craitn Liszt’s later works are definitely more musical than his virtuosic earlier ones, but yeah, there’s a lot of composers that have composed stuff harder than Liszt. You can’t deny that he’s an amazing composer though.
The finale of the last movement is so quintessentially Hilary! So accurate, expressive and powerful! And the build up to, and her ff on the last chord is so typically her: HULK GO SMASH!!! Seriously, I always let out a roar after that last chord from her!
Use a lot of pressure, but you technically can’t play all three at once. Just double stop from the bottom and middle note to middle and top really quick.
If you press hard enough, the middle string will form a straight line with the 2 adjacent to it. It's hard to pull off in this way without sounding like a screaming horse, but it can be done.
I just learned more about reading music from this performance than every music lesson I bothered to turn up to in school. And it was played perfectly. Truly, music is our greatest art
2:23 I know there are more technically impressive variations in this performance but the way this double-stop phrase resolves to the same note is beautiful

I think this may be the mildest case of ptsd in history
It was so helpful slowing down the video for fingerings while still having the music on the screen! Her fingerings make so much sense!
Glad it was helpful!
I never touched a violin and even I understand how flawless it is
But does she practise 40 hours a day?
Yes she does
yes
Wwoooowwww... super..awesome piece.. but 40 hours training/exercise??😦😦 wooww...how??as far as i know a day has 24 hours😊
Kirti Sukhraj woooosh?

3:54 *yeets myself out the window*
I quit at 1:43 😭
2:50 is very I quit
4:20 to to four twenty one really stands out to me. each individual note is so clean and the timing, it sounds almost like a synthesizer or something. incredible
Thank you Hilary!!!
This melody is so fantastic, i'ts a amazing sound!!!
I'm 55 years old and will learn this Caprice 24. I've begun learn music-notes and playing violin,. now for 5 Months .I hope so we'll, i can learn this beautifully melody on my violin in the next 7 or 10 years!!!
And here's my answer for you Hilary;
12 Points from Germany ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Wanna hear a joke ?
Read the end of the title
I actually did it no thx
Sounds like someone needs to practice.
Dads pieces are perfectly easy to play along to
@@purgemerlin123 hmm i have a question why do you have like fifty channels? hmm and why are you even on youtube when you should be practice? hmm......
@@allegrovivace6806 I have shadow clone
Amazing playing. And amazing work Virtual sheet music, for the wonderful editing
Thank you! Glad you liked it!
3:08 just the most insane part
And after the rest is just crazy how she gets her fingers to move like that
I'm practicing the guitar version of Caprice 24.
Hilary played it really well and i can observe the 40 hours of practice every variation. Thank you for making this video, I'll go back to this from time to time so that i can learn the proper tempo.
You are most welcome!
ah. a fellow two setter :)
Liszt is entering the chat...
craitn Liszt’s later works are definitely more musical than his virtuosic earlier ones, but yeah, there’s a lot of composers that have composed stuff harder than Liszt.
You can’t deny that he’s an amazing composer though.
Fantasie impromptu by Chopin is hard af too
@@paeffill9428 I would like to know who those composers are and whether their pieces are intended to be playable or not
I have.
@@owencaleblau1644 chopin studies are harder imo
I like how two set has taken over all of TH-cam’s music comment sections
I can play along IN 25% OF THE SPEED.
If you can play it slowly, you can play it quickly.
Alex simply piano?
L Only 2 set fans will understand. But I’m sorry to say that you disappointed a lot of people
Gang Cheng I know that was the joke
Her body movement almost looks animated or unreal it’s so precise. Beautiful.
The finale of the last movement is so quintessentially Hilary! So accurate, expressive and powerful! And the build up to, and her ff on the last chord is so typically her: HULK GO SMASH!!!
Seriously, I always let out a roar after that last chord from her!
Im really courious how she do 3 strings at a time HAHAHA
Edit:also the 4 string note
Use a lot of pressure, but you technically can’t play all three at once. Just double stop from the bottom and middle note to middle and top really quick.
@@lordzorg2498 oh i get it thanks LOL
If you press hard enough, the middle string will form a straight line with the 2 adjacent to it. It's hard to pull off in this way without sounding like a screaming horse, but it can be done.
as a musician myself, for a four notes together, you play two notes and then the other two notes.
Use a lot of pressure and it will go on3 strings
3:00 Her voicing here is just unbelievable.
THE CHORDS, THE LEFT HAND PIZZ WHILE STILL DOING ARCO, THE OCTAVES, TONE, INTONATION, EVERYTHING WAS FUCKIN FLAWLESS HOW TF
She and Nicolo’s pieces are phenomenal.
The memorization is amazing to me let alone the playing.
I just learned more about reading music from this performance than every music lesson I bothered to turn up to in school. And it was played perfectly. Truly, music is our greatest art
That's great to know!
2:23 I know there are more technically impressive variations in this performance but the way this double-stop phrase resolves to the same note is beautiful
I can imagine Brett And Eddy trying to criticize her but they can’t because they have nothing to criticize her about. 🔥❤️😂
I have Covid right now, and yet I think I just held my breath for 5 mins straight
She is at Sydney Opera House in July. Sydney Symphony Orchestra with Simone Young. Can’t wait. Might see Brett.
FOURTH FINGER DOUBLE STOP LEFT HAND PIZZICATO. My GOD! Hahn makes it seem like everyday playing. She plays this passage as good as Heifitz ever did, and he is considered the greatest musician of all time (GOAT).
You know what? I realised that I've never listened to the whole thing before. And now I'm here... five minutes later with my face melted off like I've just listened to Master Exploder.
phenomenal. ....both the composer and the player. Bravo!!!
This masterpiece she plays with breathtaking skill and wonderful attire impresses me and makes me feel comfortable
Not worth listening to without emotion and comfort
There is something extraordinary in her exquisite performance

Amazing!👍👍👍This is my favourite interpretation of this piece!
That last chord...so much sound and resonance
They really said ‘Play Along’
Jeez, she sliced through this like it was butter! Beautiful.
This is Hilary Hahn, brilliant, say no more.
My God!! I was almost blown out of my chair by that display of virtuosity!!
Has got to be one of the best versions out there.
WOW the way she uses her third finger for the octaves is genius
