  • I’m just showing my bike because I had numerous people asking about the new Harley-Davidson Fused Handlebars, the size, height and quality of the bars themselves. I also go over a few small mods like the Whiplash Speed Co. Slipstream seat, LED running lights and blinkers, and the motorcycle accident with scratches/scuffs and dings. I will upload another video when I get those parts replaced and show the mods I do to my Harley-Davidson Street Bob FXBB.
    If you want to see that video down the road let me know and I will continue to make some videos. This is my 1st attempt of a video on TH-cam so just bare with me if it’s bad.
    I hope you enjoy the video and get some info for the Harley-Davidson Fused Handlebars for the Street Bob FXBB.
    Thanks for watching!

    I wanted to let people know that the width of the bars from middle grip to grip is 28”, this is the same as the reach from the middle of the seat.

      I was just about to ask this, thank you. Sharp looking bike, I will be looking at these in the future. Is the slip stream lower than the stock seat height?

    • @TaterGrabbinBass
      @TaterGrabbinBass  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@spittin_sparks it’s about the same, maybe slightly taller but not by much and I think it’s because the Whiplash seat has a better more quality density foam that’s used and the leather makes it a bit firmer, but it’s comfortable as hell and it changes the entire feel of the bike from that cheap, slippery stock seat. The stock seat is absolutely useless and if you ride on the freeway with the stock seat you’re not really riding the bike as much as you’re holding on for dear life and it can get a bit hairy at higher speeds.

      Thanks man! Appreciate it! I think I will be doing another video here in the next couple weeks after I get my bike fixed from it being backed into in a parking lot. I think I will end up doing a Stage 1, so new exhaust, air cleaner and tune and depending on how much cash I have left over I might try to squeeze a Stage 2 out of it with a few other smaller mods.
      But I’ll see what I can do with the riding part, I have an older GoPro so maybe I’ll try to get some riding content when that time comes!

    Got the same on my 2019 Fat Boy. I'm 5 foot 9. It looks very good. Looks and makes me feel badass. However it does not feel extremely relaxed in the stretched hands up high position I must say, but I can hold on longer than with the stock handlebar. The latter feels more relaxed strangely but makes my elbows and hands ache much sooner. Strangely the wind does not have any increased effect with the much higher bars, at least for me. The Fused feels and, as you showed, are much taller than the 13 inch Harley says on their website.

    Thanks for the vid, considering these bars for my bike. What's the width across from handlebar end to handlebar end? Does it feel wider or similar to stock mini apes?

    • @TaterGrabbinBass
      @TaterGrabbinBass  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      They’re the same width as the stock, they feel different because they’re significantly taller than stock and depending on where you like your bars will also make a difference on how they feel. I have pushed mine forward since that video because I did a tank lift so it gives it more of an old school bobber kind of look. I will be doing another video here soon going over what I’ve done to the bike, most are performance mods but I’ve done a few little cosmetic mods as well.
      The stock minis just feel and look cheap, they’re 1” compared to the 1.25” thickness of the fused, plus I have poly bushings so they feel a bit firmer compared to the cheap rubber bushings on the stock minis.

    • @TaterGrabbinBass
      @TaterGrabbinBass  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I got them for comfort, the mid controls for me cramped me up and made my hips hurt after a ride, forwards vs mids is a personal preference and there’s a lot of variables that go into switching them. Height, inseam, leg length, will you take the bike on long ride or is it a city cruiser/bar hopper. If you have the right seat it will make the bike handle like a new bike. After I put the Whiplash seat on it totally changed the handling of the bike because I can ride it harder without feeling like I’m going to slide off or hang on for dear life when you do 80 on the freeway. The seat makes a huge difference, the controls have more variables and either you like them or not. I love them, I’ll sell my mids because they’ll never go back on the bike as long as I have it.

      I got them on eBay, they’re a cheap cosmetic mod but it’s a bitch to put them on and your fingers WILL be sore after. 😂🤣
      I also wanted to see what the wheels looked like with fatter spokes because I will eventually get new wheels. But they look great and cover up dirty spokes because I’m too lazy to clean them.

      @@adminadmin9997 ya, I’ve seen that. That’s not my style and I’m not a fan of that bronze wheel. I like spoked wheels, fatty spokes or maybe a fat cast “spoked like” look. But if I wanted to put wheels from a Low Rider S then I would have most likely bought a Low Rider S. Also, you could just ask questions in 1 comment instead of 20 separate comments.
      All modifications to whatever bike you have will always be personal, I’ve had 8 bikes and everything I put on them or do to them is for me, the look I want to achieve and the performance I’m looking to get. I don’t need the fastest bike, the most flashy bike, it just has to look good to me and suit my needs me make me feel good when I walk away from it. That’s why I didn’t go with the Saddlemen step up, everyone has that seat plus for my size it just didn’t work out for me just like the forward controls and bars. I have long legs and arms those mini apes were ok but they weren’t nearly as comfortable as the ones I put on. I could have went even a little taller but I think anything taller would throw the lines off the bike for me. I’ll probably do a small tank lift so the tank flows with the seat, I’ll get a sissy bar because I’m taking a 3000-3500mi road trip and I need the bar, plus I’ll get some highway bars and rear passenger pegs so I can switch positions on long rides without cramping as much. Again, all personal preferences that meet my needs and serve a function/purpose what what I’m going to be using the bike for.

    Does your street Bob have ABS? Harley says these handlebars are only for ABS equipped bikes. Not sure why that’d be.

    • @TaterGrabbinBass
      @TaterGrabbinBass  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, my bike does NOT have ABS. There’s no reason for a handlebar swap to affect ABS because it has nothing to do with the ABS. The length of the clutch and brake cable need to be longer but nothing to do with the ABS system. ABS on a bike like this is pretty useless in my opinion, it’s more useful for sport bikes and heavier bikes with more power.

      @@TaterGrabbinBass yeah, I'll probably take a chance on the seat from Whiplash rather than the Saddlemen seat. Just that abrasion at those areas could damage a five hundred dollar seat, and the paint on a fourteen hundred dollar tank. But yeah the stock seat looks good, comfortable? So so. I've had worse but if you ride on the agresive side, your really tugging on the bars to stay planted. It's gotta go. I'm doing basic performance mods now and when those are done, it's new seat time. The stock seat looks great but the way I ride this bike, there will be an issue. The seat that came on my 94 Lowrider was great. Looked good and very comfortable. But they are obsolete and it's worn out. I'll have it reupholstered but my head's wrapped up in the new bike for now.

      Ya man, 2 maybe 3hr max. You personally could install your bars in 10hr or less, and usually Harley charges like $75-$100hr for installation and it gets pricey. But you could shop around and find a shop that will be honest and reasonably priced, and it’s best to find a good honest shop that you can start a good relationship with and be a loyal customer and if your buddies need work and send them to the shop it helps too and they start giving you some good benefits. What's the payment for something like this

    • @TaterGrabbinBass
      @TaterGrabbinBass  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on how much you put down, the more you put dow the cheaper your payments, also if you add stuff and extended warranties the price starts going up. I’ll likely be able to pay the bike off in about a year because I had sold my last bike and put most of it towards this one. So payments are always different as you know. I’m also going to be putting a Stage 2 on it in a few weeks along with a few other things so I’ll be making another video next month when I get everything on the bike.
