I have to give HD credit. Their factory paint jobs really look great and the bike looks like it was born with its new gas tank thanks to your craftsmanship. Well done sir ! Guaranteed that bike turns heads everywhere you take it. Nothing beats a basic black Harley. On a side note I picked up one of those outboard motor squeeze bulb pumps like you are using. Some of the best money I've ever spent. Transfer gas and never lose a drop. And they last forever. Thanks and best wishes to you and Penny. ❤👍👍
Hi Rick, good purchase, you're right it's so easy to transfer fuel without the mess! Glad you approve of the paint, it was a lot of work, but wanted to achieve that factory finish with just a little bit of a custom twist! Have a great week there, ride safe! D&Px
Hello from France! Nice result, which gives the Softail a H-D classic line, at the same time, a better autonomy! The only fault is the electronically adjusted gauge which does not take into account the real capacity of the tank! It will continue to function as if it were still measuring the original tank, which requires mentally calculating the remaining autonomy, when it has lit the reserve light!
Not true my friend, the tank (when fitted with the CORRECT pump), communicates with the gauge to give exact fuel range and reserve range... many try to use their old pump where it does, indeed, give you not only a shorter range, but without the left hand syphon tube (which the small tank doesn't have), you'll not access the fuel from the lower left hand side of the tank..... my gauge reads 210 miles range when I fill it up and at 50 miles reserve, I get just over that before it runs out.... you MUST invest in the correct fuel pump for the tank.... many don't because it's over £500!!
Delboy came through again ~ that is how it’s done! 👍 It always sort of drives me crazy when I see people putting the foam layer on and then starting, right away, agitating the old grime and dirt and scratching everything in the process. Thanks for your kind words mate, glad you enjoy the videos, and yes this is definitely a significant upgrade and makes the StreetBob look like a 'proper' Harley!
Looks like you need a stone guard on that oil cooler to reduce the chance of punching a hole in it from the rocks picked up from the tyre. I just installed one on mine which I purchased from emery accessories. I also installed behind the guard some metal flyscreen mesh to stop any smaller rocks getting caught down the bottom and rubbing through into the oil cooler. Works a treat. Keep up the good work.
Hi Delboy, beautiful job. The new tank looks like the old streetbob. What a huge difference in the appearance of the bike and just the right amount of flake. Best regards, Frank from Florida.

I have to say Del, I'm feeling that you have just that little bit more love for those harleys than for your other bikes, am I wrong?
I wouldn't say that, I do love Harleys can't lie, but I'm rather fond of my Hayabusa and my ZX750 streetfighter as well!

After watching your vids i'm starting to get the appeal. Maybe if i just got one, just to try them out of course, lol.
@@Moonfleet41 Whatever happened to that Gl1500 you featured a few years ago?
@@lafincow12 Happy with it's new owner!
What year and model is that tank I’m looking to do the conversion myself.
Does this not screw around with your miles till empty I have the large tank on my 21 fat boy and have the fuel range on mine I would imagine going to a larger tank would stuff them numbers around ???
Not at all, it's working fine so far, I used the correct pump for the tank so the float is calibrated for that volume... when I fill it right up, it registers about 190 and it descends down in line with the miles I'm doing... I believe there is a problem though in the way you say if you use the old, original small tank pump because it's float is calibrated for the smaller volume...
Beautiful result.
Congrats.
Thank you!
Outstanding job sir. Love the look and the bike.
Thank you kindly
Looking to do this on 2023 fxbbs
Looks great!
Thank you Harold, glad you approve!
Lovely. Makes me want to change up 😀
miss a bit
Never understood why Harley put those daft little tanks on their big vee twins ?
Totally agreed, the 48 was even more daft, I think that name was literally it's tank range lol
