The reason is that according to traditional Muslim beliefs prophets can't commit serious sins and they believe every man in the Bible is a prophet. There's not a single scrap of evidence to substantiate this claim, the only time "three years," is ever mentioned is in the commentaries which actually state that Isaac waited three years and then married her, so that would mean she wasn't even a year old when she went out with an earthen clay pot, watering camels and traveling the desert. That makes sense from reading the text (Gen 22-24), I had her in her mid 25s to up to 30. Because Isaac was at most in his teens (~15) when Abraham was told to sacrifice him. At that time Rebekah was at least 5-10 years old, since she was mentioned being a daughter of Bethuel shortly after the sacrifice. So being generous, to this point Isaac would be 15 while Rebekah was 5. Then, the following chapters fast-forward to Sarah’s death (+22 years- making Isaac 37 and Rebekah 27). 3+ years for the marriage and Isaac is 40 while Rebekah is 30. 25 isn’t far off assuming Isaac was a couple years older when he was sacrificed and Rebekah was a couple years younger when being informed about. Regardless the plain text of Genesis 22 shows Isaac to be quite young and not mature, and it doesn’t say Rebekah was just born either
I want to agree. But Nahor had his son Bethuel after Issac "sacrifice". Then had Rebecca. Gen 22:20. I was always told Isaac was in his late 30's early 40's and Rebecca was 14. (At that time it was considered an adult as boys became men at 13)

In Genesis chapter 22, Isaac was called a boy/lad/youth (na'ar in Hebrew Gen. 22:12) during the sacrifice when Rebekah was born. Gesenius' Hebrew-Chaldee Lexicon defines na'ar as up to the age of adolescence, or a young man of about twenty. So even taking the upper bound of 20 for Isaac would make Rebekah at least 20 also when Isaac was 40 and married her (Gen. 25:20). Isaac could have been younger though, for e.g. 15, which would make Rebekah 25 when they married.

I heard the teaching of Zakir Naik when he taught his audience about Rebecca being 3. "How old was Isaac, when his mother died? - 37. How old was he, when he married? - 40. Three years in between" - Then Naik goes on, that right after Sarah's death, Abraham was informed about Rebecca's birth. What Naik omits, that Abraham learned on the same occasion about the birth of his nephew Bethuel. Ok, are Rebecca and Bethuel of the same age? No. Bethuel is Rebecca's father... The news was reporting not about this very moment,but about the last years and decades, after the last time they saw him.
Actually you need to take into account several things: 1. Do not read the modern context into a historical context. So 'young woman' does not necessarily mean 21+. It could, but given the historical context, it probably wasn't. In many societies 21+ will be considered an old maid and the families will be worried that their daughter will NEVER get married. 2. It's recorded back then that females married at a typically younger age than now. Yes, even 12-13 although 13-15 was more typical. BUT... their husbands weren't too far off those ages as well. i.e. a 50 year old did not typically marry a 13 year old. 3. the term young 'woman' in Gen 24:16 is TECHNICALLY na'a'ra which ranges in meaning from a girl from infancy to adolescence. And the term 'maiden' is 'be'tu'la which means a virgin (in the technical sense). 4. So we need to get the sense of Rebekah as a young woman from the CONTEXT of the story: Gen 24:11 "He had the camels kneel down near the well outside the town; it was toward evening, the time the women go out to draw water." 5. No 3 year old child will be given this task, so Rebekah was a "na'a'ra" who was typically an adolescent at the very least which made her 13+.

She therefore could not be a - falsely alleged - three year old when Isaac married her, but older than that, because his mother was alive then (and till three years after that) when the left to go to Moriah. This alone closes the preposterous and completely unfounded notion that Isaac married Rebeca when she was three! But how old was he when he was taken to Moriah, is the question. As we said, he must be under 37, but the age is not given. We know however that He was 40 and she was likely more than 17 when they got married, we will see why. If what is implied is that Rebecca was born during that time of visiting Moriah, then Isaac married Rebecca when his mother died, something too ridiculous to accept, especially knowing that we are not told that Sarrah died when they went or returned from Moriah, but three years later! Among other reasons, Rebecca could not be three years old when she got married to Isaac, because: 1) Would Abraham send his servant to find a three year old for a wife for Isaac??? Gen 24:4-5 / But thou shalt go unto my country, and to my kindred, and take a WIFE unto my son Isaac. 5 And the servant said unto him, Peradventure the WOMAN will not BE WILLING to follow me unto this land: must I needs bring thy son again unto the land from whence thou camest? 2) If a three year old girl was on Abraham’s and the servant’s mind, why was the servant afraid that she might not “be willing” to follow him back to Isaac?? That makes sense from reading the text (Gen 22-24), I had her in her mid 25s to up to 30. Because Isaac was at most in his teens (~15) when Abraham was told to sacrifice him. At that time Rebekah was at least 5-10 years old, since she was mentioned being a daughter of Bethuel shortly after the sacrifice.
So being generous, to this point Isaac would be 15 while Rebekah was 5. Then, the following chapters fast-forward to Sarah’s death (+22 years- making Isaac 37 and Rebekah 27). 3+ years for the marriage and Isaac is 40 while Rebekah is 30.
25 isn’t far off assuming Isaac was a couple years older when he was sacrificed and Rebekah was a couple years younger when being informed about. Regardless the plain text of Genesis 22 shows Isaac to be quite young and not mature, and it doesn’t say Rebekah was just born either

If she was three, she would've been the greatest baby in human history. Passing all the signs the servants asked God for in gauging her suitability as a wife! God gave them very very very direct signs *(which they asked the Father for in a very troubling time for Isaac)* to carry her to marry Isaac.

I heard the teaching of Zakir Naik when he taught his audience about Rebecca being 3. "How old was Isaac, when his mother died? - 37. How old was he, when he married? - 40. Three years in between" - Then Naik goes on, that right after Sarah's death, Abraham was informed about Rebecca's birth. What Naik omits, that Abraham learned on the same occasion about the birth of his nephew Bethuel. Ok, are Rebecca and Bethuel of the same age? No. Bethuel is Rebecca's father... The news was reporting not about this very moment,but about the last years and decades, after the last time they saw him.

Actually you need to take into account several things:
1. Do not read the modern context into a historical context. So 'young woman' does not necessarily mean 21+. It could, but given the historical context, it probably wasn't. In many societies 21+ will be considered an old maid and the families will be worried that their daughter will NEVER get married.
2. It's recorded back then that females married at a typically younger age than now. Yes, even 12-13 although 13-15 was more typical. BUT... their husbands weren't too far off those ages as well. i.e. a 50 year old did not typically marry a 13 year old.
3. the term young 'woman' in Gen 24:16 is TECHNICALLY na'a'ra which ranges in meaning from a girl from infancy to adolescence. And the term 'maiden' is 'be'tu'la which means a virgin (in the technical sense).
4. So we need to get the sense of Rebekah as a young woman from the CONTEXT of the story: Gen 24:11 "He had the camels kneel down near the well outside the town; it was toward evening, the time the women go out to draw water."
5. No 3 year old child will be given this task, so Rebekah was a "na'a'ra" who was typically an adolescent at the very least which made her 13+.

Muslims get the age of Rebecca wrong, probably based on a suspicious misunderstanding these verses. We read (my comments in parenthesis):
Gen 22:19-24 / So Abraham returned (note, after not sacrificing Isaac)
unto his young men, and they rose up and went together to Beersheba; and Abraham dwelt at Beersheba. (Where they had left from.) 20 And IT CAME TO PASS AFTER these things (What things? These words, “it came to pass after these things,” seem to imply a big period of time.) that it was told Abraham, saying, Behold, Milcah, she hath also born children unto thy brother Nahor;
(So, Abraham is informed that his brother had children with his wife Milcah and they are named; nothing is said as to when they were born!)
21 Huz his firstborn, and Buz his brother, and Kemuel the father of Aram, 22 And Chesed, and Hazo, and Pildash, and Jidlaph, and Bethuel. 23 And Bethuel begat Rebekah: these eight Milcah did bear to Nahor, Abraham's brother. 24 And his concubine, whose name was Reumah, she bare also Tebah, and Gaham, and Thahash, and Maachah.
---So muslims would think that these verses somehow speak of Rebecca being born at that time, at that same period when Isaac was about to be sacrificed, but why?? That is not in this passage! It’s a totally absurd, blind claim!
But listen to this, even we entertain the misreading of Gen.22:19-20 by shamelessly and bluntly corrupt it as they do, the facts don’t add up and those are:
-Isaac born when Abraham was 100 and Sarrah was 90. (Abraham died when he was 175.)
-Sarrah died when she was 127.
-Sarrah was 90 when she had Isaac, and Isaac was therefore 37 when his mother died!
-He was married to Rebecca when he was 40, therefore 3 years after Sarrah’s death.
-So he then must have been YOUNGER THAN 37 when he went to Moriah and supposedly Rebecca was born! She therefore could not be a - falsely alleged - three year old when Isaac married her, but older than that, because his mother was alive then (and till three years after that) when the left to go to Moriah. This alone closes the preposterous and completely unfounded notion that Isaac married Rebeca when she was three! But how old was he when he was taken to Moriah, is the question.
As we said, he must be under 37, but the age is not given. We know however that He was 40 and she was likely more than 17 when they got married, we will see why.
If what is implied is that Rebecca was born during that time of visiting Moriah, then Isaac married Rebecca when his mother died, something too ridiculous to accept, especially knowing that we are not told that Sarrah died when they went or returned from Moriah, but three years later!
Among other reasons, Rebecca could not be three years old when she got married to Isaac, because:
1) Would Abraham send his servant to find a three year old for a wife for Isaac???
Gen 24:4-5 / But thou shalt go unto my country, and to my kindred, and take a WIFE unto my son Isaac. 5 And the servant said unto him, Peradventure the WOMAN will not BE WILLING to follow me unto this land: must I needs bring thy son again unto the land from whence thou camest?
2) If a three year old girl was on Abraham’s and the servant’s mind, why was the servant afraid that she might not “be willing” to follow him back to Isaac?? A child that young has nothing to say on such an issue and would not given an option; this means what it says, Rebecca would be a grown woman!
3) A three year old can not look after camels and people.
4) She could not reply:
Gen 24:57-59 / And they said, We will call the damsel, and enquire at her mouth. 58 And they called Rebekah, and said unto her, Wilt thou go with this man? And she said, I WILL GO.
---Would you ask a three year old anything like that? Could she reply like that, knowing she would have to leave her family? No three year old would do that!
5) Rebecca could not find a grown man attractive, neither speak of him the way she did, neither veil herself, if she was three years old:
Gen 24:63-65 / And Isaac went out to meditate in the field at the eventide: and he lifted up his eyes, and saw, and, behold, the camels were coming. 64 And Rebekah lifted up her eyes, and when she saw Isaac, she lighted off the camel. 65 For she had said unto the servant, What man is this that walketh in the field to meet us? And the servant had said, It is my master: therefore she took a vail, and covered herself.
So, why was this information placed there then? Because after Isaac staying alive, the next stage for him would be to get married. Abraham, and we, are secretly "hinted" there, as to who Isaac's wife would be.
Conclusions:
1) Gen.22:19-20 does not say that Rebecca was born at the time of their trip at Moriah, but it emphasizes, a) and it came to pass, b) after these things… therefore long after, that Abraham was informed of the family progress of his brother. How far after he was informed, we don’t know.
2) The passage says nothing about when Rebecca or the other children and grandchildren of Nahor (the brother of Abraham), were born.
3) Abraham refers to a “wife” and the servant refers to a woman “willing” to become the wife of Isaac. They and we know, that no three-year old can even contemplate such a proposal.
4) Her language, knowledge and behavior, are that of a mature virgin woman, not a three year old!!
5) The simple math makes it clear that Rebecca was at least more than three years old when she married Isaac, so even if we entertain the bizarre corruption of the text attempted, again the claim is found to be ridiculous.
