@@helium5912 did you notice how I said the most beautiful? Shockingly enough, some of the most beautiful things in the world weren't designed for construction sites. As a box cutter, letter opener, general household cutting, this is one of the most stunning knives ever. And literally nobody mentioned taking it into combat or cutting firewood with it.

Man, that is SO PERFECT. I love everything about it. All it's missing is the full chisel grind. However, what really makes it is the geometry. The way the scales are ground to bevel with the blade geometry and flow into the handle couldn't be achieved with a chisel grind. You'd have one unsymmetrical side, so while it's not a true kiradashi, it's piece of art I'd love to have in my collection. 😍

Absolutely beautiful. That is the work of a master. However, when he was pushing the wood through the band saw without a pusher stick, I had to cringe. On the first day of shop class in 8th grade, the shop teacher started by demonstrating a table saw. He was telling us about the possible dangers of using the saw, and to never push the wood through without a pusher stick. Then he proceeded to demonstrate why a pusher stick is so important. One the first cut he made ( no pusher stick), he cut his thumb right down the center to his joint. Messy as hell. And needless to say, shop class was cancelled. And he gave a great performance on why pusher sticks are so important. Never push wood through any type of cutting machine without a pusher stick.
An experienced craftsman may just feel more comfortable using their hands. I'm sorry but your shop teacher sounds like a dipshit, safety is important but it's really not difficult to avoid sawing a piece of yourself off.
I tried to send you a private message but it wouldn't let me. Inquiring how much it costs to have you build one of those piñatas 😉 like you just did... haha
Love the facets and the stabilized scales...very unique and beautiful to behold! Looks to be pretty heavy based on the O1 thickness but the facets would make it stable to hold and use. Great work, Koss! Thanks Much!

if you draw a line with your cut off wheel following the chalk line you made, and then go deeper and deeper with each pass you can achieve a nice, straight cut without risking walking the blade and will cut nicer than the method you were using. I have been a metal fabricator for 20 years. best of luck. excellent job!
