I was really surprise that you manage to drill holes on your all hard saw blade, usually if I was using a hss drill bit, it will snap in instant, what kind of drill bit that you used to drill the holes on the saw blade sir?
That was one heck of a saw blade. Great looking knife you've made!! I like the way you did the handle with the pins on the inside!! Enjoyed the video and I gave it a Thumbs Up
I am busy with a knife from a sawblade like that. it just gets harder the more you work it. I'm not even going to hear treat it. also, coffee stains it, but not black or grey, it's blueish colour.
Is that molybdenum? I made a light weight camping knife with the saw teeth on the back from a molybdenum power hacksaw blade (HRC ~62) just like that. It’s still holding up good after a year of use
High speed steels contain Mo (7-18% ish), W (3-7% ish ) Cr too depends on model, its heavier due to W, Brinnell hardness huge (diamond, or tungsten carbide drills required but the good ideea it doesn't need hardening, , grinding is useful to have SiC (carborundum) coated bands, and sand paper for hand. .
Glass has an HRC 70+ (or 7 on Mohr scale) usually steels are 53-65 HRC (around) some HSS artre capable if > 65 HRC dome like ANSI M42 reach 69-73 HRC if well hardened... I presume some recipes of HSS could reach ~75 HRC beyond that is the world of ceramics (carbides, nitrures, etc) but those are sintherized...
Отличная работа! Кстати этот материал уже очень много лет используют сапожники и закройщики. У самого таких три. А цена на старые Советские полотна высоки.
Man that was some hard material! Beautiful handle and unique assembly...loved it! Reminds me of an old Kershaw "Elk Hunter" I have. Nice EDC too. Well Done, Thanks Koss!
Very nice! What drill bit are you using? We tried to drill through a similar saw but it didn't work, we only succeeded with a plasma cutter but it left an ugly mark.

you're right =))

Absolutely
But a little too big for such a small knife.
Koss, The Knife is a work of art but the handle is a grand slam, beautiful work.

What saw is that blade from? Don't think I've ever seen one that big or thick!
from power hacksaw machines... those blades are easily broken when dull...

Most likely from a steel fab shop, I operate a bandsaw the blade is 17 1/2 ft long, I have a blade just like it
My wife told me the same thing!! 🤣
Very very nice!
I would make a second one with the saw blade still on. A multitool if you wish.

drilling holes in that blade... I can only say "Good Job!!!"

Handle is nice. I would've put a slight palm swell on it.
How to handle lack of Corrosion resistance in saw blade steel comparing stainless?
What did you use to drill the holes in the HSS?
What would've been cool was to have the saw teeth on the top of the blade.
Hmm.
For scaling fish I suppose?
Nope, because only idiots put a sawback on a knife! Grow up and stop thinking in online games.
