Can you clearly mark what is the best summer structure and what is cold water structure. Then mark in order what structure for the season we would detail map first. I feel really dumb but I am confused. The bar in the center of map and on the inside of the channel that has a hump on right side and smaller bar on left side. Did you say that big flat would need to be detail mapped to locate breaklines in summer? It is not marked except the wash.

So, looking at the words “steep” on the map, on the top right side there is an “A” for wash almost directly across the channel from the word steep. Are you saying the fish would come out of the channel and cross the relatively flat area to end up in that wash, or would they move shallower on up that 30’ breakline upstream where it hooks in close and move down the breakline to the wash?
Yes, that is Shelbyville in Illinois.(near point 3) Most of the maps used in Buck's home study course are lakes from Wisconsin and a few from Illinois. When Buck discusses how valuable a map is that only shows the channel, that is a map of Crab Orchard lake.
