FYI, the Quran never used the expression "greatest of deceivers." It uses the Arabic word 'خير' (khayr), meaning 'good.' This emphasizes that Allah's deceiving/planning is purposefully good; leading those who choose goodness toward more of it-and likewise for those who choose otherwise. You could relate that with Aristotle’s Final Cause, where something is 'good' when it fulfills its true purpose.

It's very remarkable that that passage in Acts adds that *even* *if* *an* *angel* should come and profess a new doctrine which denies the crucifixion and resurrection it is the spirit of antichrist. Written 600 years before this actually happens, an angel claiming to be Gabriel approaches Mahomet when he is in that cave with the words 'recite'. We know also from the Book of Acts and Scripture in general that fallen angels still can appear as angels of light. The apocryphical (but ancient) Book of Adam and Eve, part of the canon of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church, describes a similar situation, where Adam and Eve are greeted by what appeared to be an angel of God, to tell them that they should rejoice as they had been forgiven and would be allowed back in Paradise. It was all a trick to shatter their confidence and bring them to despair (and iirc during their absence it robbed and ravaged their cave and the little belongings they had).

Nestorianism was arianism v1.5, while islam can be seen as arianism v2.0. Also even in France, around the 11th century "arièn" was still used as a general term for heretic. Just like in Dutch or German-speaking parts the term "ketter/Ketzer" (derived from the Cathars) is used as a general term for heretic up to this day.
Christians are Arians. They affirm two persons in Jesus with their positive affirmations about Jesus. A human soul means human personhood. Christians accepts that Jesus has a human soul. The Nestorians were very happy with the council of Chalcedon.
@@AlonzoHarris235 Christians are not Arians. Christians affirm Jesus has two natures; fully human and fully divine, and that these two natures are perfectly united in the one person of Jesus Christ. That is far from what Arianism asserts. Personhood is not just defined by a human soul. It's defined by individual existence and distinct relationship; to possess a unique center of consciousness and the ability to relate to one another as "I" and "You." An interesting work is the Panarion by Saint Epiphanius of Salamis, written in the 5th century, a compendium of all sorts of heresies known both in pre- and post-Christ times. Reading these many sects, where they came from and what they believed, you will easily see where Mohammed got much of his material from. Many of these sects were banished from (Byzantine) civilisation and found a home in the distant wild lands of Arabia. The Ebionites, for example, a judaising heresy, starting in the days of the Apostles by those that did not want to abandon the Mosaic Law regarding food, and later on picked up gnostic ideas, they settled along the Red Sea shoreline and lived there in Mohammed's time. Notions like that Christ was pure spirit and could not be crucified, but an illusion was crucified instead, some say a random innocent man, others a goat, while the real Christ watched and laughed, all come from the many gnostic sects that flourised during the 3rd and 4rd century. These sects (who had wildly differing ideas and also combatted each other) around that time wrote many false "gospels" in the name of Apostles or well known biblical figures, fraudulently, to spread their doctrines under the guise of orthodoxy, offering "secret knowledge" only for "the elect".(That is why when you hear ignorant people say things like there are over 80 gospels but the big bad catholic church destroyed them). Hence all why Mahomet is called the heresiarch of heresiarchs. Islam it's basically a syncrasy of errors, a sort of blend of all the predominant heresies of the first millenium.
@@alphabesen I gave you all the sources. There's an excellent recent translation into English of the Panarion available, in two volumes, by Frank Williams (Brill Publishers). First volume covers all the pre-Christian Jewish sects and heresies, second volume covers the time from Christ to the days of the writer in the mid 5th century AD. Since Mahomet emerged in the early 7th century AD, this makes the book an excellent guide, by a quasi-contemporary scholar, to give an image how all these different ideas came to be about.

@@AlonzoHarris235 by the way, this is purely a comment in the margin, a fun fact, but it underlines the messianic nature of the original Torah, the Old Testament: when you take the names of the antediluvian archfathers, from Adam to Noah, there are 10 including them, they are Hebrew names, and can be translated. In this line each, except for Seth who was born after Cain slew Abel and was banished, is the first son of the former: Adam (Man) ; Seth (appointed) ; Enosh (mortal) ; Kenan (sorrow) ; Mahalalel (Blessed God) ; Jared (they shall come down [from the heavens]) ; Enoch (teacher) ; Methuselah (his death shall bring [the Great Flood]) ; Lamech (despair) ; Noah (rest). These 10 antediluvian arch-fathers' names form a kind of message : "Man is appointed mortal sorrow. The Blessed God shall come down teaching. His death shall bring the despairing rest." Now as far as coincidence goes that is quite something imho. I once showed this to an orthodox hasidic Jew as to hear his opinion, but he became very angry with me for having shown this to him. And the funny fact is, when you translate the names of the line of Cain you see a similar message conveyed through the names. The fact that the faithful accept the Book of Genesis was written by Moses, but secular academic scholars put it at least in the 3-5 centuries BC period but likely older, that's still quite prophetic. It predicts the coming of Christ, who *is* God, His death and that this sacrifice will bring rest to the despairing, sorrowful state of man's soul.

I saw one video where a shepherd told - in explaining the parable - of the wheat painting into the picture the varying soil conditions of another parable, seeming quite obvious that the explanation was a muddled job. Jesus clearly spoke of wheat and tares! The reason we are seeing the spread of cancerous infections on the corpus of the Church in our time tells us much about negligence in care for the corpus. The thing about Islam is that in one sense it is a branch of Christianity and Judaism that has many roots in the respective harresies of Christianity back when many were arguing over the divinity of Christ. This would especially be the case after the crucifixion of Peter and the Apostles, and moreso after those who literally walked with the Savior in his earthly life.
Muhammad did debate Jewish rabbis, he got annihilated and became laughing stock for the jews after taking several days to answer each question they gave and answering them incorrectly. But then he stole all their shit and killed all of them
The only power Islam has is physical strength. Finite and fanatical followers who blindly follow it coz the hadiths encourage them to fight and makes it sound so holy. That’s why they come together in great numbers to mock and threaten whoever opposes them. I then understood Ephesians 6:12. Yes the sword is deadly but words cut far deeper and can affect the spiritual realm.
Islam is the ultimate truth! That’s its power. Submission to the almighty God alone not to the creation. Try to understand Islam rather than repeating hate speech and nonsense
It is somewhat unimportant who actually killed the Christ. Christ died to close the Mosaic Covenant and rose to open the new covenant foretold in Jeremiah 31:31-34.
8:03 I think it has more to do with Muhammad’s own reimagining of God. He portrays God as to grand to have personal relations with humans and is a father to no One. But he lacks knowledge of the trinity because he never mentions The Holy Spirit and Allah even asked Jesus if he claimed to be god along with Mary the virgin.
That's because trinity never existed at the beginning of Christianity. And when it came into being it was made up of God Jesus and Marry but later they added Holy Spirit instead of Marry
@ there is no evidence of such a cult ever existing. Paul mentioned the gifts from the Lord, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. But for the sake of argument: Who made up the Holy Spirit? And why?
@ Catholics pray to the father through Mary and other saints. She’s not “a deity besides God” she’s a highly regarded saint. It doesn’t say: “Did you make people pray to your mother?” She’s a human so people don’t pray to her because she’s not a deity. Prayer to Mary is intercession, it’s like asking a friend (ie Mary) to pray for you, but Mary is divine. Mary have never been considered a deity so the Quran is wrong (as usual).
"As long as you say Christ is the Word of God and Spirit, why do you accuse us of being associators? For the word and spirit is inseparable from that in which it naturally has its existence. Therefore, if the Word of God is in God, then it is obvious he is God. If however, He is outside of God, then according to you, God is without word and without spirit. Consequently, by avoiding the introduction of an associate with God, you have mutilated Him. It would be far better to say that He has an associate than to mutilate Him, as if you were dealing with a stone or a piece of wood or some other inanimate object. Thus you speak untruly when you call us associators; we retort by calling you mutilators of God." St. John of Damascus

No you're the one who doesn't understand shit if you think that Jesus's divinity and crucifixion weren't debated It was at the first council of nicaea that people decided if he was god or not and the final decision at the Council of Nicaea was made through deliberation, consensus-building, and ultimately a formal vote among the attending bishops And the crucifixion wasn't a universal belief Docetists: They believed Jesus only appeared to have a physical body and, by extension, to suffer and die on the cross. This view arises from the idea that the divine cannot suffer or experience death. The crucifixion was seen as an illusion or a symbolic event. Basilideans: They believed that Simon of Cyrene, who helped carry Jesus's cross according to the Gospels, was mistakenly crucified in Jesus's place while Jesus watched from a distance or ascended to heaven. So your God's divinity was voted on Still nowhere in the bible does jesus say I'm god and command people to worship him And even the bible is corrupted and the gospels are anonymous
@@sadlyimnoone2278 You also missed the fact there were several councils to fact check and confirm each previous council's findings such as the council of constantinople, council of chaicedon etc. So many times Christianity has been fact checked but Islam has not which is why Islam will not survive in the 21st century thanks to the Internet where people can freely check information.

Then, the claim is that the Bible is corrupted! 🙄 Further, many versions of The Quran existed. However, they were destroyed and rendered not authentic. Thus, The Quran has problems with authorship.
Not one of the many different versions of the quran state that the Bible is corrupted. That is another islamic fairy tale told to Muslims to keep them away from the Bible.
Also supposedly the Quran is perfect in its language, that there are even words that are still not understood and only God knows. And yet in the Quran there are obvious loan words, such as 'Injil', which is obviously the arabized word of 'Euangelion', the Gospel, the Good News (eu-, 'good', and '-angelion', 'news). "who believe in 3 Gods" tells me you never looked into Christianity. St. John of Damascus used the analogy of the sun to illustrate the Trinity. The sun itself as the source represents the Father, the ray represents the Son that proceeds from the Father but fully united and NOT separated, and the light emanating from the sun represents the Holy Spirit who proceeds from the Father and the Son. All of the three serve different roles but are OF THE SAME ESSENCE. In that case, there is still a singular sun. Admittedly, it's not an easy concept, but its complexity does not undermine its reality, rather, it enhances it. Such complexity is incidental to God's attributes of infinity and eternality.
@ it just doesn’t make sense, if I’m worshipping the sun I’m not gonna pray to its ray or its light I’ll just pray to the sun. And I think this example doesn’t fit with God. Also there’s this triangle thing that explains trinity it goes like God is water, father is liquid son is ice and spirit is water vapour. It doesn’t match the sun analogy, cus there the Sun was the father and it’s the source of light and ray but here the father is liquid and it’s not the source. so you have to give up on one of these. the more you try to explain trinity the more complicated it gets. I’m sorry for you you have to explain who’s your God, I think Jesus should have taught you an analogy that makes sense, but even Jesus didn’t claim he was god. Before John and his friends claimed him.
@@alialhamad9539 The whole point of the sun and water analogies is to illustrate that the Trinity does not pose as 3 gods, but 3 persons in 1 essence - God. Illustrations do not have to match in every respect because they are merely illustrations clarifying the doctrine, NOT doctrines themselves. Moreover, Jesus asserted His divinity in the Scriptures. The disciples did not make false claims about it, they affirmed it. If they made false claims then how can you reconcile this with their later life? They were persecuted severely for the sake of the gospel that Jesus brought. Why would you be willing to suffer for something that is untrue? If they were lying, then they're ridiculous. Isn't the point of lying to gain selfish advantage? Yet they got imprisoned, and some were martyred. It's important also to note that Jesus did not merely assert that He is God. He demonstrated it through miraculous works - healed the sick, raised the dead, calmed the storm, multiplied food, walked on water, turned water into wine, and resurrected from death.
The fact that you need to learn Arabic to understand the Koran better because the English translation isn't 100% accurate proves islam is false. Why would God make it so difficult for humans to understand his will.
"Why would God make it so difficult for humans to understand his will." Obviously it is because men wrote the bible and Quran. God never dictated his words. men assumed what god would want and described that in their own words.

The fact that People couldn’t understand the father the son and spirit, so they attempt to reduce God to Oneness claiming that he’s “not capable of having a son The lord is LIMITLESS, man can never reduce the power of GOD We can never understand God fully no matter how we try, the fact that the Quran is so “simple” compared to the Bible just shows where the truth The true eternal word of God wouldn’t be that simple for man to understand, because we are nothing but the lord’s creation

@@IsaiahINRI We know him a the Father of lies, although Muslims call him Allah.

Those who deny the crucifixion and the resurrection are not from God.

An interesting work is the Panarion by Saint Epiphanius of Salamis, written in the 5th century, a compendium of all sorts of heresies known both in pre- and post-Christ times.
Any proof for that?
You believe in three gods.
It’s great that you admit that people were forced into triniterianism.
@@AlonzoHarris235 that's just a cheap ad hominem attack by an angry muslim, and hence not worth a reply, my apologies. I just want to add, that muslims seem in their arguments always ready to put human-like limits and constraints to the abilities of God, the Creator.

The Lord told us the Parable of the Wheat and the Tares - over 2000 years ago.
He also told us about people - "they have eyes but they see not; they have ears but they hear not, for their hearts have grown coarse...."
Why wheat and tares? I saw one video where a shepherd told - in explaining the parable - of the wheat painting into the picture the varying soil conditions of another parable, seeming quite obvious that the explanation was a muddled job. Jesus clearly spoke of wheat and tares!

With these informational videos, I take more and different arguments against islam into consideration that I have not heard before.
God was so kind even to muhammad that God didn't let him meet or debate a Church Father

Turks saved Islam and stopped world conquer by chistrian
The problem here is that when John of Damascus wrote this book, the Muhammad of the Islam had already died according to the Quran.
And why?
Catholic and orthodox pray to mary. We know that very well. And also quran mention holy spirit and trinity.
@@AhmedWaheed-pl3gt these are prayers for intercession to the saints, not prayers to a deity.

Thus you speak untruly when you call us associators; we retort by calling you mutilators of God."
St. John of Damascus
The word of god means that god said be and it was, that it same for Adam simply god said be an he was...yet you don't worship Adam even tho he didn't even have a mother.

Islam was a return to the Arian heresy. All early mosques face Petra, not Mecca, and the description of the city matches Petra, not Mecca which has ZERO significant archaeological finds as there was nothing there until much later.
Islam is what happens when Arianism, Gnosticism, Arab paganism, and the Talmud had an orgy and somehow produced a baby.
I truly believe St. John of DaMascus polemics against islam is the one of the main reasons for the islamic hadith and tafsir tradition.
They weren’t known as Islam until after the ninth century. As a matter of fact, the Quran at this time was just a bunch of separate books. John Damascus in one of his writings, the book of the cow, which is one of the books in the Quran. So the Quran was not a whole book at the time of John Damascus.

Islam is by far one of the most confusing religions that people believe in. Most confusing religion? With 2 billions adherents? Never been out of your mom's basement eh?
No you're the one who doesn't understand shit if you think that Jesus's divinity and crucifixion weren't debated
It was at the first council of nicaea that people decided if he was god or not and the final decision at the Council of Nicaea was made through deliberation, consensus-building, and ultimately a formal vote among the attending bishops
And the crucifixion wasn't a universal belief
Docetists:
They believed Jesus only appeared to have a physical body and, by extension, to suffer and die on the cross. This view arises from the idea that the divine cannot suffer or experience death.
The crucifixion was seen as an illusion or a symbolic event.
Basilideans:
They believed that Simon of Cyrene, who helped carry Jesus's cross according to the Gospels, was mistakenly crucified in Jesus's place while Jesus watched from a distance or ascended to heaven.
So your God's divinity was voted on
Still nowhere in the bible does jesus say I'm god and command people to worship him
And even the bible is corrupted and the gospels are anonymous
@@sadlyimnoone2278 You also missed the fact there were several councils to fact check and confirm each previous council's findings such as the council of constantinople, council of chaicedon etc. So many times Christianity has been fact checked but Islam has not which is why Islam will not survive in the 21st century thanks to the Internet where people can freely check information.

Related. Authorship. Some Apostles wrote letters and books 📚. They are witnesses to Jesus. Others are 1 proteges who know these witnesses. As in chemistry ⚗, they are 1 degree of separation. Thus, the authorship is consistent and close to eyewitness accounts.
Meanwhile, The Quran was written centuries after the Ascension of Jesus.

Also the Angel 'Jibril', adopted from the original Hebrew 'Gabriel', a combination of 'Gabar' and 'El', but 'Jibril' as a name is a single word in Arabic.
@JohnR.T.B. Every language has loan words. Words evolve with time. For example "hades" in the new testament is not the Hades, greek god of underworld. It means hell.

You are going straight to hell for blaspheming against The Holy Trinity!!!!
Islam just makes more sense than us worshipping a man who was a worshipper himself.
