    I'm 54 and my wife and I are VERY worried about our future, gas and food prices rising daily. We have had our savings dwindle with the cost of living into the stratosphere, and we are finding it impossible to replace them. We can get by, but can't seem to get ahead. My condolences to anyone retiring in this crisis, 30 years nonstop just for a crooked system to take all you worked for.

      I feel your pain mate, as a fellow retiree, I’d suggest you look into passive index fund investing and learn some more. For me, I had my share of ups and downs when I first started looking for a consistent passive income so I hired an expert advisor for aid, and following her advice, I poured $30k in value stocks and digital assets, Up to 200k so far and pretty sure I'm ready for whatever comes.

      @@Elliot-Ivan The crazy part is that those advisors are probably outperforming the market and raising good returns but some are charging fees over fees that drain your portfolio. Is this the case with yours too?

    You missed the best place to live in TN...The Tri-Cities. Everything great about TN...and none of the tourists and artificially high prices. When you mentioned retiring on Pigeon Forge...you lost me. Pigeon Forge/Sevierville is a parking lot!

    • @lucyhood-thesmokymountaint4494
      @lucyhood-thesmokymountaint4494  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for your input! I can totally agree with you, but I chose to live here - even before I retired & I love it here! Believe it or not I've actually already helped 3 couples retire here in 2023. A lot of folks really like to be near the attractions & national park. Pigeon forge is within a days drive of 80% of the population of the entire US - so very often they get more visits from the grand kids being a convenient & fun place! I love the tri-cities as well!

      @@tonyb.5768 I don't spend a ton of time out that far East - but I would definitely say Bristol in my opinion. Bristol Motor Speedway has more going on than just the Nascar race. They have all sorts of cool events for motor junkies of all sorts and even concerts too. Love Bristol! Johnson City is more of a college town (where Kenny Chesney went to college. ETSU) and Kingsport I would just about consider Kentucky. Which is awesome cause you can double dip in both tax systems ;)

    These communities are unaffordable for most retirees. Can you please list affordable places in TN to retire? Most retirees are not rich. Most retirees have only a fraction of their working years' salaries. The average retiree benefit is around 40K a year. The most important thing for retirees is good medical care and nursing homes. It is better for most retirees to rent rather than buy. Are there affordable rentals for retirees in Tennessee?

    • @lucyhood-thesmokymountaint4494
      @lucyhood-thesmokymountaint4494  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Believe it or not, I have the scoop on several affordable places like this - just a little outside of the eye of the storm. I wouldn't suggest anyone to rent - you throw away money & pay someone else's mortgage when you do that. You can always do a HELOC and get that money back out of your house you own. You cannot do that with rent money, you might as well light it on fire. I'd love to talk more in depth with you on how I can help! Feel free to give me a call or text so I can get your best tailored fit! 865-264-0517

    Maryville is full, traffic cannot support the newbys. Don’t pick Blount Co. Pigeon Forge, Sevierville, and Gatlinburg are madhouses for crowds. Just keep that in mind.

    • @lucyhood-thesmokymountaint4494
      @lucyhood-thesmokymountaint4494  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would say Nashville has a lot more traffic than we do around here. I agree that just about every city in the USA has a shortage of inventory. I've lived in Sevier county for 15 years now, I don't personally think it's a mad house - especially if you know the back roads - but thank you for sharing your opinions!

      I really like Chatt! It's kind of a mixture of Georgia & Tennessee in my opinion. It also has the Ashville NC & Austin TX kind of feel. You're also pretty convenient driving to other major cities! But I have to admit, Knoxville is definitely more my style personally.
