I have heard this Spanish violin player for some time, now, and I must say, this Concerto proves her to be among the elite of the young and coming violin players of this world!
Words are not enough to describe this performance and this young lady. It is so great, that there is someone who is able to play the violin like this! I wish you all the best Maria!
her playing is very aggressive and that is the biggest distinction in my opinion compared to other violinists, it generates a lot of power and force which is absolute stunning
This young superstar is incomparable - we are very fortunate that she is recording her recitals and orchestral performances. The nearest comparison I could make to this performance would be a combination of Perlman, Vengerov and Gitlis, but in truth she is a master in her own right and creates the most interpretive music I think I have ever heard.
Con tan solo Veinte años, dondes has llegado,??
Wow such fire, such passion, such virtuosity, it almost seems unbelievable to me that anyone can play the violin to that standard, the lucky audience were treated to something really outstanding on that occasion, thank goodness someone was there to video it for us.
Is interesting how she uses the vibrato on this piece, fast and basically accelerated. Remember the greats violinists style from the past century. Passion, intensity, personality and technique! Brava!!
this young lady is so mature with her music and makes it all look so easy, but her development and that of her great art has taken years of dedication and hard work, she is simply sublime in every way!
I was cried during the first (and middle) part of the piece. Then my tears have been disappeared during the second part. Beautiful performed. Bravo to the Violinist and Accompanist.
she is absolutely devine and I love her and her playing so much I have been repeating several pieces over and over again for three days since I heard about this talented prodigy.
I never noticed before the way her ponytail almost gets in the way during the ending and she keeps flinging it back over her shoulder to keep it out of the way 😍 Much love from Seattle
Thank you so much Maria, I really really enjoyed watching your performance and your absolute talent and such great passion and sensitivity too. I’ve subscribed and given you a thumbs up too
having now seen and heard this several times and come to appreciate it's complexity I find it is my favorite Maria duenas..she and the spanish music are simply sublime, I love them both!
A true Spaniard's realisation of what Sarasate meant... The matching drama 🎭 of her facial expression too ... that steps the differences in each sections and even in repetitions ! showcasing virtuosity as well as expression as Sarasate composed the piece for !
Though this is among my favorite performances of this piece it is certainly not at all how Sarasate would have played it. If she plays it like a mountain then sarasate plays it like a river.
@@hopelessviolin4690 tried Teo Gertler's river flowing version... more like Itzhak 's but hopelessly non Spanish not to say in free flowing Gypsy style.... so I'll agree to disagree .
@@hopelessviolin4690 thank you. My long reply ended up on the @aimson ... So glad of your correction ! the link and this conversation...enlarging my narrower thinking of how Spaniards would have played Z. privately and how they would record it in a style that Kreisler picked up and championed , e.g. Hungarian Dances of Brahms. Different views are enlightening ! The virtuoso speed and flow of Sarasate in this recording (I hope not a speeded up playback) sacrificed the Navarre, Pamplona gutsy character that legend has it Sarasate loved and would not miss annually even when touring America. Like you, I prefer Maria Dueñas performance that I hope will convince and educate the global concert goers of what generally goes on in a Spanish (especially flamenco dancing gypsy) heart privately .... with in my head foreign stereotype of : running ahead of bulls if not bull fights, Carmen level of gypsy fiery freedom, potato-butter pancakes , strong dark red wine called Torro..(?) bull's blood ( also Hungarian?!)and of course the castanets, zapateado and guitar rhythms of flamingo dancing that Sarasate's compositions also celebrated! (please excuse my greed and laziness ) Are there links for those too also played with the same sweet flow for the global touring , especially American audience that Sarasate's generation was able to start and achieve !?
Empezó y no daba crédito.. Creedme, es magia, impresionante, me volvió loco esa interpretación.
Her pitching is perfection! Smack-dab in the middle of every note even at the ends of the most fiendish runs or arpeggios. This is the most technically brilliant performance of this work I've ever heard, and it is also musical to the nth degree. I think I'm in love!
She gave Heifetz run for his money! I truly liked her interpretation better. So much lyricism in slower sections and such unabashed raw strength and gusto in the finale! Brava!
She absolutely shredded it without losing the musicality. A true player is to be able to play fast and still make it tasteful and not butcher it. Watch her, she’ll be one of the greats.
Unfortunately she lost me at the last part, it was too fast and shredded, it lost its original czardas dance theme and feeling by that. Still it was incredible, but sometimes you have to hold back your skills, you feel to show off otherwise.
Without a doubt, Maria Duenas is the most talented violinist today. She reminds me of Arabella Steinbacher, who's very deep and strong violin made her bighting .Duenas violin is both powerful but extremally romantic without being mellow. It is breathtaking. I just hope she sticks to classical music and she is not tempted by riches and fame as Hauser, Garifuna and Panfill. As Yoyo Ma and Bocelli. they end paying the prize, as true classical music artist are that; virtuosos.
She is an angel with the strength of a titan. For me, a very reserved opinion, is the new Anne Sophie Mutter, -which is no small thing-. We will hear a lot from Maria Dueñas.
Very expressive which is what Sarasate requires. 🔥🔥🔥 My favorite Zigeunerweisen is by Rudolph Koelman. His left hand pizz on this piece is god level. Midori is however imo the foremost authority on Sarasate. Maria Dueñas has mastered Zig at such a young age. Her style of playing really appeals to me, and I’m guessing I’m not alone. Not to detract from her virtuosity, but her pretty face and wonderful figure will assure her superstar status. She will be adored in all international concert halls. Berlin and Vienna Phil will demand her presence. Again, not only for her beauty but also for her technique and musicality.
She has the panache and bravura of the great early 20th Century violinists! WOWOWOWOW her intonation is amazing as many have unclear intonation with this piece and her left pizzicato is to die for!
Sarasate siempre me apasionó..pero oír está extraordinaria interpretación termina atrapando completamente mi corazón...Simplemente maravilloso!!

Yes she is excellent! Bravo!
When I saw her in Granada ,Spain in my hometown she was very little. Even back then with 8 years old she was soooo god.
When this prodigious Spanish violinist plays prodigious Spanish violin music, we are definitely in for a treat!
Spanish music using exceptionally Hungarian tunes…
her playing is very aggressive and that is the biggest distinction in my opinion compared to other violinists, it generates a lot of power and force which is absolute stunning
totally agreeing!! She is magnificient.
She's pure fire in that piece! I love it
Not just aggresive but very elegant and smooth as well, and she has a great sense of phrasing.
Her prowess is astonishing, but her style is a bit too forward for me.

Jaw-dropping performance... she's a rising star.
She has risen already.
Powerful and passionate interpretation of this Sarasate work, her virtuosity is so thrilling and electrifying both herself and the listeners.

Back again to listen to this masterpiece of expression. Maria is unsurpassed in her performance of this piece. Such life and also tenderness.

Very interesting bowing. One of my favourite violin pieces. I’ve played this myself. So I know all the difficult parts. Well done!

Strange, because the saddest part is the middle one (at least for me it represents the sadness).

One of the greatest living violinist
Star power and sheer technique that comes only once in a generation!
Enérgica, ágil y apasionada 🎻👍❤
Simply astounding tone and technique.
3 dislikes ?? Some people have no life, or else they’re just senselessly bitter and jealous. I’ll never understand it. This is incredible Maria !
When someone gets to the top envious souls wake up.
Maybe they just pushed the button by accident. Old people like me sometimes do that! But this time it's not me.
hopefully it was an accident

I never thought it was possible to play the violin with this lever of command over it in this young an age. Mere mortals can only bow to your talent.

Please take very good care of her, Spain, she's too precious to lose.
As far as I know, she lives in Austria now and the Austrians will definitely take good care of her! :-)
She doesn't need any country to take care of her, if anything her parents! And of course they love her in Spain
Living for the energy in this! Simply amazing.
