In this informative video, Kelly delve into the question: "Does Dehydration Cause High Blood Sugar?" Dehydration occurs when the body loses more fluids than it takes in, leading to a decrease in the overall volume of water in the body.
This reduction in fluid levels can affect the concentration of glucose in the blood, potentially causing blood sugar levels to rise. When the body is dehydrated, it may produce higher levels of glucose in an attempt to compensate for the lack of fluids.
Additionally, dehydration can lead to an increase in insulin resistance, making it more difficult for the body to regulate blood sugar levels effectively. As a result, individuals who are dehydrated may experience fluctuations in their blood sugar levels, potentially leading to hyperglycemia or elevated blood sugar levels.

I get up and take my blood sugar test. Before drinking water. Today 93. So if I drink water now, then take it maybe 1-2 hours later, it will drop? Interesting. I was aware to drink lots of water before clinic blood tests. But wasn’t thinking that after sleep, my blood sugar would be higher. Thank you. I’ll try this. Also I take a thyroid pill and can’t eat for an hour anyway. Thank you for your info.
