    You are absolutely right! I did my research for 3 weeks, cleaned out my pantry and stocked up on ketofriendly food. I started on July 15th and lost 59 lbs so far. Keto and IF combined. I'm really strict with my macros, kept it very simple the first 2 month and started experimenting recipes after. I'm still over 200 lbs and have a long way to go, but I feel so much better already, less pain, less medication for my high bloodpressure, more energy. I feel like I can do it and I'm over 50. You can change your live, no matter at what point in your live you are. Thank you for sharing your journey with us!

      I just turned 50...and am not losing much on keto...have been blaming it on my age and slowed metabolism and damn menopause...I still crave sugar...I am not sure how to get over this damn addiction.. but thank you for sharing...gives me hope.

    The keto police are always out in full force. I know lazy/dirty keto works for us! There are countless ways to do keto. Do what works for you and try to stay true to your journey!

    1. Research and plan what to do.
    2. TRACK YOUR MACROS! Learn the skill....own it.
    3. Limit sweeteners and dairy, initially.
    4. Tune out the noise (“opinionaters”).
    5. Invest in your thoughts (be kind; pay attention to the non-scale victories).
    6. Move your body (do something, activity you enjoy).
    7. “Stay in your own lane” (don’t be other’s focused)!
    8. Trust the process (a slow loser is not a bad thing, get back up, it’s a journey).
    9. Be prepared for the fight of your life (the overweight body didn’t happen overnight).

    I was strong up until the couple of things you’ve said- i am listening to you and crying because of what I needed to hear!! It has taken me 13 years to gain about 80 lbs and I’ve been yo-yoing for the 8 years leaving me giving up on myself and you just always have the most positive things to say when I’m on the verge of just giving up.. thank you from the bottom of my heart for making this video.. on your phone because I know I’m not the only one who needed this❤️ you’re just awesome!!

    Thank you so much for this video! In 3 days I will be starting week 4 on keto. I have been doing EVERYTHING right and I have only lost 7lbs. I told my husband I was going to give up because everything comes so hard for me (a real pity party). And then I watched and really LISTENED to this video and it gave me a different perspective.     I love your videos, they are just down to earth and you speak the truth! I would love for you to do a video detailing intermittent fasting. Like do you eat all your macros (or close to it) in the one meal when you break your fast? When you are IF, are you doing OMAD? When you workout, do you subtract that info (calories burned, etc...) from your daily macros?

    I needed this so much today. Thank you, thank you. I had done so well on keto, lost over 70 lbs but fell off the wagon due to personal circumstances that were overwhelming.     Jess thank you for your tips, you answered most of my concerns...I am a slow loser and I get discouraged sometimes. But I don't want to quit, this journey is mine and will do anything to conquer my goal. I'm stopping Keto today for vacations but will go back starting January.

    I feel lucky that after 8 months of not eating processed sugar, I can now eat foods with “keto friendly” sweeteners and it does not appear to affect my progress or cause me to crave sugary snacks. The only non-keto food I do indulge in a few times a month is popcorn! But I don’t do any popcorn with sugary coating- just butter/salt

    Wow! I just recently found you. When a friend of mine started Keto I asked him questions and he was super helpful so I researched, researched, researched! I think I have spent hours upon hours of watching videos on here. So much that I have rewatched videos not realizing until they started up and I was like oh wait seen this one. That being said, this is a top one for me! I saved this and am rewatching it to help me on my journey. I started on June 17th and am down 20 lbs.     OMG! I needed to hear this video right now! This video gave me the slap in the face I needed to get me started again. Everything you said was so real to me right now. I've been doing so good the last 6 weeks and all of a sudden I hit a wall. It started with food commercials, I felt myself slipping, wanting, craving. Then I hit a stall then i starting eating just a little of things I shouldn't have then the I gained 3lbs which isn't a lot but I can feel myself slipping, thinking of food excuses like I'm just gonna eat this it shouldn't matter etc...but it does matter! So thankful to you and you're honest videos. Thanks for putting me back on track. Back to the keto basics! 😊

    Wow...I am not a person that likes to comment on social media topics...but I just would like to say as my spirit leads. Im on the keto plan since August 2021 it is October 26,2021 47lbs. down from a morbid obese diabetic body trying to prepare for double knee surgery!! I have moved my A1c from 9.97 to 8.1% in this amount of time at which I must be at a 7% or lower in order to be ready for surgery. So as I listen to your talk I thank you for the "SHARE TO CARE" ....thank you for the blessing. Please keep up what you do it is helping little old me as our paths cross.

    This week l lost 5.8#. That was due to 3-40 hour fasts. It was easier than l thought it would be. I had surgery today, socan' t fast for a while, but l'll get back to it when l can. You've helped me realise l can do this. Thank you.

    I have never done macros. I lost over 35 pounds this year actually since March 2018. Went from 18 to a 12 and I continue the keto diet. I don’t track anything I just stay away from all of the foods that are high in sugar including root vegetables. For someone new yeah if they want to take the time and do that that’s great. But I did it without doing that you can lose weight by not tracking macros

      Rola Eadeh I’m going to do the same thing. I have 20 pounds to lose by summer as well. I am really going to take some things out of my diet that I’m careless with. Catchup is one of them. I have been eating some baked goods with almond flour and artificial sweetener which you can get careless with. There are still grams of carbs in almond flour so I’m gonna cut back on that. As it is winter it’s harder to walk but as soon as it starts getting nice I’m going to walk. I also binge on TH-cam. I love listening to Jess and how wonderfully she’s done. I cannot even imagine having to lose that much weight. 50 pounds sounded a lot to me. I will continue to watch her videos. She is very helpful uplifting and has some great recipes and wonderful ideas

      Rola Eadeh Also I did it by cutting out all flour and all sugar all grains. No rice no potatoes no noodles basically meats and vegetables. I did have some fruits.       As much as it goes against my nature to track macros, I painstakingly did it for many weeks. Then I saw Jess's video on Carb Manager and opened a free account. It's super simple. I'm still learning all the tips.
      I, too, noticed if I have baked goods or too much cheese, I feel sluggish. I then will skip a meal to have OMAD or maybe even an extended fast. As Jess says, keep your body guessing.
      As for walking during the winter, my 88 year old aunt walks several laps at the big grocery store near her and then grabs a cart to do her shopping.

    I really love your energy and your attitude! I started keto (but only with paleo food) last tuesday and in 4 days I broke my 2 month plateau and lost 3 pounds! I started the paleo diet the 1st August 2019 and never looked back! And lost 40 pounds in 6 months, now I use the paleo food but with the keto macros and I continue my journey!

    I'm with u jess! Research and planning is key!!!! I researched for a good 30 days b4 I started! I read material and watched TH-cam videos Dr. Berry and Dr. Berg were key!! I didn't start tracking until after about 30 days because with the keto flu that was too overwhelming for ME

      I did some research, but dove right in. I didn't know what I was doing. Beforehand, I told a few people what I planned to do and they'd ask if I was going to load up on all the foods I'd no longer be eating. I said no. I knew it was only going to make my transition more difficult. So, I ate healthy and then started tracking and drinking lots and lots of water. Still learning as I go. I'm 8 weeks in.

    Thanks, Jess. I so needed to hear this. "Trust the process" especially resonates with me. I knew, starting out, I would have to heal before weight would come off, but if I'm honest I was hoping to see similar results others have had. I'm in week 8 and I think things are starting to move. I've had several health improvements already, for which I'm so grateful. I'm also glad I started this instead of the proverbial first of the year so I'm better prepared to navigate through the holidays.

    Thanks for these tips. Even though I am just starting Keto, the tho g I have going for myself is that I actually love myself. It took me until I was 59 yrs old to realize that I was kind to everyone except me. I can actually say that when I look at myself in the mirror I don't have one unkind thought going on in my head. I have told my Dr that even if I didn't loose weight I would still be ok but I know that this weight is effecting my health. I must become the best version of me and that means a healthy weight. I am so worth it!

    Excellent video,, I will hit my 1year of Keto February 15 th ,,,, it’s changed my life. I don’t do weigh ins because I know I would of gone crazy seeing the numbers change higher or nothing at all so I only weigh in at the doctors so basically twice this year, But what I can say is I have gone down from size 22 to a 16 and feel good plus all my labs results are perfect . Keep on educating us cuz we can always continue to learn something through your success

    I'm here in 2020 but you are so relatable from your starting weight to your feelings on things and thank you because I started ADF this week and I feel so much better! I'm easing in with a 36 hr fast and doing the 500 calories on the fast day so modified ADF but will move into plain old ADF when I feel ready. So happy I found your channel!

    Thank you. I look forward to your posts. I’m down 22lbs. My goal is to start tracking, wanted to get into the swings of the diet first. You are right, portion control is a huge learning curve. Passing on all the holiday treats has been challenging. I plan a off day for Christmas Day. I’m less concerned about jumping back in to the keto diet because overall I feel so much BETTER eating this way. Agree, we are all on our own journey.

I am already keto, but the way you talk about changing your thoughts and being kind and not beating yourself up is exactly what I needed to hear today. I struggle with depression in spite of being on meds, and sometimes I just don't have the energy to fight for myself, but I will keep trying.
