After I maxed out "Nuclear Physicist" on my own build I forgot about using your fusion cores as bombs, so when I held down the grenade button and basically pooped a nuke I almost died

I know this is hella old but for anyone watching this now there is a lab coat in vault 101 in a dresser behind the overseers office.

It is not guaranteed but can sometimes spawn, it can also spawn in a locker near the vault door.

For this build you can get the repair bobblehead very early which gives you 10% reduction in core drain. It's above the factory the first quest for the minuet men gives you to clear out for a farm in the catwalks.

I was worried you weren't going to do backstories considering how much of a defined history the main character has, it's nice to see I was wrong.
It's not really that defined... The dude joins the military, and the wife goes to law school. Not too hard to create a backstory out of those two things lol.

Fallout New Vegas's story determines that you are definitely a courier.
Fallout 3's story determines that you are the son of a scientist living in a Vault for the majority of your life.
+Leon Dilkshake well I didn't bring up Fallout 3, and yes while you are always a courier and you started the incident at the divide at the start of New Vegas every other part of your past is up to the player to decide

If you have the Automation DLC & beat it you can craft an Eyebot Pod to search for fusion cores or any other type of ammo you'll need. The Pods can also find grenades, mines, & crafting materials in the Commonwealth that you might need or want.
I've got to say, this build is probably my favorite so far compaired with the others, they are great but this one fits my playstyle a lot more, albeit, different faction choices. love the videos guys!
I completed this build after about 6 days of game time and it is awesome. It continues to roll. I took some of the perks out of order based on need and had to delay one for a few turns while I worked on accessing a bobble head... Thanks for posting this, I've enjoyed it very much!

I love this build, I also enjoy how you give a backstory to the character.
Love it, thanks FM. I wanted more settlement elements in my gameplay so I tweaked the starting stats and some back story, by this was an awesome skeleton to go from.
this. one my first build I finished. and was one of my absolute favorites. it helped introduce me to fallout 4 so well. I finally picked up the game again, started a doomslayer based build, but once i'm done with that, i'm definitely going for this build again.
I'm trying to create a sort of evil genius set. High Charisma and High Intelligence to be incredibly manipulative and sadistic. It's supposed to be cold and calculating, but also vengeful.Think Sith Lord.
Id go with high crit and courser armor would look good

I inadvertently did that once by having my Charisma and Intelligence up to 9, I did 9 because I thought that if I had 10 then the intelligence bobble head would've been useless as I thought your SPECIAL stats could not be over leveled from 10. I've also been trying to build a characters Stats that I'm happy with and it's frustrating. I could recite the first hour of the game I've done it so many times. I just want to have a character that can level up quick but also be able to dole out damage and get awesome gear.
+Andrew I'm aslomaking this kind of build now, an I decided to go for melee + drugs(big leauges + chem resistant + chemist), this way you don't need to invest much in perks to deal ok damage. As you are always in armor, your defence and offence is at max all the time, and if you get into trouble you can just get high and slash everyone. Or intimidate. The plan is to side with the minutemen and build your own trading empire with all the settlements you have under your controll.

Headgear and glasses usually give perception because they are helping you see better. The hats/sunglasses block the sun.
The way you put this build together is beautiful. I got boatloads of exp just from the fire support quest
I like this build more than any of the others because with the fast leveling, in time you can just become whatever you want, you could be all of the other builds basically. The most powerful one in my opinion

Throwing the Tesla armor on for the torso and arms instead of the X0-1 works great for this. Nice aesthetic and There's a mod out there that lets you paint all types of power armor with the institute paint job! Not as much protection but you get more energy damage out of it! This is my favorite build that you have done! I'm currently at level 105 on this build :P
Don't forget that for an additional 10% fusion core life you can find the repair bobblehead pretty quickly as well. The first settlement Preston asks you to help sends you to the Corvega assembly plant, where you can find it up some stairs outside.
You know, I don't. like how most of these builds kind of depend on getting bobble heads early in the game, some of which are in distant areas. Consider the fact that the further you get from Sanctuary, the higher level enemies will be. I know this is only a builds but when, at least in this video, you say you need to have a bobble head in a high level area at level 10 it can be frustrating.
I completely agree with you. The Perception and SPECIAL Book are one thing, but the others can be a pain. Intelligence isn't too bad to get early. There's times I just ran in the library to get it, and then get the heck out of Dodge.
@@ethanstein7617 That's typically what I do. 99.9% of the time I play my own builds, and hardly ever in a rush for all the Bobbleheads.
A good example for this is having to go to Spectacle Island. The water around it is irradiated, and there are a ton of high-level mirelurks.
@@siemen3606 nah, Poseidon for Endurance bobble at level 16 was hell. The only reason I survived was because I gave up on fighting and spammed jet and stimpaks.

hmmm with idot savant having a random chance couldn't ya just save then turn each quest in repetitively until you got the xp boost for every quest -_-

+Magnus Bane Hahaaaa.... no you cannt, there seems to be a failsafe, if you quicksave and quickload to repeatedly take a speech check or to milk the Idiot Savant, it just doesnt hits, I did 100 runs for an easy speech check, and not one worked, 5 CHR, so bout 50% chance.
+FDVlogger there isnt a failsafe at least with speech checks, you just seemed to have bad luck, and 6 charisma seems to be the magic number for getting consistent results

Hey Scott and Michael first I just wanted to say I plan on making all your characters from your builds and try them out starting on level 1 and I'm starting from the very first to the very last except I'm trying to hammer out the kinks of your builds to suit my play style with them for instance I scraped getting idiot savant and put those points in strength endurance and agility but I appreciate you guys for making builds like this and I have favorited all you builds on fallout and skyrim so thank you

I'll likely be doing a video soon, but figured I'd give a quick review of a build of that's about 4.5 years old. Keeping in mind, this was made way before any DLC or Creation Club becoming a thing. I'll stick to it from a statistical point of view (SPECIAL Stats, Perks, Gear). This is a fun build, I won't lie. Now, I didn't exactly play this to the letter (as in, I didn't pick the perks in the exact order as shown, but roughly got the same perks). However, I did swap out the two ranks of Scrapper for two ranks of Gun Nut instead. The reason behind this decision is simply to optimize Final Judgement, as it requires those two ranks of Gun Nut to get the most damage out of it. You can do pretty decent damage without them, but I'm the kind of person who likes things optimal. I'll likely take Scrapper at Level 51 and 52, and then take Rifleman V at Level 53.
I have a huge Water Farm at Sanctuary, along with stuff to make Vegetable Starch so there's plenty of Adhesive as well. I basically make the starch, and then trade the rest of the water for either Shipments of Aluminum or other items I would need. I'm not saying Scrapper is a bad perk. It's actually fun to use as I've used it in the Mechanist Playthrough. It's just I didn't find all that useful at the time, and decided to hold it off.
Final Judgement is pretty much the only weapon I use, with the exception of using the Tesla Cannon from the Creation Club (which is a really fun weapon to use, especially for a build like this). As far as Gatling Lasers go, this is probably my favorite one next to Aeternus from Nuka World (which I'll give to a companion). Fully upgraded, this thing is a beast and literally kills anything even on Very Hard. I never really obtained it before, so it was nice to do something different. As far as SPECIAL Stats, I did go with what's recommended. Down the road, I can see myself maybe putting another point into Strength and then taking Strong Back. I wasn't too sure about having 6 Agility when you only needed 5 for Action Boy/Action Girl, but then realize the reason as I was playing this. Right now, I'm finishing up Chemist, the last rank of Medic, and the last rank of Nerd Rage.
I changed the perk order quite a bit. I did go with Idiot Savant first and then Night Person. After that, I went with Science, Armorer, and Nuclear Physicist (my usual main three with any Power Armor Build). I aimed to use the same perks, just got what I felt like was more useful to me at the time. Gear wise, I didn't really use Righteous Authority but got Old Faithful from Arturo instead and used it as my main weapon. I later on upgraded to the Tesla Rifle from Automatron, and gave it a Charging Shotgun barrel. I also used the Tesla T-60 Power Armor as well for a while until I got the X-01 at Level 28. I got the X-02 Power Armor from the Creation Club now, which has better stats. Gave it the same mods as well as a White Paint Job so I have 3 Intelligence wearing it as well.
Still finishing up the character, but I'm far enough into it to where I say this is a fun build to play. Yes, this is the first-ever FudgeMuppet Build and it was created before any DLCs and Add-Ons, but can still make this great. Or, you can play it as originally made using the exact gear. A couple of perks I would probably recommend after completing it would be Lockpick, Strong Back, Gun Nut, and Charisma Training. I'd recommend trying this build out. Sorry for the wall of text, but really wanted to get my thoughts here.

I appreciate the time and effort they put into crafting a background, but tbh, I don't use it as a basis for anything (I'll make a backstory of my own), so I skip those parts in build videos. Timestamps are nice in that regard.

Still kind of wish they just had of said "the male *is* a veteran, and the female *has* a doctorate". Allowing you a nice amount of leeway. The female simply has a college degree, and it could be in anything. The male may also have gone to collage, but military service simply overshadowed that. Pigeonholing them was a lot less awesome.

I don't mind that much, as it's not like it's really reflected in game. Only in the intro and in a few holotapes/the constitution quest does it really play a factor.
I keep a save from right after waking up that I just use over and over for new characters, so I don't have to go through the intro which may not fit my character.
The fact that Mister Fudge takes time to make these backstories is quite amazing. Well down Sir!

Idiot savant III is insane if you are in the glowing sea with a bunch of ferals and it triggers on 10 INT. I racked up at least 1000 easy XP.

Normally I go for charisma and lockpicking in games, but I decided to give this build a try. I'm 20 levels in and absolutely loving it! Definitely fun and challenging and a nice change of pace from what I usually play. Can't wait to try the Hunter or sniper...have yet to decide :p

Anyway to submit a build for you to flesh out? I've been messing around with one that kinda plays like a cop build. It focuses on the Intimidation perk to pacify hostile humans, and pistol, melee, and bash damage. Feel free to take the basic concept and apply it to a build, I'd love to see it more fleshed out and with a cool back story.

WeirdSchizo It was not it. had to google it to understand what you said btw. I have a GTX 750, but it runs fine on medium and even high. The cause was a blackout due to a storm in where I live.

I got my first X-01 armour in the glowing sea when I was level 23 with my sniper build that you guys made :)
Really like this build. Only issue i have found in my playthrough is that Lvl 17 - Chem Resist is unobtainable for me as i do not have enough points to get it. To increase by the one point required i would have to clear Poseidon Energy (bottom right of map) and at that level on survival it is not obtainable. Other than that a great build.

Endurance bobblehead is impossible to take at very hard or survival difficulty on lvl 17...

I'm using dismemberment mod while playing your guys brawler build and paladin build and it's fun to either cut of a leg of a deathclaw with bullets or destroy a raiders arm with a punch, hope you guys have good years ahead of you guys and keep doing what you're doing.
Over 8 years already. Time sure does fly. Miss these fallout 4 builds.
Work with the rail road in order to get the ballistic weave and the BOS to get their legendary gear and power armor pieces then once that is complete, betray them to the institute.

Dear fudge Muppet can you do an Iron Man build please. One where you're completely worthless without your power armor in combat. And can you also add the tech skills of Tony Stark as well

Zane Fierro Honestly the only reason I'm making a Character built on High Intelligence was cause I 'm just binge watching Rick and Morty and decide 'Fuck it, I'm gonna make a crazy scientist character like Rick in my 2nd Fallout 4 walkthrough for shits and grins, and while I can't make portal guns lol, but making Plasma and laser weapons feels like pure fun

Something to note about this build; you can't get liam's glasses if you do the railroad quest "Tradecraft" which tells you to clear out switchboard. Doing that quest will make you ineligible for the "plugging a leak quest", meaning it's impossible to get both ballistic weave and the glasses, which I found out about, much to my annoyance, when I tried to make a kind of militarized version of this build :P.

Very interesting build. I've been wanting to try a scientist build for awhile. FudgeMuppet, I suggest you do a revision considering the new dlc Automatron. The dlc has content that fits this character.
So you need the endurance bobble head for chem resistant, but at that point I have leveled up so fast because of the intelligence that I feel seriously underequipped to fight through poseidon energy. Wat do

Just did this at around level 17 or so. Saved up psychojet until here, got my hands on a combat shotgun and grenades... sprint by the mirelurks or use a buddy to open main doors... shoot up for the final battle and be prepared for epicness. This fight drained all my shotgun ammo I'd saved and when i emerged from the doors, i was addicted, and my suit only had the chest left i got from the polymer labs.. nearly broken. It wasn't an easy fight, i more than once had to frantically decorate a man's head with 3 mags of shells when he'd start to flank me.

Honestly, my favorite parts of these videos is the backgrounds you give the builds. They were just too darn interesting to skip for me. xD

build is awesome but gatling laser just gets really boring after a while
Just completed the institute storyline following this build. Great run through that allows you evolve your character and play style as the character adds more and more skills.
BUT - I never once got IS to proc on a quest turn in. I didn't reload before turning in, but I did night turn-ins with chem buffs. So that part of the build didn't pay off for me. I'd swap in lock picking over that. I'd probably also skip the chems part of it as I hate having to remember to drug up. But, that's just for personal preference, and with the completionist mindset.
Over all I really enjoyed the build and theme. It added a new element to the game play, and helped guide decisions.
fucking love this build. I've watched every skyrim build and most of your fallout builds but this is my favorite for Fallout. its nuts and very fun!

Here also after the Fallout show and to prep before the new update for Fallout 4 coming next week. Going to do this build I think. Never did a PA build when I played the game previously.
2:46 Yeah right, landing on a wooden bridge that seems very light with extremely heavy armor seems realistic. (Please don't get pissed off at me, video games don't have to be realistic by an stretch of the imagination)

realy, mine was Nuclear option (brotherhood) with 10 Intel
like, the first 4 quests i turned in it triggered on. I was at level ~16 after only an hour of game time.

HI! It's 2020, and I'd like you to know that the prediction of "Hundreds more" Fallout 4 builds fell absolutely FLAT! We are at the Memeable number of 69, and there hasn't been a build in TWO years =T I'm so disappointed

2 years later, still my go-to build. Never got bored of it.
Only difference is the use if a customized robot companion, liberal chem use and the use of a fully upgraded rocket launcher. Launch up, rain down 4 locked on rockets, land and go wild with the gatlibg laser
