I know this is a moot point, but my brain has a difficult time registering darker blues indicate shallower waters on the Avionics maps. Doesn't that seem opposite of what you've always learned? Even in actuality, deeper waters are darker. Great videos though! Thanks for explaining.

Love all the detailed analysis- wondering if someone (me!) could send you a topo map of a local reservoir we fish regularly for you to review and markup to identify best bass spots, bass highways, etc?? It's a little confusing to me looking at your map. Maybe it's just me, but I always associate deep water with the color dark blue, and lighter blues or white being shallow water. It seems more natural. Remember the saying... "the deep blue sea".

How do you go about finding the lake levels on the day you're going fishing to have the most accurate depths at that time, meaning a large reservoir generating electricity can be pulling water, and in certain areas of the country the Power companies will drop the lake level for months during rainy months.

You do a fantastic job with these instructional videos! Thank you for that! One thing I haven't found is something breaking down rock quarries, specifically rick quarries that are 60+ feet deep on average with with only a couple flats that are very tight to the shore and rock walls that drop straight off immediately to 25+ feet.
Great Video thanks for creating this... I do have a question. Can you have a "swing" on a lake that doesn't have a creek running through it? I'm looking at some lake maps where there is that transition from sharp deep to more spread out, will that work the same?

Great video! Wondering if very small ditches running up and into the sides of flat points at 90 degrees are productive. I just found a ton of those on old google earth images on Lake Shasta in Nor California.

I wish you would have oriented your maps the same when showing topo to satillite, its nice to actually see the same spot.

Can you explain two contour numbers next to each other? My navionics map has an 8 next to an 8 then a 9 and 1 looks like the same depth.
