    Tahoe vs Expedition. Which would you choose?

    • @bmhigginbotham

      Tahoe all the way. Big enough to be useful for when the whole fam is together. Small enough that I don't get frustrated in the city...mostly. Also, why did we start the vid by watching you adjust yourself?

      Tahoe still wins this vehicle segment for me. I really think the Tahoe drives so much better and I prefer the Tahoe styling.

      You can still get 9 seats in the Tahoe which you can’t do in the Expedition which is good because a front bench seat is cheaper than front bucket seats with a center console

      Tahoe.

    • @ZapFlashD
      @ZapFlashD 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The Tahoe is really impressive! However, I would probably skip on it and go for it's twin, the GMC Yukon. The exterior on that one was executed wonderfully and the interior is amazing. Even more so if you can afford the Denali grade. If I ever buy one of these behemoths. It has to be the long wheelbase versions.

    I have always loved the design of the Tahoe, but that 3.5 ecoboost is both powerful and efficient. I was able to achieve 24 mpg on the highway with the Expedition I rented. I am looking at the Tahoe and waiting for what Chevy will do with the revised 3.0 diesel.

    Tahoe over Expedition all day but I would also drive the updated Armada it looks nice as hell too

      Check the third row of that Armada, you might change your mind.

    • @robertkamanzi9147
      @robertkamanzi9147 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@profribasmat217 hahaha Mr know-it-all (or should I create a more appropriate name like cluemore). Take it easy. People offer opinions and feel free to disagree without resorting to name calling. Of course the Armada is an inferior product. The current Armada is the same Nissan Patrol that has been sold overseas for at least 9 years riding on a shorter wheelbase than the previous first generation Nissan Armada. Its chassis and power train are quite old compared to the two modern American counterparts. Having a 7 speed auto doesn’t help it’s abysmal fuel economy. The third row of this Armada is extremely cramped even though they made it much smaller for easy folding (the seat bottom and seat back are both very small, I remember seating in the third row at the auto show and the top of that seat was several inches below my shoulders and the bottom cushion was only barely inches from my butt and the knee-in-your-chin situation was accentuated by how much closer to the floor the seat bottom is). Compared to the two aforementioned competitors, this is a horrible setup, unlike the original Armada which had a very spacious 3rd row comparable to the Expedition and Sequoia.
      *See, that’s how it’s done, disagree with someone and offer a fact based opinion. We could all spend our days insulting each other and never get anywhere, in a civilized society things are done differently.

    • @robertkamanzi9147
      @robertkamanzi9147 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@profribasmat217 we are all entitled to an opinion, we argue with facts and at the end of the day either agree or agree to disagree. We all have the right to an objective or subjective opinion. There are people who will go head over heels when it comes to the Armada and they are entitled to their opinion. I personally wouldn’t be caught driving any Nissan product with a CVT or even their ancient powertrain. I respect the GTR or is it GT-R(?). Their cars do not resonate with me, despite selling millions of them worldwide. Every automaker does their research and makes certain compromises when designing a car, Nissan’s compromises don’t cut it with me and I am sure I was not their targeted customer base.

    • @PrizeJ
      @PrizeJ 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@robertkamanzi9147 As a guy from SEA(Philippines), who has spent a lot of time in the USA. I can with the utmost certainty say, I do prefer Japanese cars over American. Nissan, Toyota, Mitsubishi, Subaru, Honda, seem to have more of an upside than Ford, Chevy, Jeep, Dodge, Kia, etc. However. there are more American cars that are better for what they are meant to do.

    • @robertkamanzi9147
      @robertkamanzi9147 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@PrizeJ The last 4 cars I bought were Scion XB, Toyota RAV4, Prius V and 2018 Prius. And before that it was GMC Yukon and Pontiac Grand Prix. I love cars in general, some cars resonate better than others. I loved my Prius V and then went and got a current generation Prius to add to my stable, I wouldn’t trade any of my cars for anything else. So back to my original post, the Tahoe and the Expedition were recent refreshes and were almost completely reworked and opposed to the Armada which, for costs saving, was switched from the original Armada to the older and smaller Nissan Patrol/Infinity QX80 platform (not QX56 which was shared with the original Armada). So size wise, the Armada is smaller in all dimensions, including interior dimensions (seating for all 3 rows, cargo space behind 1st, 2nd and 3rd rows). It is a good looking full size SUV, but the underpinnings are less modern comparatively, same for the powertrain. I can’t fault them for not putting the effort in, they don’t sell as many. The full size GM trucks own over 60-70% of that market, Ford owns another big chunk, and Jeep Wagoneer coming in now, there won’t be much left for Armada and Sequoia (even the new ones have been made smaller, same formula Armada tried, albeit with hybrid powertrain). The jury is still out but I can say with certainty in any full size comparison the Armada will most likely come out last. They will still sell a ton to rental companies though. Full size SUV’s are big profit makers for GM/Ford and now Jeep, they invest a lot more in those. Compare a Camry to a Malibu, your statement makes a lot of sense, GM doesn’t spend much time and money updating sedans and smaller vehicles, because those don’t generate much in profits.

    Love the video. I hit the like button. Been waiting for this one. I think this is the first Chevy (since the bailout) that I'd consider buying, but due to my 3 kids, I'd probably go for the Suburban and get the 3.0L diesel. We have an Odyssey and dislike the road noise that comes in the cabin and want a vehicle that rides higher. ~~ Living in Texas, those who have stealth wealth drive a Suburban, Yukon Denali XL for show offs, and Escalde if you're gaudy rich or a rapper.

    I bought a 2021 Tahoe Z71 for my family and I can say it is a great vehicle. Don't get me wrong, these are pricey, but honestly worth it. One drawback I have noticed and discussed with other owners of the Z71 trim is that the fuel economy is affected. I average 15.0 mpg with around 70% highway miles. This is an awesome review. I am seeing more content around family usability of different vehicles and yours is great. I have subscribed and look forward to more reviews.

    The Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban, the GMC Yukon and Yukon XL, and the Cadillac Escalade account for 50% of all large SUV sales in the US. GM makes 340,000 of them every year and exports about 80,000 to 31 countries. They’re made in GM’s plant in Arlington, Texas, which is said to be the most profitable assembly plant in the world. We estimate they generate $20 billion in revenue for GM and about $4 billion in profits. Autoline Daily.

    I am not a fan of the driving assist. I drive a basic car that has nothing. 07 Ford Taurus Back in October we drove down to Florida and we took my cousins new Highlander and I did all the driving. I had to have her turn off all the driving assists I felt like I had no control over the vehicle at all. Maybe cause I am not used to all that technology. I do however understand why it is in the vehicles now. Now I will say though she did keep the brake assist on and that was a helpful feature. That Highlander was a nice comfortable ride for 17 hours. Thing did great driving up into the mountains and such.
