Shenzhen Metro will open Line 3's phase 4 extension at the end of 2024/12. Line 3 will be extended from Shuanglong to Pingdi Liulian. The extension also includes the last non-underground station built for Shenzhen in the foreseeable future, as all future lines and extensions will be fully underground. Before the extension opened, there were already upgrades to Line 3, namely the new platforms at Universiade, new trains for the extension and a new signalling system.
深圳地鐵3號線將於2024年12月末開通四期路段，從雙龍站延伸至坪地六聯站，當中包括深圳最後一個建設的非地底車站，因為未來所有深圳地鐵路線都是地底建造的。較早前3號線已經為延伸進行升級，包括大運站的新月台，四期延伸段的新車，以及全線信號系統升級。
