The new house is looking so good. We almost bought something similar when we were looking at Chattanooga, but ended up in a modern condo instead. Love that charm though of the older stuff!
Hey there! Leah here...Heidi & Justin’s friend!👋 so pathos plants only need to be watered when you see their leaves visibly drooping, if there’s bugs in the plants that means your over watering. We moved back from CT to Seattle so next time your in town you can use the our driveway to stay in.🌧🌲
Good tip!! I’ll keep an eye open for those plants to add to my little plant family. ☺️ and thank you so much for offering up your driveway! We just may take you up on that when we finally make it out that way. I hope your move back to Seattle was a good one- enjoy those mountains for us!! 😄

i'm a bit late to the party, but as for your plant you had by the entertainment center, here's a good rule of thumb that worked for me: if the leaves turn brown, kinda soggy, or just brown in any way, you overwatered it, add +1 day to the watering schedule. bonus: you'll also get rid of the little flies around the plant because they thrive in wet, humid enviroments. if leaves turn yellow, you underwatered it, add -1 day to the watering schedule till it's okay. :) source: kept that specific plant and a lot more alive over three years! plants are my hobby
We watched this Sunday on our TV but you can't comment from there and I'm just getting around to it today. I love that front porch and the swing. That's my biggest regret about our house is the tiny front porch. I'm betting there used to be a wall where those poles are now, I like the more open style without the wall and the poles don't bother me. I guess those are the same 27" iMacs that used to be in Van 1.0. I was worried about Chris's eyes during the leaf blower slo-mo fun. have you replace the camera yet? There were some parts of this where I thought the auto-focus was better and maybe you were using the Z6 for this and others where I thought, nope that looks like Panasonic autofocus. Either way, this was a fun video as always. See ya next week.
Hey Phil! Great question, not yet! We're still using the GH5. It's not ideal but it's working (it took us 3 tries filming the house tour for the microphone to work properly 😅). We've narrowed our search to a Sony but it's pricey so we're saving a bit more money before we make the plunge! 🙂
So our house from 1890 has post like that but at the bottom there are built up (like 2+ feet) which gives a nice shelf and makes a possible weird thing, a beautiful feature. Also you could do see though book shelves to put your loads of books you have! Would look super great! Just some thoughts!
ooo! i love the idea for bookshelves there!! We're going to have to keep that in mind because that could be a really cool feature! Thanks for sharing. :)
With your aesthetic, a black and white gallery wall may suit. Organise your frames on the floor then make a paper template for the wall to easily place hooks❤️🏡
Thanks for sharing your home with us. You could do a daybed in the office. It could serve as a couch in the day and a bed at night. Just a suggestion. Also your dog is so cute ♡
Regarding the plant... I can't tell from the video, but I would just make sure it's getting enough sun! And if it can't go near a east or west facing window (don't put it near a south facing window, it will burn the leaves), then don't water it as much. That'll introduce pests and make the roots rot because the soil isn't drying out. Pothos are definitely one of the easiest plants, but if you're wanting something that will need even less attention I would recommend a snake plant :)
I enjoyed the update ... you guys have done a great job so far. Not much more need, if you ask me, it's open and clutter free .... Thanks for the update!!!

Plant Love 🌱💜 1: Needs a new bigger pot and soil. It’s outgrown what it’s in. Looks like there could be more than one plant in there too so you could separate and have them in pots throughout your home. 2: Needs consistent amount of water. I water from the same container every time, that way I don’t over or under water. Once a week should be good. Dont water if first inch of soil is still damp. That’s all 💜 House is lovely like the three of you!
Thank you so much for those tips! I think buying it a new container is on the agenda for today. I was waiting to see if I could keep it alive before investing in a new one. 😅
I love your home! It looks so warm and cozy! And the columns add such character...I would leave them! Question, where did you get the light next to the master bed? I have been looking for something like that for ours!
Thanks, y’all!! ☺️ I wish I could tell you where those lights are from but they actually came with the house. I will say the owners said most of the lights in the house came from West Elm so I’d recommend checking there. ☺️
Snake plants are incredibly easy plants. Very little light and water needed. Obviously the more you give it, the faster it will grow. Pothos plants are really easy too. I find the less light a plant needs the easier they are to take care of and not kill. Key to houseplants...don’t over water.
Catching up on some back vlogs. (There are so many I haven't seen... LOL) Glad to see you got a house, and have plans to make it your home. Still.... Travel Safe.
Pothos is easy. Replant into a little bigger pot with a drain hole and saucer under. Also keep legs on it trimmed back to no more than about 9 inches long or so. You can propagate the cuttings from the legs into more plants...they're beautiful.
we picked a neighborhood close to downtown and that's walkable. There are lots of great neighborhood options in Chattanooga and each one has a very different feel!
I made a comment yesterday about boxing in the columns with wood. Not that I hate the columns but... Now I have a better idea, box each column in wood and then make bookcases between the columns and the walls, painted to match the walls. It would still be open to the dining room but provide lots of storage for those books that you love. And would be an interesting architectural feature.
Love the house. Thanks for giving my face a chance to smile cause its been rarity lately. You all are the best and I'm big time fan. Thanks for the giggles
So cute! Recommend spraying been oil when watering your plants - kills those pesky gnats that will eat the roots! We spent a week in Chattanooga in a cute Airbnb over spring break and loved the charm that was similar to your house!
Leaf blower was hysterical 🤣 We love the house, AND the load bearing pillars. We've got three going in next week. Perfect "Basecamp" for all your adventures. Can't wait to see up close. Sending Best Wishes and Blessings, James and Kim
hello i am from chattanooga and i want to say welcome to the most scenic city of the south Chattanooga tn, i love your videos, i recently moved to kentucky and i feel so home sick at times ut your videos make me happy, oh and neat fact at 5:19 of your video the water out your window flows upwards lol but welcome to chattanooga.
Absolutely love the style of your home! It would be our dream to find one like this in CO. Next time we’re visiting family in AR, we’ll have to make a side trip to Chattanooga too!
What a lovely home! Love the columns, you could always have them boxed in, but I think they add character! Love the backyard too! Many blessings! ~Cara 😊
Your home is beautiful and I like the pillars. Loving that front porch. String of pearls plant is easy to grow and would look good on the porch. Also, look up and read, ...Why you should have your piano on inside wall... Joshua Ross. You can have it on an outside wall but away from vents, windows, etc. Protect it from temperature change.
Thanks, Beth! We'll definitely look to see if we can move the piano to an interior wall to better protect it. Unfortunately our house is so tiny I think the only wall it would fit on is where our couch is. Definitely going to look up String of Pearls plants though! I'm heading to Home Depot later so I'll keep my eyes open. :)
House is adorable. From personal experience, in small bedrooms keep beds small otherwise the rooms start feeling cramped. Guests aren’t staying that long so get a double (or extra long double), they will be comfortable for a week or two. Please give us a follow up review of the ruggables in a year.
Christmas cactus. You really can not kill them. Only requires water once every few months. Depending on the pot size. You can make the watering really easy by getting self watering pots.
Love this! Good inspiration ideas for my apartment :) I literally yelled "Colony House!" when I saw their album. Such a cozy home, congrats again friends!
Allow me to say welcome to Tennessee! I have traveled the country , well a lot! As a truck driver an adventurer and a gypsy if you will. Didn't exactly plan it, lol. But you know, life. Chattanooga is amongst my favorites! The view at Chickamauga lake is so Norman Rockwell ish! Living art. Central to so many great destinations in the eastern half of the country. I appreciate your work and just came across by accident in my research and entertainment time. Informative and entertaining. Pleased to be a sub. And oh yes, the Northern west coast is also in my top 5! Route 1 is amazing. Mt. Rainier... just breath taking! Thank you for sharing.
Congrats y'all, it looks awesome! ✨👏👏👏👏👏✨ The porch swing is perfect . Will y'all be having sweet tea or Mint Julip's while swinging ? The Colums can be a foundation for all things holiday when it comes to decorating. I love that room with all the "stuff". Y'all are so real & authenric & that's one of the reasons we LOVE y'all . In the "STUFF" room, you mentioned it being a office & guest room . I lived in NYC for 18yrs & Murphy beds were so practical & space saving . That might be a cute idea. Another favorite componite is the piano . Y'all have to have a Christmas Sing Along . In closing, thank y'all for sharing your home . It's beautiful just like y'all !!! Blake From Ider, AL now in Southern CA . P.s. I shared y'all's channel with my cousIn Bridget in Tiftona .
Hey y'all! Thanks so much for the encouraging and helpful comment! We'll definitely have to consider a murphy bed for the guest room. As far as the Christmas sing a long goes.... I'm a terrible singer and still very rusty on the piano. 🙈 Hope y'all are well and a huge thank you for sharing our channel with your cousin!! 😊
If you don't mind me asking, how old are you guys? :D When/how did you feel this was the way to go, transitioning between lifestyles? Love the content.
Hey there! I'm (Sara) 29 and Chris is 33! That's a great question, I'd highly recommend watching our video about our story here: th-cam.com/video/fXwCtHDDn7Q/w-d-xo.html
Looks great guys! What a great idea to build the on! I ❤️ all your ‘drawings’! It took me 2 yrs to move into our house 🤣 Can’t wait to see your Going TTS road pics (one of my favorite places on earth) You’re the first van-lifers I’ve ever followed and you have my heart cause I live in Seattle! I can’t wait to see what’s next! Cheers!
Thanks so much!! ❤ We love Chattanogoa but we'd be lying if we said we didn't miss Seattle like crazy, too! Enjoy those mountains (and maybe some General Porpoise) for us until we can get back there later this year. :)
The leaves are yellowing, may be caused by a nitrogen defiency.. may want to look into adding to the soil... fast way would be blood meal or alfalfa meal, or coffee grounds... or find a somewhat higher compost on the first number.
Your house is darling, and it looks great for the short time you’ve been there. We had a LOT more boxes after 4 months! Just a crazy thought - did you ever think of using your van as a guest room?
Thank you!! :) And YES! We definitely have considered the van as a guest room. However, we've also considered renting it out on Outdoorsy when we're home so we'd like to have a backup guest room option. :)
Just came across your channel and subbed. I am in East Tennessee about 2 1/2 hours or so from Chattanooga but I really love visiting when I get the chance. Y'all should do the Ghost tours there if you haven't already and go across the bridge and do the painting class it makes a good fun date night! Anyway enjoy the channel keep it up.
They actually came with the house so unfortunately I can't say where they're from. I do know we love them though so if you find something similar I can't recommend them enough. :)
This is so crazy! I live in Chattanooga too and got recommended this video! Im curious as to why you guys chose Chattanooga? I mean sure it is beautiful, and I grew up here but what was the deciding factor? Also, love the house!
Glad you're here! So we both have family ties nearby to Chattanooga and Sara has lived in the area before and we enjoy the South, so a couple different reasons!
I have a plant that looks similar and I always thought it was called a philodendron. Basically you’re more apt to kill a plant by overwatering. They will tell you when they need water by getting droopy but I only water my plants every week to two weeks. Also on TH-cam they have videos about adding hydrogen peroxide to your water. Water is H2O and hydrogen peroxide is H2O2 so you’re getting twice the amount of oxygen. Check out the videos so you know the correct ratio Of H202 and water.
I would do a Murphy bed for the guest room and maybe sell the fridge and get one with a fridge on top and a freezer drawer on the bottom, problem solved . If you don't want lawn maintenance you can do fake grass in the yard , they've come a long way. Cute house and enough for 2 people.

Add a murphy bed to the extra bedroom and then you can still have an office/studio and spare bedroom when needed.
Love that idea, thank you!

Super helpful, thank you!! Buying a new (prettier) pot for it is on the agenda today. I’ll work on trimming it back, too. ☺️
Sorry if this was asked before, but what neighborhood/area/subdivision are you located in? Love the style of your home!
we picked a neighborhood close to downtown and that's walkable.
That's such an interesting idea, very creative and helpful for extra storage!
I think your place is really cute like a cottage or bungalow should be. I really like your drapes in the living room. Very unique and interesting.
Thank you, Kathy! 😊
The front porch is amazing 🤩
It's now one of our favorite places!
Love the house. Thanks for giving my face a chance to smile cause its been rarity lately.
You all are the best and I'm big time fan.
Thanks for the giggles
That is so sweet, thank you so much! We're glad to give you a laugh!
@@chrisandsara anytime you'all find yourself in Ventura, CA you always have a place to park and enjoy our side of the US. Micasa sucasa!!
Lovely house across from a castle. Very happy for you.
Thank you, Brian! :)
So cute! Recommend spraying been oil when watering your plants - kills those pesky gnats that will eat the roots! We spent a week in Chattanooga in a cute Airbnb over spring break and loved the charm that was similar to your house!
thanks for the plant advice! Hope you enjoyed your time in Chattanooga!
I love your videos. Very inspiring and wholesome. Makes me miss Chattanooga a lot!
Thank you so much! You'll have to visit again someday.
Leaf blower was hysterical 🤣
We love the house, AND the load bearing pillars. We've got three going in next week. Perfect "Basecamp" for all your adventures. Can't wait to see up close. Sending Best Wishes and Blessings, James and Kim
Thanks, y'all! As always your comment made our day. Can't wait to see the pillars in your kitchen! Hope our paths cross soon! 😊
As a Chattanoogan currently living in Chicago, I loved this video!
Thanks for watching! 😃 we’re a couple of Chattanoogans who love Chicago!
hello i am from chattanooga and i want to say welcome to the most scenic city of the south Chattanooga tn, i love your videos, i recently moved to kentucky and i feel so home sick at times ut your videos make me happy, oh and neat fact at 5:19 of your video the water out your window flows upwards lol but welcome to chattanooga.
Thank you, so glad you are enjoying our videos!
Absolutely love the style of your home! It would be our dream to find one like this in CO. Next time we’re visiting family in AR, we’ll have to make a side trip to Chattanooga too!
Please do!! We'd love to have y'all and we have lots of mtn biking here!
lol Chris is so funny! i have loved the house ♥
What a lovely home! Love the columns, you could always have them boxed in, but I think they add character! Love the backyard too! Many blessings! ~Cara 😊
Thanks, y'all! :) Hope you're doing well!
Hello Neighbor, I live in Chattanooga too, it so beautiful here... I love your house, hope you enjoy living here..
Hey there neighbor, always great to hear from fellow Chattanoogans!
Place looks great. The porch is so nice. I love having a piano in a home. It shouldn’t be on an outside wall though - it’s not good for the harp.
Oh wow that's good to know, thank you!
Good tip!! Thanks, Joan! We'll definitely update on the rugs again in a year if we don't forget. :)
Y'all randomly showed up on my youtube feed... I immediately recognized your house due to all the rosemary. It turns out we live 600' west of y'all.
No way! Such a small world! Please say hi if you ever see us out and about. 😊We love the neighborhood and have really enjoyed meeting our neighbors.
Wow, that is a sweet house!
Thank you! We absolutely love it. ☺️
I like the Montana Glacier idea
It’s so nice and cozy! That porch though! 👌🏼
Definitely our favorite part!
Christmas cactus. You really can not kill them. Only requires water once every few months. Depending on the pot size. You can make the watering really easy by getting self watering pots.
I didn't even know that self watering pots were a thing! So cool! Thanks for the suggestions, Carrie. :)
Love this! Good inspiration ideas for my apartment :) I literally yelled "Colony House!" when I saw their album. Such a cozy home, congrats again friends!
YESSSS! So many good memories associated with that album. Can we just go back to summer of 2014 for a bit?! I miss riding my bike with you!
There home is Craftman style in TN
Thank you for the welcome and for following along with us!
love it !!! to pick it up the feathers in the front yard is something that I didn't long time ago :( …Enjoy Guys !!!
Thank you!
Congrats y'all, it looks awesome!
✨👏👏👏👏👏✨
The porch swing is perfect .
Will y'all be having sweet tea or
Mint Julip's while swinging ?
The Colums can be a foundation for all things holiday when it comes to decorating.
I love that room with all the "stuff".
Y'all are so real & authenric & that's one of the reasons we LOVE y'all .
In the "STUFF" room, you mentioned it being a office & guest room .
I lived in NYC for 18yrs & Murphy beds were so practical & space saving .
That might be a cute idea.
Another favorite componite is the piano .
Y'all have to have a Christmas Sing Along .
In closing, thank y'all for sharing your home .
It's beautiful just like y'all !!!
Blake
From Ider, AL now in Southern CA .
Such a good house. The whole property is sweet. And it is being properly christened by Kramer. 🤣🤣🤣
😂Kramer has certainly made it his own! Hope you're doing well, Allison!
For a king-sized bed, consider both a conventional king 78” x 78” snd a California king at 72” w x 84” long.
Definitely will! thank you for the suggestion! :)
Lovely house
very nice home - thanks for sharing! I dig the pillars :) congrats again
Thanks, John! We love them too :)
I love the posts. They are a little something !!
Baseball season starts May 3rd you need to go and see the lookouts play
Great idea!
I like the post, it's different and u can do so much fun things with it, including hanging a hammock if u wanted lol.
Such a good idea!
Love your home! I live in Chattanooga too! I hope you like it down here !
Hey there neighbor, thank you!
Lovely s seeme so happy to have s home base
Agreed! Still feels surreal to have a home base and the opportunity to travel!
Don't try to blame anything on Kramer! He's NEVER at fault! #legend
😂😂😂You're right, how dare we publicly embarrass him like that. He's truly a legend. lol
Lol love the house love the leaf blower
Thank you!
Looooove it!!!! So jealous. What about a really nice sleeper couch for the guest/office. Thanks for the videos. 🌸🤗
Aw thank you! What a great idea!
These are great ideas, thank you!
Your home is lovely!❤️
Thanks so much!
Anyone complaining about posts should really just refrain from commenting.
Great ideas, ghost tours sounds a little scary but we will have to check out the painting class! Thanks for following along!
I might have missed it, but where did you get your window shades and how do you like them? I'm tired of my dust-collecting blinds.
They actually came with the house so unfortunately I can't say where they're from. I do know we love them though so if you find something similar I can't recommend them enough. :)
Gorgeous, gorgeous home! Happy memories. :-)
Thanks so much☺️
This is so crazy!
Great ideas, thank you!
