    AmEx has plans to refresh ~40 of their cards. I can't wait to see what's in store for us. There is never a dull moment with credit cards.

    150k is a pretty bad offer… why not look for a 250k offer.

    I’m thinking about canceling this card. Will be curious about a refresh. The Dell credit has been pretty easy to use, but I feel like I could run out of things to get. Also like you, I don’t usually use the airline credit. I don’t like how the 35% bonus is only on the selected airline. Also, I don’t like how the 5x times flights is only in the portal. I like how it has the 1.5 multipliers but still I tend to use my blue business instead.

      Nooooo! It's so easy to use up the credit. I can now get $820 worth of credits now that I have tons of delta points. Not sure that I understand your booking in the portal comment. You will receive 5X on flights inside and out of the portal.

    I currently have the Amex blue business plus, I was targeted for the 120,000 MR points for the business platinum but I just can"t spend $15,000 in 3 months

    0:07 Its super easy to see why people leave the offer on the table, yes it is potentially easy to qualify side hustles as a business to acquire a business card, the problem is there is this stigma, that business cards are only supposed to be used for business spend, which stems from the fact the fine print says you
    "are REPRESENTING THAT ALL CARD(S) ISSUED ON THE ACCOUNT WILL ONLY BE USED FOR COMMERCIAL OR BUSINESS PURPOSES"
    which means unless ones side hustle has the expenses to cover that SUB already, they probably don't want to lie just to get the card just to get the points, so they leave the offer on the table

      What do you think Amex's position really is?

    • @kura_bot
      @kura_bot หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think Amex is aware of the aforementioned stigma, and as far as I can tell it isn't illegal to use a business card for personal spend, despite this they choose not to remove that line from their terms and conditions.
      suffice to say I believe they are factoring in its deterring effect when they design these promotions, similar to how a $15,000 in 3 month spend requirement has a deterring effect, they both exist imo to prevent just any and everyone from getting their business cards

    Definitely don’t settle for 150k. I got 250k last year and got a 2nd and 3rd at 190k. That being said, 150k is great and worth it too. Excited to see the changes to this card later this year

      Some folks do have expenses like taxes or education spend. For those launching a small business, this is real.
