well, if the main boss is gated behind a difficult challenge many people wouldn't be able to finish the game
Nothing is hard in this game. Same with 2018. The OG GoW's are harder...hitting the ravens are harder than any of the bosses lol

And what's even funnier is that most berserkers strike faster than kratos can recover so the first hit is usually game over.
@Pelonio Honestly, it's like they're made to be aggressively frustrating. The anxiety I've been having dealing with when fighting them comes in spades, I've only been able to beat 3 after nearly or possibly more than 50 attempts hopping from one to another trying my hand with them.
You jus have to upgrade gear
These boss fights really pack a punch even on normal difficulties

gna and king each took me like 2 hour to beat. but valkyrie queen from 2018 game took me like 3 month to beat.
The queen from the 2018 game was just so op. Took me around the same time hahaha
The combat was more limited in 2018. That had something to do with it
@@rover5058 IMO it was a balance problem. Limited combat requires more limited health bar. Valkyrie queen was just too hard.

the sisters berserker is the only fight comparable with sigrun.
I’ve fought three so far and all I’ll say is that as much as you may want to be aggressive throughout the fight, you gotta stay patient and time those blocks, dodges and parries as well as you can. Don’t assume what the berserker is going to do. Even just waiting a small second to make sure you can identify which attack is coming is a game changer.
The best way to beat the 3 berserkers in alfheim is to ignore the one and focus on the two as they share a health bar. Once you clear them it’s an easier 1v1 battle.

It’s honestly all down to trial and error. Fight learn die rinse repeat…then win eventually. Also be aware of all the skills you have in your arsenal
There is no much need to repeat when you're playing an interactive movie.

It’s also worth mentioning that when you get King Hrolf’s health low enough he switches to covering himself with the bifrost status element for the remainder duration of the fight until he’s defeated.
Actually you can just keep throwing the axe or spear to get rid of the bifrost

Alot of them just feel like end game bosses so make sure you max out your weapon and armour upgrades at least. No point in doing a boss if your damage output is low.
Press L3 + R3 for Spartan Rage Quit.
Die a bunch of times,memorize every move they make then try beating them flawlessly😂

at least, we are prepared in fighting the king. Not so for Gna.
So many new move, so many guided projectile, so many area effect attack, and we have to remember all of that in a single fight
Can’t stress enough BELIEVE IN YOUR PARRIES, it’s by far the best way to build up the stun meter, I’d also recommend using the guardian shield as you get a better lock on with parrying projectiles
Also the “wrath” rage is the best option (with maxed out rage from blood horns) as it basically gives you 4 combo breakers & guaranteed hits
Not guaranteed tho, they teleport, you can miss them

Platinum this game and fight the king was an experience.
To interrupt the blue circle, the onlsaught shield is op. You are gonna run automatically to the berseker that’s if you feel that you are not gonna make it on time

Gná's fight was wayy harder than the King Berserker's if I'm being honest. He just had an insane amount of health while Gná had so many fast moves that looked EXACTLY alike one another but were either un-blockable or un-dodgeable.
For me Gna was easy but the King is very hard because your timing has to be perfect when parrying his attacks.
@@SK-ix8jb tbh for the King it’s just a 10 minute cycle of dodging for about 5-6 moves but at the same time staying close to him, and then attacking for like 5 hits. Most of my deaths were just from me being unlucky or him somehow attacking me through my runic attacks

Svipdagr and the sisters of illska are such a pain as you need to focus on three different enemies
The axe is crap against berserkers. Use blades of chaos, bash triangle to charge the blade then hit R2. For more than double damage, Make sure all your blades moves have been upgraded for increased burn. Wait for the right moment, use realm shift, activate immolation. You're welcome

@@royvan6224 there is definitely not a best weapon to use against these guys. The spear is SUPER fast, can steal elements and can be thrown like the axe to interrupt some of the berserkers’ attacks. The blades are super fast, close range, with the burn element doing significant damage if you build it up, great runic abilities, and lots of options to use when you want to close the distance safely. The axe while slow, deals considerable damage with a more passive element to assist you, and AMAZING runics to interrupt the berserkers (wrath of the frost ancient, breath of thamur, levaithan’s roar, etc.) Don’t even get me started on the awakening for each weapon’s no hit boost. Spear does EVEN more stun, the blades build burn on EACH attack, the axe gets a secondary hit that ALSO freezes the enemy, AND they all can stun the enemy at close range to allow you to attack. Sorry about the paragraph. *
*There’s just too many option to limit yourself to one weapon imo*

The only ones that were a problem were the ones that featured 2 or more berserker. Only Sigrun was more frustrating than those.
My problem with the berserkers that have multiple is that when you are attacking one you don't know when or how the other one will attack you. Because even though Atreus/Fraya are agroing it. It will attack you sometimes without much warning

Bro, the fight with the 3 Berserker sisters is the hardest one by far.
I’ve killed all beserkers with berserker stones an full bar just got to mystic gate way interact to heal then go back
This is actually one of the best guides and am after ng+..
Use the onslaught shield for these fights as Kratos will automatically run towards the enemy during the double blue ring attacks. He will even sometimes avoid the damage from those moves if you are close enough to them after they have completed the move and you're still charging at them.
Edit: For the poison berserker, use the spear on the nightmares. Detonating a lodged spear instantly removed them from the battlefield, making this fight significantly easier. Using the blades isn't as reliable as you can and most likely will take damage as you try to pull them in.

Got the platinum on gmgow difficulty, can confirm it was hell.. Gna was definitely harder though!

Guardian shield is the best way to deal with berserkers, the counter attack disrupts their follow attack unlike dauntless shields double l1.
Pair guardian with the dragon armor and the counter attacks deal more damage than your weapons.
the ones with multiple opponents are the worst. the one with 3 is soo frustrating

Alfheim Trio are the most annoyed Berserkers.
Easiest way: First of all kill the two flying mages, afterwards the berserker himself gets smoked real quick.

Killing the berserker is faster and easier than trying to kill the twins.
You have perfect timing. Just sat down to start my optional boss fights on GMGOW!
And in the setting if you enable mini boss checkpoint. When you got a boss half hp and you die the boss is still gonna be half hp.
Most time to beat this just needed my rage bar full and a superior resurrection stone
The valkyries took time for me learn thier patterns and beating them. The queen valkyrie was a tough one but these bastards are hard as heck.

Ive been fighting them using bare hands with poison from lunda armor. Im more comfortable that way. Fighting is way too long but more fun. Im stuck with the 3 berserker cos u need axe sometimes haha

Those alfheim berserkers are the most unfun boss in an otherwise amazing game. You are fighting the game with the camera and orbs rather than the boss lmao

I'm stuck with this 2nd last boss for platinum in no mercy for few hours tried with 20% boss hp left gosh, tried lower for balance easy kill just one try...any tips and op build guys?
Use a high def build (Steinbjorn chest, surtr scorched wrist & surtr scorched waist all max lvl.) For amulet use nifleheim set, svartalheim set, greater regeneration essence, regeneration essence and crest of desperate heroics. Use freya for high stun build
Leviathan axe with grips af fallen alchemist
Blades of chaos with pommels of the 9 realms
Draupnir with hind of volatile might
Onslaught shield with rond of restoration
Relic with hilt of angravadall.
All max lvl and should help you survive the fight with both Gna and King
Complete the crucible, upgrade your starter armour to completion also, then lower the difficulty. Job done
So it's a bug when you can't block multiple attacks with yellow rings? Kratos is just too slow to block more of them in succession.
Try to hit them and not get hit back, seamed to work pretty well for me
Play on easiest difficulty, fight them after finished main story(with freya),upgrade tools on max and learn moves

Best time to do this is after you complete the story
Guardian shield is better than the dauntless sheild.. both can counter but only the guardian shield stops the enemy's attack after parrying as Kratos goes into his counter combo. Dauntless shield only does a single shield bash and against these berserkers it doesn't knock them back like regular grunts therefore their attack animation continues.

Pro tip just max out your armor and weapons then bring some resu or berserker stone, you can take them easily.

there are two perk sets will help a lot with melee build

If you beat every mission and side missions, collect all collectibles, open all chests, these berserker bosses are extremely easy. Each can be beaten less than a minute

I’ve done every fight on no mercy apart from the king, his health pool is ridiculous and im level 8 ffs. U basically do chip damage and all my weapons are either level 8 or 9.
how did you find the info of what different colour health bar means ?
It's common sense green takes the most damage from6ur attacks and red takes the least damage
This info can be found in the game in the Codex tutorial tab.

Can anyone help me? I'm starting to get only red and purple health bar berserkers and enemies but idk why. My first berserker was yellow but for example the svartalfheim duo is red for me. Why???

Beat them on no mercy one or two were challenging the rest are easy .. also try to use “last second dodge” for even more damage
A lot of these Berserker fights are bad. The Valkyries we're way better. They were challenging but fair. Some of the Berserkers are battles with the enemy and the screen.
