Overnight Adventure in a Rock Cathedral

- I looked for an overnight shelter while hiking towering rock formations in the Mojave Desert of Southern California, USA. These rocks echoed the grandeur of Gothic cathedrals, built in Europe between the 12th and 16th centuries. Just as those structures were designed as sanctuaries, where heaven met earth and humanity reached for the divine, so to these natural cathedrals hold a sense of sacred communion.
The ideal shelter would provide protection from the elements, be large enough to sleep on a sandy floor, offer a good view of the sky, and not already be occupied by creatures such as mountain lions, rodents, snakes and other vermin.

Wow you weren't kidding. What an amazing place.. yes I'd love to see it in person... interesting cook kit you're using. I don't think I've seen that setup before. I like it ...I do believe the crow was really watching out for you. Until the next one. Piece
Thanks Bob. You would love exploring it with me. I’ve been using this cook for about eight years. Very simple and excellent for backpacking ultra light . This is the first time to use it in California… during the dry season all fires are illegal…. Now the ground is wet and there is low fire danger, it was a good time to use it. It only took 2 minutes to boil water.
Your videos are inspirational and awesome.
Thank you Sol. Much appreciated. Your comments mean a lot to me.
Wow , what a great place and video . Very nice editing , Ken ...
Glad you enjoyed it
And I did , muchly ! @@KennethKramm
You find the coolest spots bro. I never had a chance to hit the Mojave, and I was there close by my whole life. Now I’m in the Houston area. Might do Sam Houston forest but these storms closed the roads.
Understand…. I remember many times storms closed the forest for months…while were trails were repaired.
I had just thought of you yesterday and here you are on my screen.. How've you been ?? all goin OK out there in the desert ???
The outside is always calling…. Thanks for watching and commenting…. ken
Fantastic camp ! The scenery and peace are awesome experience to have, pure nature as it is ! I can certainly feel it as I watched. Great video Ken ! I like the outfit you were wearing, curious what brand it is ? Love these type of videos you put out and hope to see more ! Thanks Ken and Peace be with You !!!
Thanks for watching and commenting. My shirt and pants are 5.11 Tactical; boots are Merrill Vibram, hat is an Australian Cowboy hat , which I purchased in Australia several years ago.
Are you still refilling your biofuel or do you only use sterno these days?
