One strategy I use is to decide to do the best I can but within a certain time or with a certain deadline. That gives me space to aim for high quality work but also "permission" to not be perfect because I have a finite deadline. :-)

I'm definitely an INTP. The traits I most like are my problem solving abilities, and my creativity. The traits I dislike the most are feeling alone in groups, and my inability to give people emotional support (although I have developed more empathy as I've grown older). I wish I knew another INTP or two because then I might feel more understood and less alone.

As an INTP, I went from IT support hardware/software out of high school, to every facet of pest control from wildlife to tree diseases (because I was mostly alone while working and I found answers on my own as well), to 3d space CAD modeling which allows me the ability to look a problem, make the part / product better, and add my own creative touch. Wish me luck on the newest venture lol.

I have found that procrastinating on project A is best served by doing project B, and procrastinating on project B is best done by doing project A. Both get done eventually, and I look like a productivity genius. Mostly it's just procrastination put to "work" .

I think an INTP could excel as a consultant in nearly any field if it's of significant interest. Many of the trades or artisanal crafts may suit the manually inclined. Another good one I haven't heard suggested in lists like this are library science roles, which are useful in businesses fields as well as the educational sphere.

This could be titled "How To Fix The INTP". We may not want to be fixed. Why should a type be "fixed"? Are we deficient? Broken? Why is it that many types think an INTP must be changed, fixed or formed to a different mold? Other types are always telling us, or shunning us because we need to be more emotional, more huggy, more social, more more more.... There is nothing wrong with INTPs. It seems that being an introvert is tantamount to having a social disease (the sexually transmitted variety). Fix yourself. There must be some fine detail in your perfect type that can be tweaked. (And someone needs to give this narrator some coffee to wake him up.)

INTPs are like vinegar. Vinegar alone seems like it shouldn't exist. If every food were vinegar, food would suck. But the right hint of vinegar in your solidly based dish, and it makes everything better.

You need to raise your volume. Your accent is hard to understand, especially at low volume. The music added to the video mixes with the low sound and raises a need for subtitles. Too bad your subtitles are dark grey on a black background,.

Luke, why did you stop to film your videos? Advice and information from a mature INTP is very helpful for many of us. I've seen many INTP guys lose interest in TH-cam, but it's not about moneymaking, it's all about helping others. I'm in my late 40s and have struggled to integrate into the real world. Hundreds of ideas were started and abandoned, and so many years were wasted for nothing.

I'm intp and I'm actually very emotional, I just don't express my emotions very much because I'm afraid that people will consider me as clingy. I can't agree more with anything else you said, I'm ALWAYS late, I am scatter brained and passive aggressive. I hate conventional everyday routine as well and I hate it when people ignore solid facts. The only difference I have with the stereotypical intp is that I'm highly empathetic.

(If you're an INTP, you will appreciate this) Destructive mode: Dont start with the 3% fact - that is just half of what 100/16 averages to. We're less common - we're not really RARE. And you lack social skills might be genuine - but your monotone voice seems fake even to me - an INTP. On the positive note: Actually, I got nothing so far (this comment is a work in progress through the video). Sidenote: The cut at 5:53 with the lighing is really oblivious and annoying, I noticed it even when not looking at the screen directly. Cutting can surely be made more fluent - this one was a bad one. Overall, just the lighting changed - maybe think about that. Finally: You're trying to bring the InTP peronality to the world. That's a good thing - regardless of any criticism. Take your strides with this - seriously. Hello, other MBTI-Types, you dont get that last sentence. Anyway, good luck. But seriously, you got to work on your speaking skills - emphazising is the key to the world. More even in spoken language than written text.

I was gonna type up a long rebuttal, but what's the point? 😂 I'm kidding. Laziness is default mode. INTPs are likely going to have to show INTPs a system to get ourselves going. Right now gratitude is helping me greatly, but I'm not ready to explain this yet to someone who isn't in my field so we wait. (Edit: The first tip is a bit along these lines. Being grateful as if I already did it. Thinking about how good it will feel having done it. Being grateful I can do it, that I'm capable of figuring it out, or that I'm able to get help. Thankful that I'm being helpful and not a burden. Thankful I'm helping to strengthen myself.) Some people find pomodoro to be helpful. It's fine when you actually have the motivation, but it doesn't motivate me. As an INTP if you don't have a system for organization you're not organized. By that I mean you are going to go on one of your side quests. There's absolutely nothing you can do to stop it. You can avoid it for years, but it's going to happen. If you have a system you can immediately put everything back the way it was effortlessly, and pick back up exactly where you left off.

Tip #2: Don't catastrophize. I have to repeatedly remind myself that a task, such doing the dishes, won't actually be painful. It helps, but I'm still terrible with procrastinating. Still, I've made it to 70, through school and career, so there is that. I'm surprised how much procrastination can still be a problem when I literally have all day to to do pretty much whatever I want to do.

All of these describe me so well. When I was a teen-young adult I was an INTJ, into adulthood I've been an INTP-A for the last 4 years now. I've pondered countless ideals. Such as "If you don't have children, and generations have fought to pass on your genes, does that make you an evolutionary failure?" Or "How do we know we're not all the same consciousness spontaneously (because time is irrelevant, quantum theory proves a single atom can be in many places at once) living all lives until extinction?" Shrooms make you think. . .
