Good to see a video Jay. Great job on the mixer. I did it once myself with my dads old mixer. Messy AF. There was no pressure washer just a garden hose and a stiff old brush.
Hey matey. Great to hear from you. Much appreciated. Just a quick video to kind of get me some practise in trying to remember camera settings etc I used to use before I film more important / fresh content. best to make mistakes now
@@JaysFabShop you did fine Jay, as I suspect you usually do I am sitting here passing out trick or treat goodies as the little goblins stop by and saw your subscription notice. The wife takes over for me soon. We take turns.
Nice job Jay,I have a ww2 shovel that I used to mix concrete but never washed it off when I finished with it,I’ll try brick acid to clean it,thanks for the tip👍
Another good way mate is some sharp stones and some water in fill it turn it on let it spin for an hour it will clean it pretty good. Also if making concrete cleans them to as the stones scrap the sides clean good vid m8
Generally that's called a Concrete mixer. Cement mixers have turning paddles but the drum is stationary. The design difference is because concrete has stone in it, which would jam up and destroy the paddles... The solution was to just have the whole drum spin and tumble. A concrete mixer will handle both materials. A mortar/cement mixer will not. Splitting hairs but still.. there is a difference between a cement/motar mixer and a concrete mixer.
Thank you. I did think this to be fair but didn’t have anything suitable around me. But when I use it tomorrow I am going to do this after finished. Ring again very true. Thinking of just welding it quick or maybe replacing it and making a video on it.
Some people just throws 3 or 4 shovles full of gravel and let it run a while. With acid besure to netrulize thr acid wirh sodium bicarbonate or it can eat throught thr metal.
Not really for this job. Partly as a lot of the contact is onto the mortar but also it’s only really on for a short period and then washed off. My bucket isn’t the best anyway 😝
Just a quick video to get me back into the swing of things and also to help show that mixers can be cleaned after neglect. Jay
Thanks very much for making this helpful video, I don't have a power washer but I will buy some brick acid.

Stick a bucket of sharp stones, or small brick ends in it with some acid mix and let it run for half an hour.
Could do with welding up the ring too.
Thank you. I did think this to be fair but didn’t have anything suitable around me. But when I use it tomorrow I am going to do this after finished.

Doesn't the acid corrode metal?

All we use to do is put water in the drum and broken bits of brick or shingle. And just let the mixer run for a bit
Correct mate. But more after you just used it. Doesn’t work so well with hard dried on cement. Needs the acid
No safety glasses..??
Yes
@@JaysFabShop Good luck to you..
