- just wanted to do a quick how to for installing or changing out the tweeters in the door pillars on gmc sierra model 2007-13 please leave a like if it helped you and subscribe for more vids thanks
Thank you for trying to win an Oscar for an original score for the lead in to the video. Also, no visual effects.
Background music is fine. Not loud or distracting.
Now I need to watch the video for the instructions.
Mark Nace thanks im glad you liked it. Hope it helps ! Now watch the video lol please leave a like
You are the man!!! I'm brand new and trying to fig this out In my Enclave! U just gave me the best cheat sheet
Glad i could help!!!!! Thanks for watching the vid, please leave a like and consider subbing. thanks!!!
What tweeter did you use? What size? Would it work for the previous gen pickups?
thank you for the crossover tip!
No problem hope it helps!!
Nice. I was gonna say damn I hope he wired the tweeters to the crossover and not to the stock tweeter wiring, a lot of ppl make that mistake
Why do you need crossovers?
@@joejoe5418 Passive crossover in this case (the included ones in the package)
if you dont use the passives (or any active crossovers,) the tweeters and the mids will/can play frequencies that are too low, and that will damage them and theyll blow
@@Luminous.DynamicsI'm having an issue with my 08 yukon. I'm using alpine s2 s65c components. With a crossover in line with the tweeters so you don't have to pull wires. And use the existing wires for tweeters. I got the rear door 6.5's installed. They sound good. Got one front tweeter installed in the pillar. It sounds good. But when I installed a front door 6.5 it has no bass at all. Just light treble? It's non bose my rpo code is Qu3
Im looking for a replacement for mine in an '03 silverado. Theyre discontinued. Did you get a full jbl set of speakers for your truck? Im also looking to replace the factory bose speakers. Was thinking harmony infinity speakers for the 6.5 inch door speakers. Its why im asking. Id rather just order a complete set
Yes these were part of a component set, came with a set of 6.5’s, crossover and tweeters .
Your sub on the 4 channel amp, how is it wired? 4 ohm or 2 ohm? I heard you say it’s on channel 3
I more than likely had it wired in 4ohm on channels 3 & 4 bridged. If I remember correctly that amp was a 4 ohm stable amp so it was wired at 4 ohm to match the front speakers. Hope this helps
@@ManuelMoctezuma thank you
@@portcity1911 no problem
Did this kit come with brackets for door speakers ?
Honestly I don’t remember, but mostly likely not . If I remember correctly I ended up cutting the old speakers out of the bracket and using it with new seals
What color is negative and which is positive on the truck wiring???
I honestly cannot remember I will look this up and let you know .
Is it important to run crossovers on door speakers ?
I would , unless you can fine tune you’re speakers with your head unit or using the crossovers on the amp. If you plan to use the tweeters I would definitely use them on those. But honestly it’s up to you. Try running them with and without see what sounds better to you. Hope this helps. I’m doing a new video on the speakers , an unboxing sorta and review. If you want to check it out make sure you sub and thanks for watching
I’m looking for similar setup but I jus wanna replace my door speakers. What type of speakers do you suggest I go with? I see you use components but I’m not a speaker person so I’m kind of lost when it comes to this type of stuff. Jus want a good sound an keep my factory tweeters for now.
are you keeping factory headunit? if so, to be honest any speaker would be an improvement to the factory speakers. a few things to keep in mind is the power you get from the stock headunit isnt much so you'd want a speaker to handle what it pushes to them. if you want to keep your tweeters i'd add a set of midbass speakers unless you just want to add that much more to your highs. you can add an amp later so and it would definitely improve your sound. as far as brand goes, that's personal preference. i personally like jbl because they sound and aren't too expensive. i hope this helps and leave a like. and consider subscribing for more videos like this. thanks
It is important to always run some sort of crossover or filter cap ( look at a coaxial speaker and you will see a small capacitor ) for tweets, they can blow very quickly with very little power if you send low than rated frequencies to them, even if you are running a full active system you should still use a cap inline on the + of the tweeter.
@@ManuelMoctezuma is it any kind of wat to add tweet. By tappin in yo the factory tweets
I have door speakers, do you recommend I get an amp?
I do, depending on what the speakers recommend, rms power should match the amps and also check ohms and make sure are compatible.
@@ManuelMoctezuma what will it do? Because I already have 12s for base... will it make vocals more clear and mids?
@@ggproductions8434 yes exactly , unless you just like a lot of bass. It help clear up and even out the sound. Crossovers help to
Thanks for the video. Just to note, you have an NNBS silverado, not an NBS silverado. The NBS silverado is 2000 to 2006 (and 2007 classic). The NNBS silverado is 2007 to 2013 (and 2014 for HD trucks).
+jacob p thanks for the clarification I knew it was one of those new body style’s! Lol thanks for watching and consider subscribing
jacob p damn burn ahahhahahahaha
@@ManuelMoctezuma Yo bro do think these tweeters fit 2000-2006?
@@TheBully010 I can’t be 100 percent sure but most likely yes. I’d probably check crutchfield and see what the stock size is. These came with multiple adapters so they’ll probably fit with minor adjustments. Thanks for watching hope this helps
Background music should go, would’ve made it soooo much easier to hear u. Maybe use a headset or anything cuz I do great job but can’t hear what ur saying. Thx man
Thanks for the feedback man! I’ll keep that in mind for next video! Hope this helped
I installed one side to my stock strerio and it does not sound loud and does not have bass like the original on the other . do u think I need the amp to make it sound better
j mal36 absolutely man, it would definitely help. But keep in mind the bass needs to come from a dedicated subwoofer if possible. I’d make sure to look at the speaker specs and adjust the amp accordingly, set your frequencies right so you don’t blow your new speakers. If you have this same set and it comes with a crossover let the crossover do it’s job. Id set the amp to high pass, or you can use full range but use your judgement as to which sounds better. Hope this helps, leave a like and consider subscribing thank
Thanks man I appreciate the help
Do you need to have a amplifier with these speakers
knandez99 it’s not necessary but it would definitely help. Try and match the rms power on the speaker for it to sound the best. I had a about 80 watts going to then and definitely helped . Hope this helps please leave a like and consider subscribing for more videos thanks
I have a 2011 silverado 1500 where do tweeter cable feeds from? I did changed my 4 speakers door and supplying them from a 4 channel amp, Im gonna replace the tweeter also but I dont know if this feeds from front speakers?
Or do have to connect them straight to aftermarket radio or do I need a crossover like in your video?
The tweeters should be running in Parallel to the front door speakers. They have factory installed bass blockers. Your best bet is to leave that bass blockers in between the door and tweeter or install ones that are included with you’re tweeters. Now days bass blockers are soldered you the tweeters themselves in that case just use that. I hope this helps please leave a like and consider subscribing
Hey brother do you need to buy a cross over or us it optional
If you’re only wiring/installing tweeters you shouldn’t need a crossover. Your tweeters should come with some sort of bass blocker/ resistors. And depending on door speakers you shouldn’t need one for those either if those come with built in tweeters. All the crossover does in the case of separates is keep the highs at the tweeters and mids/ Low’s at the woofer. I amped my front stage for a better sound and the crossover in the amp would essentially do the same thing but just make sure you only use an amp and speakers that match up with impedance/ohms and power. Hope this helps
Did you use a component speaker for the rear?
I never actually replaced the rear speakers. I left them stock. Just installed the components in the front
Hi, so, do i need an amp to make these work?
Not necessarily, just depends on how much power you want out of them. And depending on what headunit you have you might have enough power. Most factory headunits don’t put out as much power and after market will usually put out a little more(about34-45 watts) per channel . But usually anywhere between 45-65 watts is where these can handle. Hope this helps and consider leaving a like and maybe subscribe thanks
@@ManuelMoctezuma thanks for the reply, I already Install them, they sound good, thanks for the reply
You should do a sound test. See how it performs. Been looking into these jbl components for the past few weeks.
i will get a sound test tonight and post it, i meant to do this i just completely forgot. but you should definitely look into these, they sound incredible. the whole component set is great and sounds amazing. i'm planning on putting a set of coaxials in the rear doors so i will i have that video up soon and will also show a preview of the woofer for this component set which i didn't do on this video. please leave a like and get subscribed to get the review and unboxings for the rest of the setup. thanks
lol pretty cool that you took the time to write back :) thanks. Looking forward to it!
cool any idea what coaxials you had in mind? I've been looking at the jbl gx602 for myself. Budget friendly.
absolutely!! it's my job to try and help that's why i make these videos. i will definitely get a sound test video up soon. stay tuned
+Erick Umana absolutely no problem ! Glad I could help , and I think I’m going with the same set of jbls, just coaxial not sure of the model and I’m happy with these components so far
i have the same set of jbls, but when i installed the tweeters on my 2008 silverado i had to cut the screw part on the back off
I don’t remember having to take any screw off but I hope that worked for you. Been a while since I had that truck but I miss that system
@@ManuelMoctezuma it’s the screw thing on the casing
I have the 2007 classic silverado. It would be great to hear from u on how the sound stage is with th tweeters bouncing off the windshield. I don't have tweeter mounts on my a pillars but I could mod that real quick and put my infinity tn 11 tweeters there but is it worth it?
I can say I am absolutely pleased with the sound! The tweeters actually sound better bouncing off the window imo it doesn’t direct the sound straight at you rather disperses it so it’s hard to tell where it’s coming from! And it broadens the sound stage. They aren’t too harsh at the -3db setting and I’m happy with this setting but that’s up to you. I did try them on +3db and they were way to bright but still had a good sound. I don’t have any distortion but you’d want to make sure you’re connected to an amp and have the gain set properly. I’ll be posting a sound clip as soon as I can get a quality mic. So subscribe if you want to watch that, and like the video if it helped. Thanks for watching
I’m disappointed. I plug them in and when I play music, they sound very scratchy. Is it possible they’re defective?
Possibly, what brand and model did you go with ?
@@ManuelMoctezuma they’re JBL Club 750t 3/4
I installed a ser of components from kicker and sounds like crap , I might put back stocks , sounds way better, know the reason why sounds so crappy?
183guti your stock speakers are paired so that they match the output of your stock stereo. So they get just enough power , after market speakers require more power and this usually comes from an amp. Assuming you still have the stock head unit , they may sound like crap because they’re just not getting the power they need. They also don’t require a lot of power but definitely more than a stock head unit. If you haven’t already I’d leave the kickers and add you a small 4 channel amp 50-80 watts per channel. See if that makes a difference
@@ManuelMoctezuma you re right , after speakers plan its the deck
I just got this same set on amazon for 60$ new. Appreciate you posting the video! A big help. I have the same series in the rear, non component of course. Just ordered their 12 inch sub too in the same series. Looking forward to the finished product and jammin! What box did you use?
+LMMProductions yes they are on sale right now at Best Buy for $40 I’m thinking about ordering a new set for the rears. I still haven’t installed the rear doors. But I think I will for Christmas. Thanks for watching and please consider subscribing I’m posting a sound test soon
- SPECMOC - will do buddy! I just subscribed. I’ll have to let you know how that jbl 12 sub works too. I got it on Black Friday for 29$. Still looking for a box to fit the same model truck. What box did you install? I’m def gunna need one
+LMMProductions I’m using a JL 10w1v3 in a single sealed box under my back seat its sounds damn good !! I’ve got an mb quart 80.4 one series amp for it and the these component speakers for now, but as soon as I get the rear speakers I’ll upgrade the amp stay tuned for the final install and sound demo thanks for subbing
- SPECMOC - awesome sauce! Appreciate you responding. I have a channel too and I always loose track replying sometimes. You sir are on top of it! Lol
No problem !! It’s not like I have thousands of subs lol but I try and get back to all my comments. Thanks for watching and subbing !!
What size tweeters?
These were included in the component set I installed. JBL 600C, I believe the diameter of the tweeter was roughly
2-1/4. Just google the model and it will show all the specs for this set. Hope this helps
I only used the wire the that goes to the speaker on the door
j mal36 that wire should be plenty , if you decide to use an amp. If your using an amp though you might want to run new wire to the crossover from the amp and run the speakers off of it. Remember the factory wiring for the front speaker and tweeter are ran in parallel and some where they’ve used a bass blocker so if you run the crossover from the factory wiring to the door speakers you might not get what your looking for.
these or the gto's
honestly i haven't used the GTO's but according to jbl one line is not any better than the other just have different specs. these have been good since i've bought them and only seem to be getting better as they break in..i'm selling this truck and am going to actually take them out and put in my new one they sound so good.. and all i'll have to do is add a pair coaxials in the back doors, throw in my 4 channle mb quart amp on them and mb quart 1000 watt on my JL audio w1v3 and i'm set.if you want quality i'd get any pair of jbl's matched with a good amp and you're set. i hope this helps.. like and subscribe. i'll be posting vids of how-to's on my new truck soon and reviews for coaxials.
SPECMOC thnx ur advice is super helpful im thinking of getting thesw or the gtos the gtos are a lil more expencive but theyre both on amazon. The gx's are theyre as well with the coaxils theyre the gtos idk... Right now i have mb quart discuss on doors and am not satisfied my car came (scion xd) came with pioneer system and they sounded better. I have a hifonics 4 channel 600.4. Componets 6 1/2 fronts and 6 1/2 coaxils rear. I have a scar 400 watt amp for 10 inch sub and a 10 inch scar shallow sub in ported box cars a hatchback.
SPECMOC also have a kenwood ddx395 excelon touchscreen.
Oscar Lozoya sounds like a pretty good setup! I also have looked at the gto line and might go that route too just don’t know yet I’ll have to make sure and find out what speaker size will fit the new Silverado I’m using and have only used mb quart amps for about 5 years now and I have been pretty please with them. What is it you’re not satisfied with?
Oscar Lozoya yes that will something I definitely will be doing on the new truck.. is putting in an aftermarket unit it.. i haven’t in my last few installs and i would definitely benefited from it.. so that will be the first thing i do.. how do you like the excelon?
That 7mm screw is pissing me off now I have to go buy a damn extension lol
LoCcdOutSS lol sorry to hear, i hope you get it figured out! I hope this helped leave a like and consider subscribing for more videos. Thanks for watching
Do they sell the tweeters by themself?
+Tony Palomar i don’t think they do unless you can find some on eBay that came from a component set, sometimes if the mains are blown or crossover is no good they’ll sell then speakers separately. Thanks for watching and please consider subscribing I’m planning on posting a sound demo soon
- SPECMOC - okay thanks and what about that usb charger do u have a link for it?
Bro my freaking tweeters won't slide into them dang slots😡😡😡😡
Dang sorry bro!! See if there’s another mount you can use
