    Great discussion! For me, the “huge weight” was the seriousness of the world. I perceived everything as such a BIG deal-how I performed at work, was I doing enough for my family, what do other people think, etc?” So it was getting rid of the weight of people-pleasing but also truly REALIZING that everything is NOT a big deal in the big scheme of things that made me feel lighter.

    For decades I tried to meditate but after about a month of 20 minute meditations, I began having kundalini energy move up my spine and "go off" in my chest. It would be like jointed by electricity and was very scary. Then each time I almost falling asleep it would go off again and again all night, so I couldn't sleep. I had to stop meditations.I would try again every few years but this would happen. Then I had an awakening experience 2 years ago and now I can meditate without the shocks. One time I also had. lights in my periphery and that lasted about 3 years. But now I love to meditate and do it everyday.

    I looove these conversations and I want to "wake up" really badly. I hope it will happen, I'll work on it. Or not work on it. I'm reading your book anyway. I want to go on a retreat too. I feel like I've mostly just got conceptual knowledge about awakening and the process, although I guess I can experience the fact that my awareness/me and thoughts are two different things (but also both part of the same whole of awareness ;)).
    Once or twice when listening to you I've felt this wave come over me for a few seconds, a sort of tugging at the back of my mind and I get goosebumps. That's about as "deep" an experience I've had so far 😅
    I'm tired of feeling out of place, searching, never at peace.

    I'm learning to deal with the "radical rationalism" part of ZDogg, when he then goes touchy-feely ANTI-rationalism or spiritualism...but it ain't easy. Aside from visual or auditory cues, what is "sensing sadness in others, and crying for strangers"...what's the rational science behind that (as opposed to mere imagination and projection). Seriously, "you feel everything everyone else is feeling" (17:05) what's the SCIENCE behind that? Or is it basically self-selection (e.g. those with emotional issues of X, Y, Z nature tend to go on these type of retreats, and thus it is expected they would have similar emotional experiences....sorta like people at a basketball camp would skew to the taller side of the bell curve)?! "Seeing the future"..."yeah it happens."!!!! (18:20) Feel free to prove that nonsense. Unless seeing the future is just "the Sun will come up tomorrow....I'll be happy/unhappy....I'm going to have a burger for dinner tomorrow." Call it what it is....imaginary projection and that's it...no basis in reality. If so, where are the peer-reviewed studies for such mental time travel....from REPUTABLE sources?!

    • @TheInfectous
      @TheInfectous 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Why don't you try meditating 15-30 minutes twice a day for a few months and actually investigate yourself whether there's any truth to it or anything more than you perceive as material existence. At worst what happens, you become happier, more focused along with a slew of other mental and physical benefits which we DO know meditation is responsible for?
      You won't find any science backing anything of this nature for a long time because scientifically because we have zero fucking clue what's going on with the body and mind, why would you expect a field which in relative terms is in pre-school to understand an extremely high level concept like consciousness.
      What should make you curious and want to explore is for as long as human history has been around spirituality has been the extreme dominant mode of existence, experiences so powerful that a huge portion of the population for again as long as we've been around has been telling others there is more to life than material stimuli. What "scientific consensus" has to say about it shouldn't impact your experience, it's great that we've been able to build things with science, but the reality is 99% of what we've "known to be true" has turned out to be incorrect or incomplete and refusing to explore areas of life simply because we haven't found a material mechanism for it's existence is kind of silly. The methods through which you begin your journey are scientifically proven to be massively beneficial to you, so why not do them?
      Also, I'm not gonna tell you everything is legit, just as doctors sold us cigarettes as health items 80 years ago, there are pieces of shit selling snake oil in every field in existence.

    • @ikiruyamamoto1050
      @ikiruyamamoto1050 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Why would you assume I don't meditate?! (You're wrong BTW). Science is a method and not a result. Indeed, science is what established that meditation does have positive mental and physical benefits...and not just a guess that it does. I was pointing out that the spiritualism is at tension with "radical rationalism" (i.e. what you can prove). While there have been many great spiritualists in history, the substantial majority of spiritualism has been fear base, and cultural conformity. A lot of folks say they "know things to be true" but it is mostly just BS, both in relation to material science and spirituality. ...which is why they can be wrong 99% of the time. Anyway, I was just pointing out the BS of the Jim Jones, obey your feelings, I can time travel nonsense they actually were talking about.

I appreciate the information in the video and the humour, but am not a fan of looking through these comments and noticing what you are doing making it clear that you are intentionally using your position, power, and reputation to attract women. Great series with Angelo, but seriously, be aware of your shadow side. Do some three characteristics (impermanence, suffering, no-self) into your conceptions of women. Thank you.

    I have a very controversial question that I will understand completely if you choose not to answer because of the backlash it could cause on your channel. When it comes to transgenders, the identity of male and female, is there more to it then just that? The fluidity of transgenders are they identifying with true self and the social norms of male, female are just constructs that the non enlighten mind are stuck in? I have this thought that either its a break through in expanding what we are or it's a break down of society into mental illness. The topic is so heated that to ask such things can make people explode in anger.
