Thanks a lot for the pointers Brian! Just started labeling the sensors in the cabin so I can de-pin all the wires I will no longer be using in my FA5. This video could not have come at a better time! Going to use the factory ECU to run a few of the factory systems and make a jumper harness for my standalone. Have to get ready for the fc3 next. 100% function-able or bust.
Your wealth of knowledge is always appreciated. Came to listen to the last VTEC ACADEMY live while I was getting ready and ended up with a nice refresher course!

It should work. Both the automatic and manual use a countershaft speed sensor.

The basic pick set that was first shown you can find generally at any hardware store usually near the screwdrivers. The dental pick set oddly I've seen for sell at local gun shows as are repurposed as gun cleaning tools or could surely find on ebay or amazon. As for the Honda pick kit you could inquire about it at your local Honda dealer. I will say that the Honda kit is very expensive for what it is. I've been wanting to buy the kit for myself but so far have just made without it so far. As mentioned in the video if you have a Honda service manual it will tell you the tool part number for the specific job your doing for a single pick tool or there is the pick tool kit. Also in an older Vtec academy episode someone mentioned repurposing the wire from a used wiper blade just shaping the ends if you have patience and like to DIY make a pick tool out of that.

Great video. I had the reverse lockout connector wires pull out of the connector when I removed the tranny on my TSX because I forgot to unplug it! Is there somewhere I can buy replacement pins so I can reconnect the wires to the connector?

I have to try this i have a Throttle body connector lock tab that broke off. My options would be to replace entire harness. But thats to expensive and time consuming. So i rather go online and found the connector i need. And remove the connector plug using this method.
