Actually, South Korean 'GTX' is already open (partially) and it reaches the high speed of 180km/h. So technically, this is not the fastest subway train even now.

Speeding up the TML would speed up the journey time by about 5 minutes for the whole journey, and if TML train frequency is blocked by not enough trains, at least run the trains faster so you can squeeze the extra one train an hour.
This is should be the more suitable replacement (as bad as having a Chinese train replacing anymore non Chinese train in MTR) for CAF-Trains that MTR is trying to get rid of. Not stupid modified Q-Train.

2021年国庆特别从珠海去广州拍18号线,那时候快车是从冼村一站直达番禺广场,只需要15分钟左右。那时候好多市民都专门来体验,连南沙区的终点站万顷沙都全是人。上车后每个乘客都在拍速度表到160km/h的时刻,速度真的到了之后大家纷纷赞叹“真系咁快!”。我到番禺广场站站厅的第一眼就被震撼,即使后面去看深圳地铁的岗厦北站也没有再体会到那种“仿佛置身未来”的震撼。想来竟然已经是3年前的事情了……

因为以后延申北要到花都,南要到中山,它本身就是城际+部分广州市区地铁的功能设计

廣州市很大,因此18號線從東邊開到西邊全場將近60公里,比機捷還長,全程只有8座車站,最長的站距甚至逼近單一條淡水線,作為大城市快速通勤的手段很合理,但你要是真在台灣開這麼一條線那麼豈不是城際列車了。這種地鐵必然都是途經重要地帶,然而在台灣就是妥妥的全部擠在台北裡,你在市內最多設個3站而已。
何況這種地鐵的維護成本巨大,票價必然增加,然而你放在台灣又有多少人需要此等需求,需要多花錢換取時間?(即使票價更貴,廣州人可以透過這條線於城市裡快速移動並轉乘,因此花費這些價錢是值得的,然而市內交通對台灣來說無非就是捷運坐個幾站的事,這樣一來高速地鐵的使用者僅剩跨縣市使用者,最終會不敷成本)
而且,你認為機捷開直達車是幹嘛用的?

香港機鐵再提速嘅話冇咩效益,同埋多彎位,25分鐘由中環直入機場櫃枱已經足夠
@@SFsRailDepot冇人地咁快,每公里價係大興機場綫幾倍,甚至高過高鐵香港段,凳硬車老,氣密差,唔係垃圾係咩(宜家有啲城市普通地鐵就有充電位,例如蘇州,所以充電不應當作招徠,btw柯士甸去羅湖落馬洲嘅頭等亦已高於高鐵)
