I have to give HD credit. Their factory paint jobs really look great and the bike looks like it was born with its new gas tank thanks to your craftsmanship. Well done sir ! Guaranteed that bike turns heads everywhere you take it. Nothing beats a basic black Harley. On a side note I picked up one of those outboard motor squeeze bulb pumps like you are using. Some of the best money I've ever spent. Transfer gas and never lose a drop. And they last forever. Thanks and best wishes to you and Penny. ❤👍👍
Hi Rick, good purchase, you're right it's so easy to transfer fuel without the mess! Glad you approve of the paint, it was a lot of work, but wanted to achieve that factory finish with just a little bit of a custom twist! Have a great week there, ride safe! D&Px
Delboy came through again ~ that is how it’s done! 👍
It always sort of drives me crazy when I see people putting the foam layer on and then starting, right away, agitating the old grime and dirt and scratching everything in the process. I do it the way you do it: Major layer of foam, and then you spray that off, and then a second foam layer and then and ONLY then do you start removing the dirt with brushes and microfiber cloths, sponges, etc.
from Southern California ~ Ride Forever! 🦅 🇺🇸
Thank you for your kind words, it's a pretty simple process right? And a great way to clean a bike quick without all the hours of detailing, just don't have time for that anymore! Ride safe there.
@@Moonfleet41 Indeed! 👍👍
Looks like you need a stone guard on that oil cooler to reduce the chance of punching a hole in it from the rocks picked up from the tyre. I just installed one on mine which I purchased from emery accessories. I also installed behind the guard some metal flyscreen mesh to stop any smaller rocks getting caught down the bottom and rubbing through into the oil cooler. Works a treat. Keep up the good work.
You wash the bike like karate kid with rwo brushes 😂, Harley looks better with the tank, looks amazing too. Great video
Thanks mate.. Soap on, Soap off aye..lol
@@Moonfleet41 😂😂 looks great
@@Moonfleet41not now Cato 😅
That multi-colored flake looks badass!!
Nice bit of craftsmanship Del, and you will always appreciate the upgrade when you ride~
Thank you for uour kind words, and yeah, the extended range is already better.
defiantly improves the look Del👍
Love that seat, it looks so comfy 🙂 Great job Del.
Was definitely wondering how a street Bob with a bigger tank would look. That is the main difference I don’t like about it, and was/is considering the Lowrider because it has a bigger tank.
Great video! Loved the editing. Has a nice relaxing quality to it. Feel like I could just watch you fix stuff all day and totally be at ease lol
Thanks for your kind words mate, glad you enjoy the videos, and yes this is definitely a significant upgrade and makes the StreetBob look like a 'proper' Harley!
Nice job! One issue left with my 2019 Street Bob is the range. Thanks for the inspiration!
Well worth the investment mate, 200 mile tank range now..!
Ah man Del, how did you not absolutely smile with pride when you put the tank on. 💯
I have to admit to a secret cheeky smirk when I stood back for the first time indeed!
Magnificent stuff… that paint job is amazing. Congrats… plus the opening sequence filling up the foamer on “that bench” bought back memories of the old garage makeover 😊
Thank you so much 😀, im really happy with it and it looks even better in the sunshine.
Realmente espetacular que capricho parabens.......
That looks awesome.
Bet the paint fleck will look stuning in the sun, Del 👍
That tank has come out SO nice! Can't wait to see it with the dress console on. The larger tank looks much better I think, more classic Harley
Hi Penny and Del - great work on the video! It certainly is a big project - looks great on the bike and I look forward to the final result with badges and that nice console you made. Take care, dear friends - be well and ride safe!
Thanks buddy, will do, reallu appreciate your kind support always.
No badgers were harmed in the making of this video as non were lurking in any nooks and cranies😅
Looks the biz Del!
Awesome video Del. It definitely looks better with the bigger tank and you will get some mileage benefits out of it. Thanks for sharing it with us.
Hope so mate.. reckoning on about 180 to 200 miles between stops.. much better on a long run aye !
Appreciated Dell! Best.
Thanks mate, glad you approve.
Becoming a beautiful bike. Love the setup. Doing awesome job and the videoing. That’s really kewl how tank goes on. Connections is really something.
Sure is, they make disconnecting the tank a simple and fuss free job now... long gone are the days of a messy hose on the petcock, and that dreaded link pipe under the frame between the two halves which always poured fuel everywhere! Have a great week and stay safe!
Likewise! Ride safe.
amazing del spot on camera work as usual
Thank you so much!
So good to see your videos!!!
Bike looks absolutely mean with that big tank on it
Thanks mate!
Hi Delboy, beautiful job. The new tank looks like the old streetbob. What a huge difference in the appearance of the bike and just the right amount of flake. Best regards, Frank from Florida.
Thanks Frank.. i wanted the flake to look really subtle, like a clear night sky, and only detectable in bright sun.. think i kinda got there..lol!
That came out beautifully Del. 👍✌️♥️
👌👍👍👍👍👍
Hi Del & Penny, hope all is well with you both. Excellent job mate, looks great with the bigger tank, they should come form the factory with them fitted . But that HD make no money, take care. Cheers.
Hi mate, whilst you're dead right, Harley do like to set their customers up to spend more money on those "essential accessories", but maybe not so much on this one.. There is no actual accessory tank available from the farkles catalogues, you have to buy one for a different bike, those that come with full size tanks like the Lowrider S and ST, the Softail Slim ect.. and they're bloody expensive too.. but no more than guys spend on exhausts and tuning every day right?. Take care mate, always good to hear from you.. Stay safe aye.. D&Px
On the button! Well done the pair of you. Looks grrrreat 👏🏻
Thanks so much mate! 😊
Very nice my friend. If I could figure how to send pictures I'd show you the tank on my street bob. Tank from a slim, cleaned up the ridge down the center, cut off console brackets and filled dummy cap slot. Had harley emblems ghosted in bronze.
Sounds great, I know that the Slim tank works also... you can always send the photos to delboysgarage@yahoo.com be nice to see it!
Back from ACT Croatia, last ride for my Transalp 600. Good to see your Tank installed, mate, I've got to catch up with your videos. Happy days, Günter/Nürnberg
Glad you had a good trip mate, time for feet up and watch videos lol Have a great week!
@@Moonfleet41 Thanks, you too. It's cleaning time for gear and Transalp.
Brilliant Del.. looks factory.. 😊❤ Harley should done this put the box 👍👍😍🚴🏻 Pete
멋져부러 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Nice video Del, take care yourself Sir.
Thank you, I will!
Awesome video brother!!!! Bike came out great ! 👍 great project , keep up the good work brother stay safe guys cheers from new York 🎉
Awesome paint job, that replacement tank really sets off the bike. Looks so much better with the bigger tank.
Thanks mate I think so too!
It looks the business Del. Hope you're getting some time to watch the Isle of Man TT.
Sadly not mate, I don't get time for TV, don't know where the hours go anymore, always playing catch up lol
Paint job is spot on - what`s happened to the middle bit you fabricated?
Probably in the bin I imagine.
Are you going to put decals on the tank or badges?
Are ya going to be putting any H-D decals on the tank or leaving it bare
No decals mate, I like it bare at the moment, may possibly fit a hard badge later!
Nice job again Del, it's a much better option having a 5 gallon tank. Parts are sometimes a bit more expensive than usual but the quality is always there. Enjoy the better weather & hi to PP 👍x
I suppose I’m spoiled with the 29L capacity of my ST1300 😅. Just wrapping up the valve check and steering bearings on the VFR1200, what a job. Like the look of the bigger tank on this bike for sure. Have a great week.
Once had a neighbour who owned the "GS1200 adventure tour" (or somthing), and it had a totally daft 52L tank that stretched right down to the cylinders.... he only filled it up once, and promtly dropped it right beside the pump...took three people to pick it up, lol... needless to say he never fully filled it again, i guess there is a limit.!!
Beautiful result.
Congrats.
Thank you!
Anyone know where he got the tank
WOW!! Amazing Job Del !!! looks incredible!!!....if you dont mind me asking , who makes that petrol gas can ? just what i'm looking for
Thanks mate.. much appreciated. Here is a link for the Jerry can, anf the smart nozzle :-

New tank looking great, del, Should be better on a longer run now.
Did you decide not to go with your centre console piece now or is that for a later video?
Great video Del and wise words. Can’t wait to see the console installed.
What tank is this? I want to put a 5 gallon tank on my street bob. I heard the softail slim tank works I just don’t like the 2 gas cap
This is a Lowrider S / ST tank !
Great mod Del - those peanut tanks HD seem to like these days don’t suit.
Nice old skool look - now that the TC is old skool! 😎
Yeah i agree, Street Bob, Fat Bob and Breakout too, they just look odd... but easily changed and a straight swap fit. (even if a little expensive).!
Enough range to make Sherwood this summer? Expensive job, but at least you've a ready made customer for the old one down the road at the Tank Museum! (Just tell 'em it's a CIA commemorative special made from Rommel's old helmets & they'll willingly SHELL out! : )xx
I like you're thinking brother, do I have to whistle Colonel Bogey while I'm doing that?!
They're tankers - all that clanging about means they're all mutton & won't 'ear it! : )
what brand of seat do you have on the bike
It's a Harley Davidson Badlander seat
Looks great!
Thank you Harold, glad you approve!
Del just remind me what was the five gallon tank off.It was made for the street bob.
No tank is made for the softail Street Bob, not this shape anyway... this one was for a Lowrider S or ST !
What year is this bike? I want to swap out my 2020 HD Breakout 3.5 gal to a 5 gal gas tank. Any suggestion?
This is a 2020 bike, i used a Lowrider S tank and pump. fits straight on.
This ideally should have been the tank size from the factory as this looks much better and is more practical. They reduced the tank size from the dyna streetbob into that puny tank which looks so disproportionate.
Totally agree mate.
Awesome del 👍 and i agree that size tank should be standard fitting from factory in my opinion. Great video as always 👏👏
Yes I agree totally David, i guess it's truly a case of form over function.. a 12 litre tank on a 1700cc bike it never going to be a happy state of affairs aye..!
Harley looks Awesome with its bigger tank and fantastic paint job ! well worth the the hard work mate 👍
Thanks Paul👍, glad you approve mate.
I completely agree with you about the look-bolder, classic. Vast improvement! And the increase in range is the clincher. Another beautifully executed mod. Jeepers I enjoy this channel. Great content, brilliantly photographed. Cheers!
Thank you so much Guy, that's very kind of you... and I completely agree, the extra range is a game changer... 200+ miles is a full day out with no stress!
Hello I heard you worked in an aprilia bike shop I did work experience in the early 2000s I wonder if you worked in the new Malden one?🙂👍
Nowhere near it mate..!
Hi Del, those engine bars look really strong, and neat too. Can you tell me where you got them please? Thanks.
Hi there, I got them second hand online, i think the guy got them from Motea !
@@Moonfleet41 Thanks very much for the info. Motea do have some that look very similar to yours, but the description says "Does not fit with forward foot controls" even though the photos show fwd controls?
I might give them a go, but can you tell me if you have any problems with your boots getting close to the bars when changing gear or braking? Cheers mate, appreciate your help. Rob 🙂
@@Lectric_Blue I read that too about the forward controls, and after some research i discovered the confusion... The Genuine HD bars come with similar warnings...but are worded "does not fit with EXTENDED forward controls".. Those are the ones that would foul against the bars... so i took a punt and bought them, and they fitted straight on, no problem... and no, you may find that your boots touch the bars slightly, but not so much they impede safe control ..!
@@Moonfleet41 Thanks very much Del. I thought it was probably confusion between Fwd & Extended and that it somehow got lost in translation from German to English? Thanks also for the feedback re boots and controls. Much appreciated mate. Rob
What is the Est range increase?
So far seems like about 30%
Outstanding job sir. Love the look and the bike.
Thank you kindly
Lovely. Makes me want to change up 😀
Where do I get this tank from
You would have to order it from the main dealer.
Does this not screw around with your miles till empty I have the large tank on my 21 fat boy and have the fuel range on mine I would imagine going to a larger tank would stuff them numbers around ???
Not at all, it's working fine so far, I used the correct pump for the tank so the float is calibrated for that volume... when I fill it right up, it registers about 190 and it descends down in line with the miles I'm doing... I believe there is a problem though in the way you say if you use the old, original small tank pump because it's float is calibrated for the smaller volume...
I have to say Del, I'm feeling that you have just that little bit more love for those harleys than for your other bikes, am I wrong?
I wouldn't say that, I do love Harleys can't lie, but I'm rather fond of my Hayabusa and my ZX750 streetfighter as well!
@@Moonfleet41
After watching your vids i'm starting to get the appeal. Maybe if i just got one, just to try them out of course, lol.
@@Moonfleet41 Whatever happened to that Gl1500 you featured a few years ago?
@@lafincow12 Happy with it's new owner!
miss a bit
Never understood why Harley put those daft little tanks on their big vee twins ?
Totally agreed, the 48 was even more daft, I think that name was literally it's tank range lol
@@Moonfleet41 🙃😶🙃
Veay nice , ist time i have ever liked the harley engine sound, a fantastic job well done, love yourwork all the best
Glad you like it, Vance & Hines always make the best sound!
