Probably the first time I’ve seen a TH-cam video that combined a ladder and a chainsaw where things didn’t go horribly wrong. Great job!

Ha, funny thing is before i watched any Buckin videos i made sure to watch as many tree fails i could stomach. Yes, ladders and chainsaws is a bad combination.
But here we have Buckin calculating every move in his head before hand and using the reference of experience and doing a very dangerous job safely. Great edutainment.

@@michaelpcooksey5096 still a stupid idea, never try this at home, even if u string urself to the tree, if it goes bad ur stuck to a falling tree without the the last resort of jumping of the ladder, this just gives people stupid ideas and people are gonna get hurt in the process, never use a chainsaw on a ladder, no matter how big u think ur balls are

@@MathieusChainsawCarvings I agreed. Sold. The 'Idiots With Chainsaws' series show a lot of examples ... I don't even own a chainsaw and would have to rent one to use. Had a huge diameter Catelpa next to the house & called professionals to bring it down. It held bees, squirrel nests, and the bottom diameter revealed it to be completely hollow inside with only a watermelon rind live cambium layer around the circumference. They took it from the top down. Diameter had to be around six feet. The owner of the company came on site and managed everything. When it came time to finish the stick he had the longest bar I've ever seen and had to go around the tree like a can opener then lever it off the stump.

You got me a little nervous at 14:15 when you put your saw across the line that was holding you up. I touched my line once with a brand new blade and it wasn't good. Needless to say I wasn't using a steel core that day. That floating feeling...even for a split second...is something I'll never forget. Fortunately I was able to grab on to something. Buckin. I’d love to see a video on your perspective on starting a tree business these days for us young folk. Its proving quite the challenge finding jobs for me. Although I am in the uk, so I’m guessing it’s a quite different business over here. Keep up the inspiring work!

    • @BuckinBillyRaySmith

well woody there is a big mis conception about business , and it is that if yer really good at something you should make it in business, or thats what is needed . well young man , it definitely helps to be good at what yer doin'.. but guess what , you have to get the job first to show them what your craft is like .. so they can talk about you to all there friends. and how do we do that ? well thats the 80 % of business. cuttin' the tree and stuffin' it in the chipper and rakin' up and blowin' everything off ... well that the 20 % , and there's alot of humans that can do that , and super good to .. see where i 'm goin' with this . ? Business is 80% the handshake brother . quick analogy ;: you go in and price a job $750.00 , you are there a total of 5 min. your on yer phone , kinda given off a , i dont really care if i get this job or not kinda feel . you dont look them in the eye , not added conversation , accept what a pain this tree we be to get down. ,, all bis . in and out. , then I go in . first thing i say is thx so much for calling us , we are grateful for the opportunity and wow! what a nice property . . instantly they like me better , instantly , if i am sincere , we are animals with senses , we smell B.S. they can smell you. next i say, "oh, this lil' fella over here? this is no problem,,, we wood be in and out in 4 hr and the cost to you wood be''... you guessed it.. $750.00 . here is my card. thx again . we wood love to earn your business and knock yer socks right off your freakin' feet, so that when were done you will tell all your friend s about us .. we are a new up and comin' business with families. and are hopin to maintain our clients trees.., as multiple tree people in one tree is not good. thought i'd throw that in there ,, which is actually true BTW. anyway you know what to do. service the living shanaka's out of them once yer in . every job you get is potentially thousands of dollars , fellers make the mistake of thinkin' its only one job . once you get the job . oh boy it is on . you love yer job so how cant they feel that from you . you go get em Son . Do It

@@BuckinBillyRaySmith Thanks Buckin’. That makes so much sense to me! We have job centres here in the uk where they’re supposed to help you, but all they tell you is to advertise in lots of places, but nothing about customer service. There’s very few people in this world like yourself that know how to be real with people, or that know how to properly help people. I speak for all of your fans when I say we really appreciate the advice you give us and the way you see the world. It makes so much more sense than the way we’re taught to see it as we grow up. Hi Buckin. Most people would laugh at you when you tell them that you have learned a lot about cutting from TH-cam. That's when you follow it up with reminding them that you have to consider your source, their experience, and their credibility. You provide quality videos reflecting experience and credibility. Thank you for your dedicated efforts in providing subscribers with quality material. A question I have for you is:
How/in what matter do you determine how to make your undercut on a Humboldt notch? I make the horizontal cut and aim the tree, but struggle to make the correct angled cut to match up the horizontal cut, leaving a larger gap on one side of the undercut compared to the other. Do you have any advice or tricks to make that second cut on the undercut match the first horizontal cut? Thanks!

Sou um carreteiro de carga pesada
Vivo nas estradas deste meu país
Na minha cabine eu faço morada
Da minha maneira eu sou bem feliz
Não podo na faixa, nem uso banguela
    Vou pensando nela minha companheira
Que ficou distante lá em outro estado
Trago São Cristóvão sempre do meu lado
Com o bruto pesado eu cruzo outra fronteira
No meu pára-choque escrevi a frase
Que esta escrita no meu coração
Deus anda comigo, não corro perigo
O amor caminha no meu caminhão

Trying my best to find good people to work for me and having luck so far. Thanks for sharing; and I also need to know what you have in back of your truck to hold all your chainsaws!

371xp was my very first Husqvarna chainsaw, I had to rebuild it, and that's what got me into porting and having fun with chainsaws like Iron Horse and especially Tin Man.

Billy Ray, whenever I fall a tree in an area where “personal property” is, I always use 2 guide ropes to keep the tree from falling in that direction and to stop “Joey Bag o' Donuts” from ruining my day . . .

Just curious bugging the last tree you climbed to set the rope you didn't have a throw ball or you don't like using them I'm just curious it would have saved you so much energy just to throw a throw ball up her and put a timber hitch to the back of the tree down or your back cut is
