It's so dark because Spain is on the same line of longitude as the UK, or even slightly further West, and should therefore be on the same time as the UK. To fit in with European time it was decided long ago that they should be on CET to make international trade easier. I was toying with buying an Orbea for my last bike, if I'd known they were a workers' cooperative I'd have bought it. Absolutely sick bikes.
I bought a used Orbea Lobular team Euskaltel frame and built it up with Dura Ace 7800. It is the definition of "bike porn". I always wanted a bike that was just like the ones ridden in the Tour de France. This is very cool. I'm very glad that Orbea is a Co-Op and that the workers have a stake in the business. Thank you.
I’m currently looking at a new bike and I had seen a post on LinkedIn about Orbea been a Co-Op so that’s what I’m going to buy. It was great to see this video. Thank you.
Just bought an Orbea Rise Hydro. Never new anything about Orbea and always thought the best frames came from Taiwan. Wow the quality of my Rise is incredible. How they smooth out the weld spots is awesome!
Just ordered my first Orbea...an Orca OMX with custom MyO paint...not cheap (tho' depends what you're comparing it to) and I was a bit nervous....watching this has made me much more confident about my choice! Looks like a great company with a great spirit and quality processes. Nice vid, thanks!
Yeah, great video. My mate bought an off-road electric bike from Orbea. Had it for a year, it's been off the road and in the workshop for the last nine months with a battery problem.
Bought an Orbea Vector 30 hybryd in night black over the weekend , the worse paint job ive ever seen on a bike. Already got chips on the paintwork and only went on paths ! Diabolical
Wonder if any manufacturers make their bikes in Europe, I think you can get a custom carbon frame from Cipollini on their website ? like you can a steel frame from a traditional frame builder.
@@plantfuelled8912 the materials for a frameset (carbon + "glue") cost around 70 euros per set. it's only made in asia, because people are paid almost close to nothing
Kind of feel bad for Tim. He travels all the way down to Spain from cold, dark and rainy England only to be met with the exact same weather. Feelsbadman
I realise that the factory tour is a bit of a cliche, but that one was well done...and I think Orbea would be happy. FWIW the Basque's have a long history of using a co-operative business model, and a pom, Robert Owen, is regarded as the originator of the concept.
The red and black bike is mine 😃😃😃, I can’t believe I’ve seen it before unboxing it.....lol just kidding. Awesome video, very insightful. I’m impressed with orbea
I Was, but don't in Love with Orbea anymore, the steerer tube on my Orbea Ordu gets broken spontaneously, after appr. 9.000 km, inbetween traffic, lot of luck saves me. OK, the bike was several years old, but in a very best shape - well maintained, but all parts original, tires, chain, brakepads. I'd rode the Bike only on sunny sundays, only steets, quick up to 60 kmh on flat streets, even faster on roads downwards here in the Taunus-Hills. I'm happy beeing still alive, not injured, but steerer tube braking without any kind of crash or impact should never should happen. The Bike was original from the dealer. Now they told me I should have mounted the Fork wrong. Now I'm not amused, the bike is dead. Just hazardous waste. Unfortunately. Check out all carbon parts every 500 Km for smallest scratches or fissures ! Br Peter
Wow really impressed by Orbea, I didn't know anything about this customisation which is very cool indeed and I will defo look at these babies when I replace mine later in the year, but Tim... really did you have to use your phone when this guy was talking to you, it's very rude.
Very courteous of Orbea to grant you their time for such a personal tour of their factory..... pity you didn’t extend the same courtesy to your tour guide while he was answering your questions .... instead of arsing around on your phone at 08:30 .... 👎🏻
Orbea Frames are made in Asia, therefore it is Made in Asia, yet they put a ‘Made in Spain’ sticker on the down tube. Lol. Santa Cruz does not put made in USA even though it’s assembled in California...They rightfully say Made in China for the Carbon Bikes, same with Ibis.
I bought an orbea rise 3 months ago, 1 month ago the seat stay snapped whilst on a footpath. Orbea aren’t honouring their lifetime warranty, and it appears I have no options. They should stick to guns, set of crooks
Worst filming ever, instead of fixating the camera on the dude who talking and pointing at things try panning and focusing on what he’s talking about instead of fixating on the talker! Made me feel uncomfortable lol
Absolute rubbish! Well presented here but in reality! My MYO wild fs came out horrible! They omitted components I’ve ordered and paint was like something a child would spray with a tin can! Really, really poor show from Orbea. I will publish a vide about this poor standard!!

Cam, that was amazing to see inside and behind the scenes of Orbea Bicycles. Thx for bringing us along for the Journey.
thanks mate
Nice to see inside the factory, bought an Orbea Mountain Bike this week, looking forward to getting delivery!
A cooperative would be such a great model for a bike company. with every employer actually caring about the end product!
Exactly. Every employee we saw working looked genuinely happy. Looks like a great business model
I just received my 2021 Orca Omx and absolutely love it! The quality is just off the charts. Great company! Thanks for the tour
Wow! That was such a great insight into the massive human involvement into making & personalising the Orbea bikes. Thanks.
Thanks Derek

Any idea how big those shipping boxes are? Need a reference for shipping to asia

Nice, video ! So, Is it true that Orbea's frames come from Asia?
nice work great edit cool tour. Thx

Wonder if any manufacturers make their bikes in Europe, I think you can get a custom carbon frame from Cipollini on their website ? like you can a steel frame from a traditional frame builder.
If the frames weren't made in Asia they wouldn't be affordable.
Orbea claimed that the frameset is weaved and made in Taiwan (possibly from Giant’s factory) can any Orbea bike owner confirm this?

grandiose cette usine ? dommage je n ai pas trouvé la traduction en français j on suit quand même la visite merci
It was a nice factory
These guys are wetter than the weather.
They didn't show the warranty department!
Are the frames made in Taiwan? That would be good. Or are they from China?
If I was in the market for a new bike, Orbea would have moved right up that list.
The guys from Orbea were super friendly too
Cam, please bring back the other song at the end of the vlogs, otherwise keep up the great work!
