    The Twins {Colorado's & Canyon's} are not available with homlink {garage door opener controls}, power sliding rear windows, power locking lift gate or a moonroof. All but the moonroof could have been added to the lineup without significantly raising the price.

      That's kind of what I thought... I have 20 year old vehicles that had that that weren't as optioned out. It just seemed odd to me. Guess they don't want to hurt full size sales too much lol.

      ratherbeboating10 Or potentially give up sales to other manufacturers that offer options they want

    Where was this truck assembled at?
    That would be my concern.
    My Son In Law just purchased a Z71. I have not seen it yet, maybe this weekend. (He lives 90 miles away)
    And that is the first thing I am going to check on the inside of the driver door.
    He seems pretty happy with it so far.
    The dealership tried to screw him at first over the price they quoted then switched. He simply walked out.
    (My Son In Law drove the 90 miles to the dealership and then they thought he would just take it after that long drive....Fools)
    However, they realized my Son In Law was not stoopid and then they came back with a reasonable offer a week later.
    A $38K Sticker knocked down to just over $30K with a $2500.00 trade in on his Jeep Liberty.

      I'll have to check the spid to see which plant it came from. I know my old one was moraine but that's long gone.

      @@ratherbeboating10 Canada would be a Good Thing. I would worry if anything was assembled or built in Mexico.
      BTW: Have you ever watched Scotty Kilmer TH-cam videos?
      He is a very good resource. Especially since he is a true mechanic and not just a 'Car Enthusiast/Reviewer'.
      Scotty has taught me a lot about what to look for...

      Colorado's and Canyon's are all assembled in Wentzville, MO. I bought the exact same 2019 Pac Blue z71 truck (sans the long bed). Oddly enough I also transitioned from a 2003 Trailblazer (with two years of a hand me down Cadillac SRX toward the end). Love everything about the truck other than the not SUPER comfortable seat and the lack of LED lighting out of the box. (will do that on my own)
      I did use my GM loyalty points from the purchase to buy the chrome/black bowties, at least in my eyes they fit the scheme better than the gold and found a deal on an inexpensive roll-up Tonneau. The last big upgrade that I'll be doing is a 1.25" leveling kit.

    • @ratherbeboating10
      @ratherbeboating10  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@uG0TRobbed it's funny, I find the seats extremely comfortable. I miss the dual zone climate and the trailblazer definitely handled better but the build and feel of the two is on par. After some experience with the tahoe and escalade the old 03 Escalade feels better than the 18 tahoe sadly and I just can't explain it. The tahoe feels like you'll hurt it if you mash the go pedal...

    How's the GM's 3.6 V6 reliability these days? They burned oil like crazy, and many crapped out with fewer than 100,000 miles back in mid to late 2000's. I had an unfortunate first hand experience with a CTS.

    • @ratherbeboating10
      @ratherbeboating10  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Entirely different 3.6 in these trucks. I was also nervous about that but they share hardly any similarities to the older 3600 style engines... Or so I'm told lol.

      @@ratherbeboating10 It's like a crapshoot with GM. They build some of the most bulletproof engines, as well as the worst turd muffins. Hope they fixed this one.

      i own a 2012 lfx v6 camaro; have 158k miles, daily driver, yes it had issues, but they fixed it under warranty. it runs great, and does not leak or burn oil , my biggestest complaint having to pay 450 to replace the 3rd brake light.. other than that car is tight. hope that helps

    Beautiful truck! Disagree on no luxury package (leather seats) and having running boards, but otherwise, perfect. Can't beat that color. Congrats.

    • @ratherbeboating10
      @ratherbeboating10  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you sir. The main reason I did the running boards is because the rocker under the door looks awkward and unfinished without them to me lol. As for the leather, they just weren't as comfortable. Strangely enough the canyon leather seats seemed better. Oh well. Thanks for the kind words.

    I’m in Jersey also I got a 2019 Colorado in March. if you still have that bedliner, mine is a lease and I’ve been waiting to see if I can buy it at the end of three years before I get a spray in, I would buy that insert from you to put on my lease if you still have it. Mine is the base LT model 4 x 4 so it didn’t come with the side steps or a bedliner. I love that color is that the pacific blue like when you look down at the ocean from a ship?

    • @ratherbeboating10
      @ratherbeboating10  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe that is what GM modeled the color after. I'm in Jersey as well. If you have the long bed and really do want it, let me know. It's sitting at the dealer right now because I don't have anywhere to store it.
      How do you like the truck?

  • @fneal68
    @fneal68 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    how is the power of the v6? is it sluggish, does it accelerate quickly? getting up to 60 mph pretty easy?

    • @ratherbeboating10
      @ratherbeboating10  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Have you driven new gm full size trucks within the last 5 years? If so it's similar.... the torque management makes it a tad sluggish off the line but the truck moves out past that well. I took the jump on a civic type R at a traffic light, he didn't expect me to launch hard and after the initial truck and a half I had on him he slowly closed the gap... its quick for a truck for sure. Tows well too. It's not fast, but it's more than enough for the truck.

      Consistent 6.4 sec 0-60 time. I have the WT ext. cab so the power to weight ratio is a bit better than the crew cab version.

      @@nelsonvanvickle8862 I've seen over on colorado fans, a few guys hitting mid 14s with similar numbers. There is allegedly some to be gained by removing the speed limiter too, it apparently short shifts on the big end a short distance before the traps. These trucks are fun.

    I truly wish you all the luck in the world , but for dealerships will not do anything more for me. No torque converter, no valvebody , or new transmission. I have 70000km on warranty left too.

      It's just nice not having to listen to the person in the seat next to you bitch they're cold... lol. My old truck had it and it was nice so... the trailblazer was arguably smaller too. It's my car anyway so the stat is mine. No touchy my thermostat. 😂

    What kind of mpg are you averaging?

    • @ratherbeboating10
      @ratherbeboating10  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      My lifetime average is about 21. Truck has roughly 22k on it now. Back and forth to work is 70 miles each way and I average about 72 with 5 miles in town. Those come out anywhere between 21 and 23. My in town is 18-20 depending on how heavy my foot is that week. More or less inline with the estimate. I don't drive it easy and it gets remote started in the morning for 2 minutes or so before I leave. I log it both through the trip computer and via mileage at fill ups with gallons. They're within 5% so I'm comfortable saying that it's pretty accurate. With the extended cab or short bed I could probably hit 24-25 all day highway

      @@garyfaulds2008 it's been about 23k since the flush or so. The trans guy said it usually doesn't come back if it was caught early enough. If the torque converter starts to glaze... game over. The other big thing is getting the fluid warm... seeing as I've maxed out the towing capacity and then some several times and always drive it like I stole it... that allegedly helps.It's honestly no worse than any other auto vehicle I've had... be it dodge, ford or chevy as far as the craptastic level of how well the trans works. My next truck will be a square body with a t56 swap because I'm sick dealing with new vehicles lol. Between this truck, my buddies ram and my cousins ford, they all blow. BMW and Mercedes lost my business a long time ago. Never had luck with Toyota.
