM. I even kneel before him even though it's just a screen 😅😅😅😅
I wish we would get an RTS game for GoW in the style of Halo Wars, not only would it give ample opportunity to expand on the Locust Horde and COG, but being able to watch things like E-Day from an overhead view would be spectacular! The first time I beat gears1 on the hardest difficulty RAAM made me so mad killing me over and over till I finally got lucky and took him down. The feeling of accomplishment I got from beating him was probly more satisfying then it should b for a game when no one else will care at all. 😆

There's alot more stories they can tell with general RAAM because let's not forget the fact that this took place a few years before the locust human war began and RAAM died 10 years into the locust human war so there could be dozens of more stories they can fit in in between those events. I don't just wanna see raams rise and death because I already know that I wanna see the atrocities he inflicted on humanity during the war. we only know 2 people that have been killed by RAAM, Alecia Valera and Minh young Kim.
I don't know why exactly, but I still prefering Raam over Skorge. Despite that Raam is more slow, while Skorge is more agile, acrobatic and scary, Raam somehow feels more as a better strategic leader for the Locust horde than Skorge.
3:40 The fact that Raam never killed brutally Skorge for saying that he will die in some point and instead offering his position as the leader when it happens, shows how much Raam trusted Skorge as his war partner and friend. It's a big shame that Epic Games instead of adapting the comics of Gears of War as prequels and spin-offs like the Raam's shadow DLC, they still making unnecessary sequels and continuarions after the perfect ending of Gears of War 3, ruining more and more the lore of the game.
Can someone explain why the locust didn't work with the cog to quell the lambent? I know the queen had some serious beef but to me it'd make more sense to work together then take out humanity. Mostly asking cause I don't 100% know the reasoning behind it.
Queen Myrrah did enlist in Adam Fenix's help to produce a weapon capable of wiping out all Lambent on Sera. However, when his results kept producing the possibility of the Locust going extinct as well due to their origins, coupled with both Queen Myrrah's patience, and the Locust slowly losing ground over time, Queen Myrrah's hands were forced and she believed exterminating humanity was the only justifiable solution to survive the Lambent invasion. Little did they know that they would've survived regardless as Niles Sampson surprisingly had a failsafe plan built into the Locust genetics. Nevertheless, Myrrah's compounding and wading patience, her hatred of humanity or in particular, Niles Sampson, and her need and longing to protect her people from certain extinction had all passed on psychomagnetically passed on to her subjects so they all would've shared her sentiment and hatred regardless, no matter how much you try to spin the idea, the Locusts were bad guys.
General Raam was not so tough when he got smacked around by Uzil Sraak. He was also not impressive when he was killed by Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago during the Lightmass Offensive.
Despite both medias had them speak english, is it weird that the locust in the comics speak full coherent sentences while they speak like cave men in the games?
So RAAM can man handle a lambent horde with his trust blade, but can’t beat two gears (Marcus and dom) with kryll on his side 🤦🏻♂️ I LOVE gears, too. No disrespect, but man they gotta stay true to their lore. If you’re gonna make him OP, he should be just that. Reminds of what happened with General Grievous. He was a monstrosity in the shows and comics, but completely backwards in the movies
You gotta remember what happened at the end of Gears 1, Cole was using the king Raven spotlight to destroy the kryll. RAAM couldn’t use the kryll in that fight so he was nerfed
