Intp here. Currently thinking how useful it would be to have a intj jiminy cricket on my shoulder to keep me on track of my initial thoughts.

no one likes my rambling stream of conscious rambling. they think it means I dont know what I am talking about. they dismiss me. I might through meta physics or try to find a meaning behind an issue in a discussion, they dont like it. Actually I am thoughtful and know more than what it appears on the outside.

...and the taste in music...I love music, "what Kind of music" depends...often on my mood, but a lot on other spects too...but my Playlist look like a sampler list from "music throughout all of history and cultures" 🤣

I am INTJ. My brother is INTP. You got it right!
You nailed it on music. I listen to blues, light and hard rock, classical, British punk (Clash, Adam Ant and Bowie), Christian alternative, R&B, ska and some rap. My criteria is excellence and passion. Lately I've been listening to 20's and 30's pop as I like feeding my Ne and to understand the culture of the past helps see commonalities with the present. Ne is all about patterns and that informs Ti to have more applications.
Right? Every era and (almost) every genre produces excellent music as well as garbage.
When something sounds like the artist doesn’t believe what he is doing, i hate it.
Also when the patterns (rhythms, chords) are too simple, i hate it. (There are some exceptions where the simplicity of a song adds to its beauty)
@@Peacefrogg Any style infused with passion and precision can have meaning and relevance. Sadly, the only modern band with "must hear" music for me nowadays is Switchfoot. From seeing what they do outside of music they are probably Christian left which is a different place than I am, yet they sell a pure motive that moves me deeper than almost any band.

Used to believe I was an INTJ, but upon revisiting it, came to realize I lean much more toward INTP tendencies.
1. Roll with the punches (INTP)
2. Efficiency mainly, I only explore during my leisure time (INTJ)
3. Wide spanning interest (INTP)
4. Emotional outburst (INTP)
5. Goofy side (INTP)
6. Active change (INTJ)
7. Progressing thoughts most of the time, I want people to get to the point...but I do lose my train of thoughts sometimes especially when I'm just thinking with no specific purpose(INTJ)
So 4 for INTP and 3 for INTJ....is that 1 difference significant enough for me to conclude on my type? I'm still so confused, I like people to be straight to the point on most stuff and want to reach a conclusion yet for all other traits it seems to point to INTP.
Some personality types don't fit neatly into one or the other category. I'm a blend of INTP and INFP. Some characteristics hit the nail on the head, others don't seem to describe me too accurately. It could be the same for you.
Personally I think there are almost no 100% fitting types. For example, some of your own type could be a result of strategies you've developed due to environmental pressure, rather than being innate characteristics that describe your true modus operandi.

You can be only one type but the shadow functions of the INTP are the ENTJ so yes we can have traits of both and take the test of Cs jospeh it's very accurate :)
yup I'm INTP
I hate this. I still can't guess which I am since almost every example in my life can be turned ether way. It's those certain things that just break one or the other example. I still think I am an INTJ, or being I've grown from an INTP to an INTJ since some of my old behaviours fit a bit more for an INTP. But just slightly. I am much more focused on what I want and I based my whole uni experience for one branch of careers in mind (gaming industry). But my focus on a smaller level is shite, I procrastinate like it's my main con trait.
Still l when it comes to music, I will find something from almost every genre but still stick to a few bands at the time (currently it's Nightwish and Ghibli instrumentals, before it was AC/DC all day long).
But I know no one can be a perfect personality type, I just wonder how you can be on a fence of two that have 'key' differences. When 16personalities gave me INFJ I immediately knew somethings not sniffing right
INTP: various interests (too many), dislikes routine and schedules, disorganized, more broader perspective and in-depth knowledge on opinions and issues. INTJ: more focused on what they specialize, love schedules, a bit single-minded on their approach, values practical applications and logic over abstract concepts.
@@vagabond8385 You got it completely opposite of what an INTJ is, what you are thinking is ISTJ. INTJ makes schedules but in a fuzzy way it doesn't love them, single minded? Not at all, abstract concepts are much more interesting than the practical applications for INTJ.

Wouln't hurt to apply some common sense
Your best bet is too take a range of personality tests online, make sure to do a couple so you can build a overall picture.
Then deep dive into some TH-cam videos going through both INTP and ISTP personalities and try to get a better understanding of them, so you can make a more informed decision of which one you are.
My dad's an ISTP and I'm an INTP. We are usually on the same page thanks to the dominant Ti and inferior Fe. The main differences I recognized are 1) given that we have similar amount of knowledge, he tends to/is more capable of/ is faster in putting it into practice, 2) I'm more capable of recognizing connections and patterns and use them to broaden my perspective and knowledge.
