New Thargoid Supercruise SCO Prototype - How to use properly

How to use the new Thargoid hybrid frameshift drive's supercruise overcharge prototype for quick bursts of lightspeed.

I am using same AX-Corvette build for the test run without any additional fuel tanks.
The heat does take away chunks of health. My corvette can sustain the damage as it has around 8k~ armored rating. Please do not try this with smaller ships.
In the Odyssey versions, ships may be fitted with a specialized Frame Shift Drive (designated with "SCO" and only available as C-Class) that is able to be overcharged during supercruise, enabling acceleration to hundreds of times the speed of light in mere seconds. Overcharging quickly results in great fuel usage and severe heat buildup, and may require the use of either additional Fuel Tanks or Heatsink Launchers to keep stable for longer periods of time. Frame-Shift Drives capable of overcharging are unable to be boosted by Engineering.

Good to see someone actually using it and not boosting until their ship explodes! Note that there is no cooldown in the bottom right like in supercruise, but you can gauge the cooldown by looking at the warning triangle in the top right. Once it stops flashing, looks like you can boost again.

I get my speed up to about 10% of the distance (so 500c for 5,000 Ls) then shut it down, works beautifully. Anything over 5,000 Ls get some heat sinks ready

Don't forget about clean drives and low emission power plants to help mitigate the heat and reduce the amount of downtime suffered in SC

reason being it's better for you to run at 70% instead of 99% with lower heat

the default Boost key that you use while NOT in super cruise, which is usually the TAB key. Hope this helps

NPC's have had this tech since day one of ED. How else can an NPC go from a star an interdict me, when I've some 250,000 ls from the star before the NPC even interted the system. Or leave my destination and get to the star I had entered he system at when I'm almost 3/4 of the way to the destination.

Yes, with the caveat that you use Frontier's offer to convert your console CMDR to PC, which will also get you a free PC copy of the base game (which includes Horizons), and then using GeForce Now to play the game on your console in better resolutions and specs that you would otherwise. Or use a capably specced PC if you have that instead. It will copy most things but not all, check the Frontier support page for more details of what will and will not transfer.
