Aloha from Hawaii!! 🌈🌈😀‼️ This video is very informative!! You sounded like a real teacher the way you explained each different border technique!!! Even I can do most of these techniques!! 😀‼️ The engineer was in fine form today!!!!! 🤣🤣🤣‼️😀
Love the ideas to make the quilts bigger! My favorites were to add extra blocks, add sashing, add top & bottom OR side borders. Great tips for all of us who love the 3 yard quilt books! The orange quilt is fabulous 😍 Great idea to bring in that tiny bit of green.
❤ I really get a kick out of the engineers comments. You were so gracious to allow him to tease that way. It’s always good to laugh at oneself. Always better than crying.😊
Engineer... peek-a-booty! Who knew quilting could be so salacious 😂❤😂 welcome back to the snark. This vlog is brilliant! It is so good to go to basics; what can go right! Keep those tootsies warm. Hugs, Chel 🌸
So I’m out of town Chel, and the engineer did ALL the editing on his own. I don’t have a computer with me so I just had to close my eyes and wait for him to post. 😳😬😬😬. He probably enjoyed his free rein a little too much. 🤣🤣
Absolutely genius!! I have quite a few patterns and haven’t made them because I want to enlarge them - your ways are perfect!!! Can’t thank you enough 😊
Love ur creative ideas. My mother-in-law use to say "silly goose" all the time. The quilts were lovely and the children that receive them will be so happy.
Thank you, Di, for saying the quiet part out loud! Lots of 6 footers in my family. Why would I give them a quilt made of only 3 yards or a layer cake? I have been struggling with this for a while. Great ideas for expanding a quilt. ❤
Oh my gosh I love these ideas! I love the topsy turvy pattern; that bright yellow is gorgeous. For someone who is a pattern follower it’s difficult for me to think outside the box; again this is so appreciated ♥️
This was a fun video. I always get such good ideas from you. I've made several 3 yard quilts and they just seem a bit small for an average size person. Thanks!
Thank you Di for this video. It was interesting for all those different ways to put quilts together. I want to try a few of them.Stay Safe Di. I can't wait to see what you come up with on your next video. God bless you for sharing your talent with all of us.
Thanks Di for addressing this problem, I think most quilt patterns are made for looks not actual use! I like a quilt to cover a bed like a bedspread hanging over the sides not a bed top only. I always seem to be adding to my quilts. Mostly I add blocks, but I enjoyed your ideas and am reminded there are many ways to make a quilt bigger. I often buy fabric according to the pattern and don’t always have matching left to use, I like your racing strip ideas and adding a new color or fabric! Well done! 👏 ❤
Enjoyed this tutorial. Thanks for sharing your ideas with all of us. I really like the asymetrical vertical stripe, sashing and border ideas. Thanks again, take care and blessings to y'all.
Love the yellow green and red it is such a pretty combination❤I have never made a three yard quilt it is now on my list of things to try. The floating border is interesting I like it.quilt #3is so bright and pretty your fabric choice is so nice.I love those borders they are classy. My fav is the orange one such a pretty combo love it.
I really liked the last quilt that you worked on. I am subscribing to your channel to learn more about piecing together quilts and I love your sense of humor. 😃
#8 make bigger blocks. The last quilt, and the second one would be easy to enlarge by using wider strips to create larger blocks. This would also avoid those strips just floating. Thanks for the ideas!
I really enjoyed this video because I struggle with enlarging my quilts. Thank you for the great ideas Di, they are the best. Hi to the engineer too lol.
So much useful info Miss Di!!!! Love this tutorial. I’m actually working on a quilt right now that needs a bit more width…going to try your vertical strips method. Wahoo. Thanks so much for taking the time to give a detailed explanation. 🤗🤗😘
I like the quilts
I absolutely LOVE the orange quilt. They are all nice, but that one is my favorite. I'm not an orange fan, but it's just beautiful. Great job!
Thank you Pamela 🧡🤍 and TFW😊🧡🐥
Thank you for all the ideas and instruction.
You are so welcome! Mary😊 thank you for watching my channel 😊♥️🐥

Oh yes, princess he’s in form a lot these days🤣😂👍🏼😊♥️🐥
I love quilt #4! It reminds me of orange creamsicles! I’m going to have to make one with those pretty colors.
It does! Those were the best ice cream bars from my youth 😊 TFW🧡🐥
Great info, I like them all but the last one is my favorite. The Engineer hasn’t lost his sense of humor. Have a great weekend.
Thanks, glad you liked it. Yeah he was a little on the wild side wasn’t he?😳🤪👍🏼💙🐥

❤ I really get a kick out of the engineers comments. You were so gracious to allow him to tease that way. It’s always good to laugh at oneself. Always better than crying.😊
You’re absolutely correct Rose. Thank you for your comment. I appreciate it.🐥♥️😊
Putting the inner border would leave spaces on the 4 outer blocks. How do compensate for this?
The final version of the orange is great, I love ORANGE. It is a great looking quilt, so CUTE
Fun fact Orange 🍊 is the Signature colour for Syracuse University upstate New York.
Thank you Michele. I’m getting a lot of comments about that orange quilt and I agree it did turn out cute.🧡😊🧡🐥
Thanks for the fax Anita. It’s amazing all the emotion over that orange color that’s coming out. TFW.😊🧡👏

Thank you, Di, for saying the quiet part out loud! Lots of 6 footers in my family. Why would I give them a quilt made of only 3 yards or a layer cake? I have been struggling with this for a while. Great ideas for expanding a quilt. ❤

I had a good chuckle at the wrong way block on the orange and white quilt, noticed it before you sewed it together. Thanks for the lesson! 🥰😍🤩
Glad you got a chuckle😂, laughing is good for the soul. You’re welcome Jeannie and I want to thank you for watching my channel.👍🏼♥️🐥
Love this! I’ve only made one 3 yard quilt, and I was so disappointed at how small it was 😢
My first one was a shock to the System kitty🤣. But they’re the perfect size for baby gifts or toddler quilts. Thanks for watching.😊♥️🐥
The engineer has done well.
Yes, he's a good egg.
Great job Di - Love watching you and April
Thank you Sue😊 I appreciate your comment 😊💙🐥
I love the way you extended these quilts... so much more interesting than just adding more blocks.❤
I appreciate hearing that Nancy. TFW😊♥️🐥

Oh my goodness, Janet! Where was my brain? That would’ve been an awesome solution. I didn’t think of. Especially on the last quilt.❣️ TFW😊♥️🐥
The 3rd one is my first favorite.
I must say the 4th one is really close to making it a first favorite. The sashing gives it an oomph.
